Translation

He said to his father and his people, “what are these statues that you stand in front of them and worship?”

Tafsir

When Hazrat Abraham reached a certain age, he addressed his father and his people and said: "O my father and my people! What are those whom you stand before and worship, that you worship him? These are the creations of Allah. Allah is one. He is invisible to the eyes. He is the Lord of the earth and the heavens and all that is between them. Do you not see that those whom you worship are not able to benefit or harm themselves or anyone else? Everything belongs to Allah. He warned his people and his father not to associate partners with Allah.

What is said in the video

Surah Al-Anbiya, verse 52: He had said to his father and his people: What are these statues that you sit before and worship? Yes. When Abraham reached a certain age, he called out to his father and his people: O my father and my people, these that you sit before, sit before and worship, what are they that you worship them? These too are creations of Allah. Allah is one, He is not seen with the eyes; of the earth and the heavens and what is between the two He is the Lord. Do you not see that those you worship can neither benefit nor harm themselves or anyone else? Everything belongs to Allah. Do not ascribe partners to Allah — thus he warned his people and his father.
