Tafsir
Whenever a Prophet comes to those whose hearts are disorganized and restless, and who disbelieved in Allah before and betrayed Him, they listen to him in mockery and amusement. The meaning of play and amusement here is that such people have finished with themselves from the beginning and are concentrating on disbelieving in Allah and His Messenger. Their listening to the Truth is to kill time and to increase their disbelief by ridiculing what is said with their own ignorant ideas.
These people whisper among themselves. They say, "What is this (Muhammad) who calls himself the Messenger and Prophet of Allah but a human being like you? They want to see the Prophet in a different disguise and as a non-human creature. They imagine a being in their imagination and wish it to be so.
In the past, when these people were in the spirit world, they could not believe that Allah was Allah if Allah (swt) resembled human beings in His attributes when He made a covenant with Allah. They wanted to see the Allah they visualized in their imagination. In this respect, they denied Allah. This is exactly what is happening on earth between the Prophet and these people. They have the same feelings, they want to see the Prophet in their imagination, so they deny the Truth. Allah (swt) says: "The worldly realm is the shadow and likeness of the Hereafter". In this respect, since the emotions there are written as character and destiny for these people, they commit the same deed in the world and deny it.
Although they hear the Truth, they claim that it is magic, and they try to turn the people who believe in the Truth and find the right path away from Allah by saying, "Are you going to believe in this magic now?
What is said in the video
They listened with their hearts lost in play and amusement. In the third verse of Surah Al-Anbiya, Allah Almighty says: with their hearts lost in play and amusement they listened. Yes, they do not recognize Allah, the book, the prophet; always, to the word of guidance coming from Allah, that is, to the verses, with their minds on games and amusements that satisfy their nafs, immersed in the adornment of worldly life, they listen, taking Allah's verses lightly, and trying to draw some ulterior idea from them, trying to find some deficiency, in their own estimation, by opening a breach in the verses, well, they try to ascribe attributes to Allah.
These poor people.
Those wrongdoers whispered like this: What is this Muhammad but a human being like you? Yes. Allah Almighty already says in the verse: whatever you are, We send you a prophet from your own kind. To angels He sends a prophet from the kind of angels.
And to humans He sends a prophet from the kind of humans. If Allah Almighty had not sent a prophet from our own kind but from an angel, or had He Himself necessarily appeared to us and in this way said "I am your Lord" in the worldly realm, that had already been seen in the realm of the hereafter. He would have settled our affairs there, without us ever coming into the world.
He would have put the Muslim into Paradise and the non-Muslim into Hell, and that would be it. Allah, who is free from any deficient attribute, created these realms to forestall everything people would say. What would man have said? You created me like Your own self. You gave me a part of Your spirit. You made me resemble Your self. If You had sent me to an unseen realm of Your unseen self, I would have worshipped You there very well. So that they would not say this, I created these realms, He says. So now, here is the arena: prove yourself. Of course a prophet from your own kind will come, and you, with that prophet from your own kind, will live out whatever covenant you gave to Allah Almighty.
Yes. Are you now falling for magic with your eyes wide open, He says. Let us read the whole verse. They listened with their hearts lost in play and amusement. Those wrongdoers whispered like this: What is this Muhammad but a human being like you? Are you now falling for magic with your eyes wide open, He says. These people have latched onto magic. They keep at it. Yes, there is magic. There is, but the magic is in Allah's word; the person who explains His word is not a magician. The person who explains Allah's word is a guide. That is, they are people who invite others to guidance, addressing their mental capacity and inviting them to Allah and His Messenger.
They are, at root, people who convey the truth and try to teach the truth to people. Yes.
To people whose hearts are scattered and restless, who earlier denied Allah and committed treachery, whenever a prophet comes, they listen to them mockingly, amid play and amusement.
Today we can show you these, like this, as an example for you.
Allah Almighty says, for example, perform the prayer — perform the prayer, a command.
Non-Muslims standing up for prayer, while saying Allahu Ekber, are singing a song. The one behind him hits him with a stick. Today PKK members also put on show that they do these things.
Everyone's religion is their own. But I am saying this to connect this mocking of theirs with the one here.
Besides, he plays around during the tahiyyat too. He plays around during the standing too. He mocks the prayer. So what does Allah Almighty say? Those wrongdoers whispered like this: What is this Muhammad but a human being like you? Are you now falling for magic with your eyes wide open? Let us say it from the start. They listened with their hearts lost in play and amusement. They listen to (?) what is said only on condition of turning it into play and amusement like this.
These people also whisper among themselves like this: The one who presents himself as Allah's messenger and prophet This part probably let us read this from the start. To people whose hearts are scattered and restless, who earlier denied Allah and committed treachery, whenever a prophet comes, they listen to them mockingly, amid play and amusement. What is meant by play and amusement here is: such people have settled the matter within themselves from the start and are people who have concentrated themselves on not believing in Allah and His Messenger. Their listening to the truth is to kill time and, with their ignorant ideas, to mock what is said and so increase their kufr.
These people also whisper among themselves like this: What is this Muhammad, who presents himself as Allah's messenger and prophet, but a human being like you, they say. They would like to see the prophet in some other guise, as a non-human creature. As for what these people want to see, Allah Almighty says: We, had We (?) from the sky together with angels, would have made you prostrate, He says. So they are waiting for, well, a prophet, an Allah, a god according to their fantasies. And in this case, according to their fantasies, whatever fantasy they are in, whatever product of fantasy they imagine, they make idols accordingly, and worship these idols.
they imagine a being in their fantasies and want it to be that way.
Earlier too, when these people were in the realm of spirits and made a covenant with Allah, since Allah Almighty resembled humans in His essential attributes, they could not believe that Allah is Allah. They wanted to see the Allah they had pictured in their fantasies. For this reason they denied Allah. This situation arises in exactly the same way on earth between the prophet and these people. Again, with the same feelings, picturing the prophet in their own fantasy world and wanting to see him that way, they deny the truth. Allah Almighty declares that the worldly realm is the likeness and shadow of the realm of the hereafter.
Therefore, since the feelings there were written for these people as character and destiny, they do the same thing in the world too and deny. Although they hear the truth, they claim it is magic, and saying to people who believe in the Truth and have found the right path, "Are you now going to believe in this magic?", in order to turn the believers away from Allah too they strive. Yes.
A person who does not believe in Allah and His prophet — I don't know if you have come across one — you can pierce a rock, but you cannot pierce their hearts. I have come across them. Exactly the same.
Allah Almighty says about this in the verse: their hearts are even harder than rock. There are rocks, He says, from within which, from whose springs, waters flow. Yes. So now, as for their hearts, think for yourselves how cruel and hard they are.
