Translation

If We wanted to have enjoyment, We would have gotten it from Our side. If We were to do this (But; Allah is not among those who would.)

Tafsir

If Allah (swt) had intended play and entertainment, He would have created beings equal to Himself, worthy of His glory, and He would have made play and entertainment with them. Allah has not created a being equal to Himself. But He created man by intending a being equal to Him. This is Habib-i Kibriya, the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.). He created all Prophets and human beings from his soul and the universe from his light. He created man, whom He would hold accountable to His Essence, as a fellow creature, and placed all that He created in the realm of property at the disposal of human beings. In this respect, man has become the caliph of the earth.

That is why Allah says that if we had wanted to have a pastime, we would have gotten it from Us. In the face of this situation, Allah declares that what has been created was not created as a game and amusement, that He created all living and non-living beings to know His Essence, and that He created the worlds so that Allah, who is an unknown treasure, could be known and recognized. Therefore, nothing was created in vain. It is revealed that every created being, even every particle, has a mission and that within this mission, they were created to prove the existence of Allah and to recognize Allah.

(We are not of those who do this), that is, by creating the most honorable creation, the human being, He has created the most honorable creation, He has created the human being as the equivalent of a creature, and by making the human being the addressee of His Essence, He has intended to be known through him. Allah (swt) means human beings, we are not like people. People organize games and entertainment among themselves and have fun. Since Allah has not created anything equal to His Essence, Allah is far from those who play and amuse themselves as people do, and far from those who do so.

What is said in the video

Of Surah Al-Anbiya, verse 17: "Had We wished to take up a pastime, We would have taken it from Our own side; We are not ones to do this," it says. This too is very meaningful, deep. That is, if We had wanted a pastime, We would not have given you from Our spirit. We would not have held you as addressees of Our Essence. We would not have had you torment one another like this in the worldly realm. We are not wrongdoers, it says. Rather, I would have made a pastime in My own presence and amused Myself with it, it says. Just as we build a computer and they play lifelessly from a program. Yes, how beautifully the verses support one another.

"Had We wished to take up a pastime, We would have taken it from Our own side. We are not ones to do this," it says.

If Allah Almighty had intended a game and pastime, He would have created beings befitting His glory, equal to Himself, and taken with them a game and pastime. Allah has not created a being equal to His Essence. Rather, wishing for a being as addressee of His Essence, He created man. This is Habib-i Kibriya, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). From his spirit He created all the prophets and people, and from his light the universe. Creating man, whom He would hold as addressee of His Essence, as the noblest of creatures, in the material realm He placed what He created at people's command. In this respect, man has become the vicegerent of the earth.

That is why Allah says: Had We wished to take up a pastime, We would have taken it from Our side. In view of this: that created things were not created as a game and pastime, that He created all living and lifeless beings to know His Essence, that He created the worlds so that Allah, a hidden treasure, would be known and recognized, this is what He makes known. So nothing has been created in vain.

That every created being, even every atom, has a duty, and that within this duty they were created to prove Allah's existence and to come to know Allah, this becomes evident. In the verse where He says, "We are not ones to do this," that is, creating man, the most honorable He created, as the noblest of creatures, and holding man as addressee of His Essence, He has willed to be known through him. Allah Almighty, referring to people: We are not like (?) people. People arrange games and pastimes among themselves and amuse themselves. Since Allah did not create a being equal to His Essence, Allah is far above taking up games and pastimes as people do, and above such amusements.
