Translation

This is how We punish those who go astray and who do not believe in their Lord’s verses. The punishment of the hereafter is certainly more severe and enduring.

Tafsir

Those who deny Allah and the Hereafter in this world, those who do not believe in the Verses of Allah and His Prophets, those who leave the straight path and go astray. Although Allah (swt) does not withhold His mercy from mankind in this world, those who turn their backs on Allah (swt), the Creator of themselves and the worlds, by resisting Allah (swt), by following the nafs and Satan (shaytaan), by turning their backs on Allah (swt), will be punished by Allah (swt) with such a severe punishment in the Hereafter, in order to keep Allah's mercy and guidance away from themselves. Allah is just. He does not wrong anyone. All souls who disobey Allah wrong themselves.

The torment of an eternal and everlasting life in the Hereafter is of course more severe and lasting. The torment of the Hereafter is not like the torment of the world. In the world, a person suffers from a problem, and even if there is no cure for it, the pain and suffering ends with his death. The Hereafter, on the other hand, is a world without death. Therefore, since there will be no end to the torment there, the torment of the Hereafter is not only permanent, but it is as if the torment of the world is nothing compared to the torment of the Hereafter. May Allah protect us all from such a fate.

What is said in the video

Surah Ta-Ha, verse 127: Whoever strays from the right path and does not believe in his Lord's verses, thus do We punish. The punishment of the Hereafter is surely more severe and more lasting, it says.

Those who deny Allah and the Hereafter in this world, who do not believe in Allah's verses and His prophets, are the ones who abandon the straight path and stray onto deviant paths. Although Allah Almighty, in the life of this world, does not withhold His mercy from people, those who, to drive Allah's mercy and guidance away from themselves, resist Allah, follow the nafs and Satan and turn their backs on Allah, who created them and the worlds — in the Hereafter Allah Almighty will punish them, too, with such a severe punishment. Allah is just. He wrongs no one. All souls that oppose Allah wrong themselves.

In the Hereafter, the punishment of an eternal and endless life in which there is no more death is surely more severe and even more lasting. The punishment of the Hereafter is not like the punishment in this world. In this world a person suffers from an ailment; even if no cure is found, the pain and suffering he endures come to an end with his death.

The Hereafter, however, is a world without death. So, since the punishment there will never end either, compared to the punishment he suffers in this world the punishment of the Hereafter is lasting, and beside the punishment of the Hereafter the punishment of this world is as good as nothing. May Allah Almighty protect us all from such an end.
