If We had destroyed them with a punishment before this (Descending The Qur’an), they certainly would have said, “Oh Lord! If You had only sent a Messenger so that We would have followed Your verses before falling into this despicableness and misery.”
Tafsir
God sends messengers and Books to people who do not believe in God and the Hereafter. He also shows them miracles. Even so, these people do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter. Allah knows very well that they will not believe in Allah and the Hereafter. Because Allah, who in His address (Elestu bi Rabbikum) has given everyone's destiny to him, knows each person better than the person himself.
So why does Allah send messengers and Books if these people will not believe? Allah is exempt from any imperfect attributes. In this verse, Allah (swt) says to the people who disbelieve in Allah and the Hereafter: "If We had destroyed them with a torment before this (the Qur'an), they would surely have said: 'O Lord! If only you had sent us a messenger, we would have followed your Verses before we fell into this humiliation and disgrace.
Allah (swt) knows what people will say, for He is free from any imperfect attribute. Allah has the attribute of Godhood. No one will be able to question or ask Allah. The reason for this is that Allah (swt) will reveal all the questions that people will ask and each soul will be held accountable for its own actions. In this respect, Allah (swt), knowing very well that they will betray Allah and turn their backs on Him, sends messengers and Books to them, inviting them to His Presence. It prevents the disbelievers from asking questions that would incriminate Allah.
What is said in the video
Verse 134 of Surah Ta-Ha: If We had, before this, before the Quran, destroyed them with a punishment — now it has come, what we explained has come — they would surely have said: O Lord, if only You had sent us a messenger, so that before falling into this abasement and disgrace we might have followed Your verses.
Here, that Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes; because He knows what people will say, He creates these worlds. And He sends man to a world where His Being is not seen. He sends him to a world where His Being is not seen. The reason, the reason is a point that does not easily fit into people's minds. What is it? Because Allah Almighty gave people a portion of His spirit, because in the form of His Being He appeared to people just like a human, because there people, within their own memories, out of pride and arrogance likened Him to themselves — that is, because they saw Him in human form and likened Him to themselves — out of their pride and arrogance they did not believe that Allah Almighty was the Lord who created them. Because of this arrogance and pride they awaited the Lord of their own imaginations.
That is what the verse "they will not be able to see their Lord" corresponds to. But those unaware of the verses say it indicates that Allah Almighty will appear in the hereafter in such a way, they say. Some say, perhaps, it is about those who will enter Paradise. Now, in this case, in this case, while we live in our world too, when we convey the truth to people, when I set out to open up the meanings and equivalents of the verses for you in our own language in the finest way, again the prejudiced among us, or those of little understanding, again without searching their memories, or without using their reason, immediately rise up in revolt out of prejudice.
There's no such thing, they say.
Now, when he says there's no such thing, they put their finger on many points. One,
Allah Almighty's making a covenant with people.
Did you make a covenant with an unseen Allah, with your Lord? Did you make a covenant with someone you did not see?
I swear by Allah, Allah made a covenant with no one without appearing to them.
He made a covenant with each person individually.
Everyone had his own wish and desire, his aim, written down as his destiny.
How do you know? The verses (?). Well, that's what you are telling. I know the hereafter as I know today. I am a grandson of the Prophet.
I can also be counted a grandson of Ali. Not counted — I am his grandson. Just as Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said, I know the hereafter as I know today, the same words — Allah is my witness — I know it as I know today. I know it as I know today. I know my covenant too, I know the covenant (?) too, I know Elestü bi Rabbiküm too. In many of the equivalents of the verses, in Paradise and Hell, I saw and I know. Indeed, pay attention to the verses: as if it had been seen, it tells, they say. Yes, it was seen, and so it tells. Now, just as they did not believe the Prophet when he said I am a prophet, believe if you like, don't believe if you like, now.
We are not going to change anyone's destiny. In order not to believe, you have to prove to me that what I tell is wrong and prove it to me against the verses. But I prove that everything I tell, every word that comes out of my mouth, corresponds to the verses — I prove it with verses.
We will go on proving this further. We will go on further with the proof. What we have done up to here was just an opening. What does it say now? If We had before this, before the Quran — when it says before the Quran: the Torah, the Psalms and the Gospel are in the Noble Quran. When it says before the Quran, because these were taken from the Quran, when it says before the Quran: O people, you who will come from the loins of the sons of Adam. We made a covenant with you in the address Elestü bi Rabbiküm. If there We had, according to the covenant you had given, punished you, you would surely have said this, it says.
What would they have said? They would surely have said this: O Lord, if only You had sent us a messenger, that is, if only You had sent us to a world where Your Being is not seen and made Yourself known to us through that messenger — see, before falling into this abasement, how beautifully we would have worshipped You. What does it say now? They would have said this: O Lord, if only You had sent us a messenger, so that before falling into this abasement and disgrace we might have followed Your verses. Come on, He says. Now, there you saw Me in your own attributes, like a human. You saw Me with the attribute of the Being.
Now, since I know what you will say, to a world where My Being is not seen — a hidden world indeed — I send you. To the earthly world. Now, bring it on. Here are the messengers, here are the books, here are the prophets, and here the scholars.
Allah Almighty, free from all deficient attributes. Yes. How else should Allah Almighty say it? How else should He make His verses known? But go to all the commentaries written on this verse, you will not find such a meaning. Because everyone has understood and explains the verse according to their own head. Yes. And this proves that I know the hereafter as I know today, in fact.
Because it is an event that was lived.
To people who do not believe in Allah and the hereafter, Allah sends messengers and books. He also shows them miracles. Despite this, these people do not believe in Allah and the hereafter. Allah knows full well that they will not believe in Allah and the hereafter. Because Allah, who in the address Elestü bi Rabbiküm gave everyone his aim as his destiny, knows every person better than that person knows himself. Yes. Because a person cannot know what will become of him in the future, cannot know what he will live through, but Allah Almighty knows what will become of him. So, since these people will not believe, why does Allah send messengers and books? Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes.
In this verse, about people who deny Allah and the hereafter, Allah Almighty: these — If We had destroyed them with a punishment before this, before the Quran, they would surely have said: O Lord, if only You had sent us a messenger, so that before falling into this abasement and disgrace we might have followed Your verses — saying this, they would have blamed Allah Almighty. Because Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes, He knows what people will say. Allah has the attribute of Godhood. No one will be able to question or interrogate Allah. The reason is that, all the questions people would ask being (?) to Allah Almighty, every soul will be called to account for its own deeds.
For this reason, to those who betray Allah, Allah Almighty, who knows full well that they will turn their backs on Allah, sending them messengers and books, invites them to His Being. Thus He forestalls the deniers' questions that would blame Allah. Now, here we sometimes open up the verses.
If we were to put these into writing, every single verse would become a book. I'm serious, it would become a book. Because you will support verse with verse, support verse with verse, a verse will open the meanings of a verse, and open its meaning — it would come to camel-loads.
In this case we say it in a limited way that everyone can understand, but only in coded terms, like this. There are many codes here. These are the veiled version of what I explain.
