Translation

(Oh My Messenger!) And thus, We are informing you about some news from the ones came before you. Verily, We have given to you the Dhikr (Remembrance/Book) from Our side.

Tafsir

Allah (swt) narrates some of the events of the past so that people may know that Allah (swt) is alive, that He is eternal, that there is no other deity besides Him, that there is no concept of time for Allah (swt), that He knows and sees everything, that Allah (swt) is aware of all situations, and that they should continue to serve Allah (swt) and know Him as Lord.

In this respect, Allah, who has gathered all the heavenly Books in the Qur'an and bound them with the religion of Islam, and who will never send another Prophet after him, by narrating these events to His servant and messenger, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), is telling these events in a way that every human being can understand, so that all human beings can unite in Islam under a single religion, so that they do not fall into separation, so that they do not turn their backs on Allah and the Hereafter and suffer torment.

Also, when Allah (swt) says (We have given you a dhikr) that the Qur'an is true and sent by Him, He means the Qur'an. Because in the Qur'an, events are described over and over again. Each event carries different meanings. It is explained with an example that every human being can comprehend. In addition, the Holy Qur'an is not a Book that can be read once and put aside like other Books. Every time it is read by people, a hatim is created. It is rewarded with rewards in the sight of Allah. Since Allah (swt) intended that the Holy Qur'an should be recited continuously by people, when people recite the Holy Qur'an over and over again, Allah (swt) has described the Holy Qur'an as Dhikr. Since the Holy Qur'an is the Word of Allah (swt), it develops the human mind and emotions, as the verses of Allah (swt) carry different meanings with each recitation. It increases people's faith in Allah (swt).

What is said in the video

Surah Taha, verse 99, we have come to it. My Messenger, thus We relate to you some of the news of those who went before. To the Prophet, this time, that he is the Messenger of Allah, that Allah Almighty subsists by His essence, that He is Huwa'l-awwalu wa'l-akhiru wa'z-zahiru wa'l- batin. That He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, how beautifully it proves with words. What does it say? Thus We relate to you some of the news of those who went before. Indeed, We have given you a dhikr from Us. Indeed, We have given you a dhikr from Us. That is, We gave the Quran. Why dhikr? What is dhikr? Dhikr: a person, let's say his name is Ahmet.

When you say Ahmet, Ahmet, Ahmet, they say you are making dhikr of his name. So if we too make dhikr of our Lord who created us, if we say Allah, if we say La ilaha illallah, or by continually reciting Allah's word, by reciting the same words, by making dhikr, this becomes a dhikr. This is the first meaning. The second meaning: the Quran, when you read it once, you understand as much as you understand. When you read it a second time, it says. The second time, that is, when you do one more complete reading or one more dhikr, then, from the unfolding of the mind, you understand a little more. When one reads it the third, fourth, fifth, tenth, seventieth time, with different meanings your kashf (unveiling) opens, it says.

Your kashf. So how beautiful the meaning of dhikr is. Of dhikr. And as you read it, meanings from the hereafter naturally open up. As you read it, your faith becoming firm, the worldly attachments leaving your heart, Allah Almighty placing His light in your heart, no shadow of east or west falling on that light, and your kashf opening, your beholding certain spiritual realms, all this comes through the state of dhikr, that is, through the dhikr of dhikr, it happens. That is, it happens through making dhikr of the Quran. It happens through making dhikr of Allah. Yes.

My Messenger, thus We relate to you some of the news of those who went before. Indeed, We have given you a dhikr from Us, it says.

By relating some of the past events, Allah Almighty [shows] that Allah is Hayy, Hayy, living, subsisting by His essence, giving life to the worlds, but that He Himself is free of need of the worlds, that is, free of them, in the sense that He presents nothing to them. Yes. That Allah is Hayy, that He is everlasting from pre-eternity to post-eternity, that there is no other god besides Him, that for Allah the concept of time does not exist, that He rightly knows and sees everything, that people [know] Allah is aware of all states, it is so that they continue in servitude to Allah and know Him as Lord.

For this reason, the Seal of the Prophets, after whom no prophet will ever come again, all the heavenly books He sent gathering in the Quran, binding them with the religion of Islam, Allah, to His servant and messenger, Muhammad (peace be upon him), by relating these events, so that all people unite under one religion, in Islam, do not fall into division, so that they do not turn their backs on Allah and the hereafter and suffer punishment, these events over and over again, relates them in a way every person will understand. Yes.

Moreover, Allah Almighty, declaring that the Quran is true and sent by Him, saying "We have given you a dhikr" means the Quran. Because in the Quran events are told over and over again. Each event carries different meanings. It is explained with an example every person can grasp. Moreover, the Quran is not a book to be read once and then, like other books, pushed aside.

Each time it is read by people, a complete reading comes about. It attains rewards in the sight of Allah. Since Allah Almighty willed that the Quran be read continually by people, when people read the Quran again and again and repeat it, Allah Almighty has described the Quran as dhikr. Since the Quran is the word of Allah, since the verses of Allah Almighty, each time they are read, carry different meanings, it develops the human mind and feelings. It increases people's faith in Allah Almighty. Yes.
