Exalted is Allah, the true Ruler. Do not hasten in (reading) the Qur’an before Allah completes revelations to you, and say; “Oh My Dear Lord, increase my knowledge.”
Tafsir
Exalted is Allah, the true sovereign. For Allah is eternal and everlasting in His sovereignty. The sovereignty of His property belongs to Him. Because Allah created all creation. Therefore, the sovereign who is eternal and there is no other sovereign but Him is the true sovereign. How glorious then is the glory of Allah, the Everlasting.
Allah (swt) revealed the Holy Qur'an to the Prophet (s.a.w.) by revelation. Do not rush to recite the Qur'an before the revelation is complete. When Allah (swt) reveals the Qur'an to the heart of the Prophet (pbuh), He says not to hurry in reciting the Qur'an before the revelation is complete. The questions that people will ask you are in the Qur'an. Allah (swt) has revealed about the Prophet (s.a.w.w.) that he does not speak in vain. So do not try to read it before the revelation is complete, before the revelation from the Essence of Allah is complete in the heart of the Prophet (PBUH). Sometimes, when they would ask the Prophet (PBUH) a question, he would not answer immediately, but would wait until the revelation from Allah (swt) was complete.
The fact that Allah (swt) made the Prophet (s.a.w.) pray in the Holy Qur'an, "My Lord, increase my knowledge" is also an address to all human beings. Because the Qur'an has come down to all the worlds. In this respect, addressing the Prophet is addressing all people. People should pray and supplicate to Allah (swt). They should seek refuge in Allah and ask for His help in all their affairs and pray to Allah (swt) to increase their knowledge.
What is said in the video
Surah Ta-Ha, verse 114. Exalted is Allah, the true Sovereign, it says.
Look at the beauty of the word.
What does it say? Exalted is Allah, the true Sovereign. Aren't there sovereigns in the world? Aren't they sovereigns? They are not. Temporary administrators, temporary administrators, people who rule only temporarily, temporarily. But the one who is Sovereign, the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, is Allah. When it says "the true Sovereign", even a temporary sovereign in the world is not a sovereign. That sovereign is the deputy on earth of the original Sovereign.
Can I make this point clear, I wonder? Because it says: We made man a vicegerent on earth. So, if man is the vicegerent of the earth, and these people, these people called sovereigns, the kings at the head of states who govern states, if they rule, then whom Allah Almighty sent to the world as a sovereign is His deputy. Deputy. In that case, the real Sovereign is Allah. That is why it says "the true Sovereign". Allah. Let no one take pride in his sovereignty in this world. I, of Hazrat Fatih, who was honoured with the praise of the Prophet, again of Hazrat Fatih, Fatih Sultan Mehmed, well, his reign there is no need for me to tell you about.
He opened a new age. He ended the Middle Ages. He opened the Modern Age. Well, this sovereign, this sovereign would put a child on a horse, and he himself would hold it by the halter and have him cry out: Do not boast, my sultan, there is Allah, greater than you; he would have him shout it. What did he have him say? Do not be proud, my sultan, do not be arrogant, my sultan, there is Allah, greater than you. So the true Sovereign is Allah. Yes.
He is the Most High of the high. He is exalted.
Do not hasten to recite the Quran before its revelation to you is completed, it says. We will give it to your heart. While it is being given, do not repeat it along with it. We will firmly settle the house of your heart, it says. And say: My Lord, increase my knowledge. Yes. My Lord, increase my knowledge. Since my teacher, too, is my Lord, I say it too. I say: my Lord, do not leave me alone. Do not withhold Your inspiration from me. If He does not make it known, we cannot know.
Exalted is Allah, the true Sovereign. Because Allah, with His sovereignty, is first and everlasting. The dominion of His kingdom belongs to His Essence.
We even sometimes recite it on the prayer beads. Lâ ilâhe illallahu vahdehû lâ şerîke leh.
(?) no god; Allah has no partner. Lehü'l-mülkü ve lehü'l-hamd. In His dominion, praise belongs to Allah alone. Ve hüve alâ külli şey'in kadîr. He has power over all things, it says.
Yes. Exalted is Allah, the true Sovereign. Because Allah, with His sovereignty, is pre-eternal and everlasting. The dominion of His kingdom belongs to His Essence. Because Allah created all created beings. In that case the Sovereign who is everlasting, besides whom none is everlasting, is the true Sovereign. Yes. So the glory of Allah, the Everlasting, is (?). Allah Almighty sent down the Holy Quran by revelation to the Prophet (peace be upon him). Do not hasten to recite the Quran before the revelation is complete. When Allah Almighty revealed to the heart of the Prophet (peace be upon him), He commands: do not hasten to recite the Quran before the revelation is complete.
The questions people will ask you are present in the Quran. About the Prophet (peace be upon him), Allah Almighty sent down the verse: He does not speak idly. So, before the revelation from Allah's Essence is complete, in the heart of the Prophet (peace be upon him), before the revelation is complete, do not try to recite it. Sometimes, when they asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) a question, (?) the Prophet (peace be upon him) would not answer right away. He would wait for the revelation from Allah Almighty to be completed. That Allah Almighty, in the Holy Quran, has the Prophet (peace be upon him) say "My Lord, increase my knowledge", making him pray, is at the same time an address to all people as well.
Because the Quran was sent down to all the worlds. Therefore, addressing the Prophet is addressing all people. People should pray and supplicate to Allah Almighty. In all their affairs, taking refuge in Allah and asking Allah for help, so that their knowledge may increase, they should implore Allah Almighty. Now here, Allah Almighty, in the Holy Quran, having the Prophet (peace be upon him) say "My Lord, increase my knowledge", in another sense it is like this. A question like this may come to mind. The whole Quran was given to His Prophet as revelation, as revelation. Is there any knowledge greater than this?
There is. Is there a verse greater than the Quran? No. But within the Quran there are the meanings of the verses. When he says "increase my knowledge": the first meaning, the third meaning, the fifth meaning, the tenth meaning, the fiftieth meaning, the seventieth meaning. Look, the Prophet says in a hadith too: every day I would repent seventy times for my own deficiency. What is this, this deficiency? The deficiency of the Prophet who came as a mercy to the worlds? A deficiency of knowledge. What is it? Since people perhaps cannot, throughout their lives, grasp the third, fifth meaning of the verses, the Prophet would grasp every day seventy meanings of a verse.
Meaning upon meaning. Meaning upon meaning. For example, let's say the fortieth meaning, compared to the thirty-ninth meaning, is deficient and flawed. He spoke deficiently. Compared to the fortieth meaning. But compared to all people, he spoke completely and perfectly. Because according to their mental capacity. In the sixtieth meaning, compared to the fifty-ninth meaning, deficient and flawed. So his repentance to his Lord, his helplessness: in those verses, with the abundance of his knowledge, the clarity of unveiling, a capacity people cannot reach, when he saw his Lord's power growing greater every passing second, every passing minute, in the face of his own deficiency, he would, before Allah Almighty, in the face of his helplessness, repent and seek forgiveness.
So repent and seek forgiveness often, says the Prophet. Yes.
