Tafsir
Allah (swt) places great value on the family system. This is because family order is of great value in Islam. If men and women do not get along and get along in a home, there will be no love and respect between the spouses, and there will be no peace and order in that home.
But when spouses are of the same mindset, believe in Allah and worship Him, then people are bound to each other for Allah's sake and love each other for Allah's sake. On the path of righteousness and salvation that Allah has shown to mankind, people will find peace, stability and order. This is why Allah commands people to enjoin prayer on their families.
He also commands the head of the family to continue praying with patience and not to stop praying until the end of his life. Whenever a person tries to pray, a heaviness comes over the soul. Or the human soul becomes lazy to pray. In this situation, one should continue praying with perseverance, fortitude and patience.
Because Allah does not ask us for sustenance. Also, Allah does not say work and bring it to me. Because Allah does not need these things. On the contrary, Allah sustains all His creatures. In this case, we should worship Allah (swt) in order to show our devotion and gratitude to Him. We should not fail in our duty of servitude to Allah (swt). We should earn Allah's pleasure by continuing to worship as much as we can. These acts of worship are also for us. In the Hereafter, Allah (swt) will reward us for these things.
The good result is through taqwa. Taqwa is the avoidance of doubtful things and the observance of halal and haram for the sake of Allah. Whoever clings to the rope of Islam, the religion of Allah, for the sake of Allah, and holds on to it, and seeks the pleasure of Allah through piety and worship, then the good result is for such people.
What is said in the video
Verse 132 of Surah Ta-Ha says: Enjoin prayer on your family. Enjoin prayer on your family.
Today, when the grandchildren got together, I too gave such fine advice to them. I gave the example of Jacob. He says: Whom will you worship after I die? And they: We will worship Allah, the Lord of the worlds, besides whom there is no god, they say. And I told them: Do not turn your faces to anyone but Allah. I gave them this advice. Speak the truth even if it costs you your life, I said.
Do not abandon prayer, I said. (?), I said, do not have your bodies tattooed, I said.
Their strutting about the world in pomp lasts only a short while, I said. I gave very fine advice. I advised them for about an hour. Yes, I explained Allah's commands.
They asked some questions and I answered them. What it means to be brought to life twice and to die twice, that the souls are everlasting, that spirit, nafs and life are one and that the bodies are separate, that the body dies; that since there is spirit, nafs and life, the taste of the body's death is tasted by the spirit; every death, every soul shall taste death, it says. And to Me is your return, it says. So the spirit does not die. I explained these things very well. Accordingly, to you as well, briefly, I mean, what we told them at length we tell you briefly, and we say this: When you see yourselves in the guise of a body, do not think you will escape by dying.
We turn you back to the form of your first creation. Pay attention to the verse. No one knows these things. In the outward sense, in the outward sense, We turn you back to your weak form. Allah Almighty says it in a figurative sense, and in the outward sense too He says it. And some of you, He says, at a young age, and some of you until the most unproductive time of life We let live, He says. Second, when He says We turn you back to the form of your first creation: when I created you in the world of spirits, when I created you in that world of Lahut, the time I addressed you with Elestü bi Rabbiküm — I turn you back into that state of spirit, nafs and life.
And then I take the body from you, I turn you back to the form of your first creation, He says. And I will never put you into that body again, He says. Now, when we are raised a second time in the hereafter, when the souls are paired, it says, the pairing of the souls is their coming face to face. People who do not know themselves say it is men and women coming face to face. Or they say it is the soul entering the body. If the soul had entered the body, since the soul is strong, it would make the body speak in its own favour. They remain face to face. And when it says, Why are you bearing witness against me, the body says, The one who makes me speak is Allah, He makes me speak.
He makes it die there a second time. So, O human, beware, with your existence — never boast of this existence of yours and (?).
Just as you think of your tomorrow: let me have a house, a car, a yacht, a palace, a mansion, oh, may my children live well — just as you think that, so as not to drag your own self into torment in the hereafter, in the finest way, while life's opportunity is in your hands in the world, worship Allah and do not shy away from it. Yes.
Enjoin prayer on your family — how beautifully it says it. Enjoin. And you yourself persevere in it with patience — how beautifully it says it, with patience. Because when you are about to get up for prayer, laziness comes over you; be patient, it says. He knows the human nafs, after all. Be patient. We do not ask provision of you, it says — how beautifully it says it. On the contrary, We provide for you. The good outcome is with taqwa.
Every word is a magnificent saying that would never occur to the human mind. Taqwa comes with truthfulness. Taqwa comes by fleeing from doubtful things. What happens? Then our Lord who created us, because you behave this way for His sake, removes everything other than Him from your heart. That is, He takes out those bad souls. And in their place He puts His light. and with that light you begin to see, such that on it falls the shadow of neither east nor west. What beautiful verses.
Allah Almighty values the order of the family very highly. Because in Islam the order of the family has great value. If a woman and a man cannot agree and cannot get along in a home, then in that home just as the spouses lose their love and respect for each other, their harmony and order too are lost. But when the spouses, of the same mindset, believe in Allah and worship, people's devotion to each other for Allah's sake and their loving each other for Allah's sake emerge. On the right and safe path that Allah has shown people, people find peace, harmony and order. For this reason Allah commands people: enjoin prayer on your family too.
What will happen? With the same mindset, to the one single God who created the same worlds, by placing our foreheads in prostration to the Most Merciful, by bowing our necks, by breaking our nafs, by submitting to our Lord, the greatest of those worlds, toward people our merciful behaviour will come forth. Our helplessness will come forth. When our helplessness comes forth, our feelings of mercy will begin. Why? We are helpless. We always expect something from our Lord. We are helpless. So the people who bow their necks to Allah and believe before Allah in a voice of helplessness have soft hearts.
They are merciful. Then they know the person before them the same way, see them the same way. In this case the believers are brothers. And brothers are bound to each other by bonds of love. That is, of course, if this is not the love of blood brothers. A brother means the brotherhood of devotion to the same God, the Lord, owner of the worlds, besides whom there is no other god. These cannot betray each other. Look, today when Muslims die, our (?) aches and we feel hatred toward them. (?) if we could, we say, we are ready to become martyrs in their place. Yes. That is a brother.
Also, it must be commanded that the head of the family too persevere in prayer with patience and, until the end of his life, never give up his prayer. Never give it up. Why? Persevere with patience. Beware, He says, never give it up. Why? Your prayer will be the testimony that, in the life of this world, you bowed to Me with that prayer, He says.
That prayer of yours is enough to testify for you, He says. Do not give up that prayer. The first questioning is about prayer anyway. Yes.
He also commands the head of the family to persevere in prayer with patience and, until the end of his life, never give up his prayer. Whenever a person gets up for prayer, a heaviness comes upon the human nafs. Or the human nafs (?) laziness toward prayer. In this case one must continue prayer with steadfastness, firmness and patience. Because Allah does not ask provision of us. Moreover, Allah Almighty does not say: work and bring it to Me. Because Allah Almighty has no need of these. On the contrary, Allah provides for all that He has created. So, to show and fulfil our devotion and gratitude to the Being of Allah Almighty, we must worship.
We must not fall short in the duty of servanthood toward Allah Almighty. As far as we can, we must win Allah's pleasure by continuing our worship. And these acts of worship are, again, for our own sake. In the hereafter Allah Almighty will reward us abundantly for them. The good outcome is with taqwa. Taqwa is avoiding doubtful things. It is heeding the lawful and the unlawful for Allah's sake. Whoever, for Allah's sake, holds fast to the rope of Allah's religion, the religion of Islam, and stands up for it, and by continuing obedience and worship seeks Allah's pleasure — the good outcome belongs to such people.
