(Oh My Messenger!) The Prophets We have sent before you certainly also ate and walked in bazaars. For you to prove (your character and) whether you show patience some of you are put to test with some others. Verily, your Lord sees everything.
Tafsir
Those who disbelieved in Allah and the Hereafter said about our Prophet (PBUH), "What kind of a Prophet is this; he eats, drinks and walks around like us; if he was a Prophet, shouldn't he have been given an angel to support him? In fact, if Allah had sent not one angel but a thousand angels with the Prophet (s.a.w.), they would still have disbelieved. In this respect, Allah (swt) sent this verse in order to guide the hearts of His Messenger (s.a.w.s.): "My Messenger! All the Prophets whom We sent before you also used to eat and wander in the bazaars) and supported the Prophet (SAW) against the disbelieving people.
Allah (swt) sent Prophets to His creatures from their own kind.
He sent Prophets to the angels from among the angels. The Prophets of the angels are the four great angels. These are Gabriel, Michael, Azrael and Israfil. He also sent Prophets to human beings from human beings. He also sent them Books as He left people free in their will. He also created many miracles and destroyed those who did not believe in these miracles. Thus Allah has proved His existence to the people who will come until the Day of Judgment. But it is not possible for you to guide those who are deprived of the light of Allah.
(O people! Now you are being tested, one part of you against another part of you, so that your patience may be revealed and you may prove what kind of people you are. Your Lord is all-seeing.
Your Lord is All-Seeing). In this verse, it is stated that Muslims should be patient in the face of the persecution of Islam by polytheists and disbelieving unbelievers, by being patient and steadfast, by not compromising their religion, by being patient with the persecution, by living their destiny, by living their fate, by living their destiny in the worldly life, by living their destiny, by not leaving Allah and His Messenger in the hereafter, and by waiting for the day when they will meet Allah, people will win this test and attain the heavens that Allah has promised to the people of piety. They will live happily and blissfully in the land of eternal bliss. Allah (swt) sees everything with truth. The heavens and the earth and all that is between them, from the mote to the sphere, is under the view of Allah. Allah sees everything in truth. Allah encompasses the universe with His knowledge and knows and sees what is happening and what will happen at any point or in any particle of all this creation. For Allah, the darkness of the night and the light of the day are one. He knows the secrets of His creation. In this respect, Allah is omnipotent.
What is said in the video
We left off at verse 20 of Surah Al-Furqan. Verse 20 of Surah Al-Furqan is a verse that is explained wrongly. The mistakes all ascribe attributes to Allah, our Lord; because they ascribe attributes to Allah Almighty, we have, in their correct form, given the meaning of the verse correctly. Now we read the wrong one. What does it say? My Messenger, all the prophets We sent before you, without doubt, ate food and walked in the markets. Correct. We wrote it that way too. My Messenger, all the prophets We sent before you, without doubt, ate food and walked in the markets. The part after this: O people, We have made some of you a means of trial for others.
Let us see, will you be patient? Allah Allah! So Allah Almighty doesn't know what they will do. Let us see, will you be patient? Yes, if you are patient, a reward for you; if you are not, a sin for you. Well, you will be tested by what you do. So Allah Almighty doesn't know. Well then, the words 'let us see, will you be patient' — don't they contradict this verse? There is not a single living being to come until the Day of Judgment whose doings We do not know. In that case, in that case — let us see what you will do? So Allah Almighty draws near to people according to the deeds they actually do?
If a person, let's say a cruel person, suddenly did a good deed, He loved him, then he did cruelty, He moved away from him — is that how it will be? What about His saying in verse 172 of Surah Al-A'raf: We made a covenant with those who would emerge from the offspring of the children of Adam? Those who do not know this covenant, in this way, haphazardly giving meanings to verses, ascribe attributes to Allah Almighty. Let us continue the wrong version of the verse from its wrong place, then read the correct one. O people! We have made some of you a means of trial for others. Let us see, will you be patient?
Your Lord, your Lord sees everything fully, it says. Now we open that part, that part, in its correct form. Pay attention. O people! Now, for your patience to come to light, and for you to prove what kind of person you are — how fine. For your patience to come to light. I mean, would you die without proving to yourselves what kind of person you are? There is the word (?) here. What are we saying now? O people, now, for your patience to come to light, for you to prove what kind of person you are, some of you, with others, with one another, are tested. Your Lord sees everything fully, it says. This is the verse. Allah Almighty (?) deficient attributes.
Yes.
Those who deny Allah and the hereafter said about the Prophet (peace be upon him): what kind of prophet is this, he eats and drinks like us, he walks around the markets; since these prophets were prophets, shouldn't an honoured angel have been given to him to support him, they said; that is, some also said, shouldn't Allah Almighty have appeared from the sky together with angels? (?) we would obey him, they said. Well, in any case, to the denying people who deny Allah, even if with the Prophet (peace be upon him) He had sent not one angel but a thousand angels, they would still have denied. For this reason Allah Almighty, to guide the heart of His Beloved, sent the verse.
Saying, My Messenger, all the prophets We sent before you, without doubt, ate food and walked in the markets, He supported the Prophet (peace be upon him) against the denying people. Now I read a sentence here. We will now open that sentence to you. For this reason Allah Almighty — what does it say? Even if He had sent with the Prophet (peace be upon him) not one angel but a thousand angels, they would still have denied. Why? Why? Now let's read this sentence again. You know why, too.
Let's confirm it. In any case, to the denying people who deny Allah, even if with the Prophet (peace be upon him) He had sent not one angel but a thousand angels, they would still have denied. Now pay close attention to the words. What are we saying? In any case, to the denying people who deny Allah. This is important. This word is important. To the denying people who deny. What does this mean? When they made the covenant with Allah Almighty at the address 'Alastu bi Rabbikum', the person who rebelled against Allah Almighty, waited for the Lord of their own imagination, said, you are not my Lord, and gave their covenant that way.
Let me read it once more. After explaining it, it will be understood better. In any case, to the people who deny Allah, the deniers, even if with the Prophet (peace be upon him) He had sent not one angel but a thousand angels, they would still have denied. Why? Because in their character, in their nature, far from Allah, denying Allah, waiting for the Lord of their imagination, they have such a feeling, such a character. For this reason, the prophets our Lord sent — even if with them there were thousands of angels, they still would not obey. How do you know, Hodja? Then those who obeyed would have obeyed out of fear.
Out of fear. Just as people, out of fear, appear to some people the way they want, you know. Fear, too. But on people's minds and hearts you cannot put chains. And so Allah Almighty deals with people according to their deeds. That is, actual deeds depend on a person's intention. If the intention is good, and the person unknowingly did a bad thing, he still receives a reward. Intention. (?) Yes. For this reason Allah Almighty sent His prophet from among people, not a wealthy one. Pay attention, He did not send any prophet as a wealthy man. Even Moses, despite growing up beside Pharaoh, falls into such a state that he leaves Pharaoh — you know, when he killed the Copt — when he went to Zechariah (peace be upon him), he serves Zechariah (peace be upon him), well, and marries his daughter.
Then again, well,
he is sent to Pharaoh to convey the command of the Truth. Yes. For this reason Allah Almighty, to guide the heart of His Beloved, sent the verse. That is, don't mind their denying you, their calling you a liar. We also sent the prophets before you walking around the markets, eating food. In another verse, too: whatever people you are from, from within that people We send a prophet. We are of the human kind, a human prophet comes. From the angel kind comes an angel prophet. So Allah Almighty sends to angels a prophet from angels, and to humans a prophet from humans. Yes, in that case, to guide the heart of the Prophet (peace be upon him), Allah Almighty says what?
For this reason Allah Almighty, to guide the heart of His Beloved, has sent the verse. My Messenger, all the prophets We sent before you, without doubt, ate food and walked in the markets. By saying this, He supported the Prophet (peace be upon him) against the denying people. Yes.
Allah Almighty sent prophets to His creatures from their own kind. To the angels, too, He sent prophets from among angels. The prophets of the angels are the four great angels. Who are they? Gabriel, Azrael, Michael, Israfil, (?), great angels.
Also, since He left people free in their will, He also sent them books. Besides this, He created many miracles. Those who did not believe in these created miracles were destroyed.
Thus Allah has proven His existence to the people to come until the Day of Judgment. But those deprived of Allah's light cannot possibly attain guidance. Yes. Now we passed over another statement here. Let's open this too. Besides this, He created many miracles. He destroyed those who did not believe in these created miracles. Well, why does He destroy them? He both shows miracles and destroys. Now pay attention to those who were destroyed. To those destroyed. Surely a message was conveyed to them. Beyond the conveying there is denial. And there is pushing the limits. Beyond the conveying. Because, it says, any people — unless We have sent one who conveys into their midst, We do not destroy them, it says. Now in two forms Allah Almighty destroys people.
In two ways. Well, we divide it into two parts. Of course, the first part of these destructions is, well, the destruction of the homosexual people among the people of Lot. They pushed the limits. Even though they were already swimming in filth, He sends the angels there to destroy them. And what do they do? They even try to rape the angels.
Because they crossed the limit, they are destroyed. The second part: they say, show us a miracle. When that miracle is shown, those who do not believe are destroyed. The people of the Prophet Salih, well, say: bring a camel out of the rock for us, come on. And Allah Almighty, as a miracle, accepts the Prophet Salih's prayer. He brings a yellow camel out of the rock, and Salih (peace be upon him) says what to his people? One day of the week is the drinking day, the water-drinking day; when it drinks water, on that day no one shall drink or take water. One day of the week belongs to that camel. And that camel will roam freely.
No one will put a load on it or use it. In that case, in that case, toward the camel that Salih asked of our Lord as a miracle, the people of Salih commit treachery. They kill it by cutting its legs. Then (?) comes. Those who ask for miracles — when the miracles they asked for are seen, are shown, destruction begins. Therefore, since there will be no more destruction, the Prophet (peace be upon him) is given afflictions. Afflictions. For his community and for people there is no more destruction. Why not? Because no one asks for a miracle either. In that case, destructions — instead of destruction, afflictions are given so that they may turn to Allah Almighty.
Yes. So here, thus Allah, to the people to come until the Day of Judgment, has proven His existence with what? With miracles. But those deprived of Allah's light — you cannot possibly bring them to guidance. O people! Now, for your patience to come to light, for you to prove what kind of person you are, some of you, with others, with one another, are tested. Your Lord sees everything fully. In the universe, within the infinity of this whole universe He created, there is nothing He does not see or know. He is present and watching everywhere. Your Lord sees everything fully. In this verse, about Muslims being patient: against the torment the polytheists and the denying unbelievers will inflict on Islam, being patient and steadfast, without compromising their religion, enduring the torments, in the worldly life living their destiny in what befalls them, those who in their passing to the hereafter do not part from Allah and His Messenger, and who await the day they will meet Allah — these people, winning this test, attain the gardens Allah promised to the God-fearing.
They live happy and blessed in the abode of eternal bliss. Yes. Now we can give you an example like this.
Suppose — let me give an example from myself. And you, well, in the example, whether I did right or wrong — whether I did right or did wrong, you decide. Now, let's say I am in Samsun.
Take Samsun as the world. The world. Take it as the hereafter. I am in Samsun, take this as the hereafter. Take Samsun as the hereafter. I am going to Ankara. Take Ankara as the world. I am coming to Ankara for a visit.
I am coming to prove what kind of person I am. Take Ankara as the world. What was Samsun? The hereafter. Now, if in Ankara they said to you: this world we are giving you. We are giving you yet another world. That is, Ankara. Two of them.
We give you your every desire. Do whatever you want. But make no preparation at all for Samsun. If you prepare for there, we will take from you what we gave you in this world.
Now, as someone with reason, I wonder, will you return to Ankara or return to Samsun? That is, as someone with reason, will you load up on the world, or build up the hereafter?
Here is the person's test, you see. We — what will we do? While building up our world, Allah Almighty doesn't say always work for the world, nor always work for Me; He leaves it open: you will both work for the world and build up your hereafter. But the people of our time, if we put it in percentages, fifty percent, sixty, even up to seventy, always want the world. For the world they turn their backs on their hereafter. In that case they fall into the state of the person described by this hadith. The bankrupt of my community — that is, the bankrupt, the one who goes bankrupt, (?) — is not the one bankrupt in this world, it says.
It is the one bankrupt in the hereafter, it says. Yes. The bankrupt of my community, that is, the wretched one who goes to the hereafter without provisions, is not the one bankrupt in the world — it is the one bankrupt in the hereafter. So if you go bankrupt in the hereafter, if you fix your eyes on the world, in the passing few hours of worldly life, what do you do? You enjoy your pleasures and in the end return to the hereafter like a bankrupt merchant. What does this resemble? There are (?) cicadas. Cicadas. What do cicadas do? Chirp, chirp, chirp, in August it lies around. When winter comes, it lies down to sleep.
It has nothing. Well, there is even a story of the cicada and the ant. One day in winter the cicada goes hungry. It knocks on the ant's door. It says to the ant: I'm hungry, very hungry, I'm about to die, give me a bite of bread. And the ant says to it: you, in summer, when you had every means, instead of playing the saz, if only you had prepared for winter, it says, and shuts its door on it. Yes, that's why from these verses, from the story, we must draw a lesson. Yes, Allah Almighty sees everything fully. The heavens and the earth, and what is between the two, from the atom to the globe, are under Allah's sight. Allah (?) sees everything.
Because Allah Almighty is not heedless of what He created. If His gaze were turned from them for a moment, the universe would collapse into chaos. Allah has encompassed the universe with His knowledge, and He is the One who knows and sees what goes on at any point or in any atom of all this creation, and what will happen. For Allah, the darkness of night and the light of day are one. He knows the secrets of what He created. In this respect, Allah has power over all things. Yes, Ufuk, our child.
