Translation

They said; “No, (these are) senseless dreams. To the contrary, he has fabricated them. Perhaps he is a poet. (If he is not) he shall bring a verse/miracle similar to the one that the previous ones were given.”

Tafsir

The Prophet (SAW) continued to introduce our Lord to those who denied Allah (swt). The polytheists then rebelled and said no. These are nonsense dreams. That is, they slander the Prophet (PBUH) and say that these are dreams that he invented. Such a thing cannot be. No one can be aware of all that is in the heavens and the earth. The disbelievers speak in this way because they are trying to fit Allah (swt) into their own heads. They are waiting for the creator of their own imagination. That is why they said to the Prophet (SAW) that Muhammad was a poet in his imagination. They called the Prophet a poet. They said that the Holy Qur'an was a poet because they thought that the Qur'an was so perfect in terms of eloquence and recitation, rhymed and complete, that it was the speech of the Prophet (PBUH).

Those who disbelieved in Allah continued their speech, saying, "If we are lying about Muhammad, if he is truly a Prophet, should he not have brought us Signs like the Signs of the previous Prophets whom Allah had sent before and the Signs He had given them? The meaning of the Verses here is that the Prophets show people the miracles given to them by Allah. In this case, the polytheists demanded that the Prophet (PBUH) should also show them a miracle.

What is said in the video

In Surah Al-Anbiya, we have come to verse 5.

No, they said. These are muddled dreams. That is, they said no to the truth. It does not fit in their minds. How can Allah know what goes through my mind? How can Allah know the future? Can such a thing be, I mean? Well, such a thing cannot be, yet you know that this world turns in empty space too. Can such a thing be? You see with your eyes. You hear with your ears, you speak with your tongue, you were created as a human being. Did you come into being by yourself? Can such a thing be? People who have no command of the ability to compare say such nonsensical things. What are they saying now? No, they said. These are muddled dreams.

Rather, he has invented it himself. That is, the Prophet was supposedly making these things up. Yes. Perhaps he is a poet. You know, in the old days there was poetry among the Arabs. They used to compete with one another in praise. Yes. If not, let him bring us at once a verse like the one sent to those before, it says.

Verses. Are they not coming? They are. Verses aplenty. A verse is a miracle anyway. Yes. To those who deny Allah Almighty, the Prophet (peace be upon him) continues to make our Lord known, still.

Thereupon the polytheists rebelled and said no. These are muddled dreams. That is, slandering the Prophet (peace be upon him). These are fantasies he has made up. Such a thing cannot be. No one can be aware of all that is in the heavens and on earth. True, it is beyond reason. For a human, of course. Beyond reason. As Allah, that Creator rules over everything. Yes. If I said now that I rule over what is in the heavens and on earth, you would laugh, wouldn't you? Can such a thing be? This is not possible. I mean, it is not possible. What would I say? What would I say? My Lord showed me some of the signs, I would say. For example, a portion.

I would tell of something. And when that comes about in the future, these become its karamat. They become that person's karamat. Yes.

These are muddled dreams. That is, the Prophet (peace be upon him), truly in slander, the Prophet — slandering him: these are fantasies he made up. Such a thing cannot be. No one can be aware of all that is in the heavens and on earth. The deniers speak this way because they are trying to fit Allah Almighty into their own heads. It is because they await the creator of their own fantasy world. Therefore, their calling the Prophet (peace be upon him) a poet: the Quran being so perfect in eloquence and recitation, and being rhymed and flawless — since they thought this was the speech of the Prophet (peace be upon him), they said: this is a poet.

Yes.

Those who deny Allah continued speaking: if what we say about Muhammad is a lie, if he is truly a prophet, then like the earlier ones, that is, Allah's prophets sent before, and like the verses He gave them, verses — should he not have brought us those? they said. By verses here is meant that the prophets show the miracles given to them by Allah to people. In this case, the polytheists wanted the Prophet (peace be upon him) too to show them miracles.
