We told them to go to the nation that has denied Our Verses. At the end, We destroyed them (because they rejected the Truth).
Tafsir
Allah (swt) sent Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' and Hazrat Harun 'alaihis-salâm' to Pharaoh, who rebelled against Him and claimed godhood. Hazrat Musa and Hazrat Harun explain to Pharaoh that there is no other God but Allah. He also gave miracles to Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' against Pharaoh's magicians.
Hadrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' and Harun 'alaihis-salâm' came to Pharaoh and informed him of the truth. They told him that they were also Prophets. Pharaoh does not believe this and says that you are magicians. I will gather my magicians and compare you. If you prevail, I will believe you and send your people with you.
In the time of Pharaoh, the tribe of Israel lived a life of captivity in Egypt. The heaviest duties were assigned to them. In this situation, Allah (swt) sent Hazrat Musa (Moses) to Pharaoh to rescue his people from the hands of Pharaoh's oppressor and to convey the truth. After Hazrat Musa made an agreement with Pharaoh, on a certain day, Pharaoh gathered his magicians. They performed magic against Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm'. When Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' removed the magic by Allah's command, Pharaoh again did not believe Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' and did not keep his word. So Allah (swt) destroyed Pharaoh's army. This Verse has been explained in detail in the previous Verses.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-Furqan, verse 36: Go to the people who deny Our verses, We said. Go to the people who deny Our verses, We said. In the end, since they would not mend their ways, We destroyed them utterly, it says. That is, when destruction became due upon them, Allah Almighty wiped them off the face of the earth.
In a verse, too, it says: unless We have sent a warner to a people, We do not destroy that people.
Allah Almighty sent Moses (peace be upon him) and Aaron (peace be upon him) to Pharaoh, who rebelled against Him and claimed to be a god. Moses and Aaron explain to Pharaoh that there is no other god besides Allah. Furthermore, He gave Moses (peace be upon him), against Pharaoh's magicians, miracles. Moses (peace be upon him) and Aaron (peace be upon him) come to Pharaoh and convey the truth. They say that they are prophets. Pharaoh, not believing this, says: You are magicians. I will gather my magicians and set them against you. If you prevail, I will believe in you and let your people go with you, he says, giving his word to Moses (peace be upon him).
But lo and behold, the words of non-Muslims, of unbelievers, of (?), of those who present themselves as god, are exactly like cigarette smoke that appears before a person's eyes and then disperses. Yes. They do not keep their word. In Pharaoh's time, the people of Israel lived in captivity in Egypt. The heaviest tasks were given to them. Thereupon Allah Almighty, so that Moses (peace be upon him) would rescue his people from the hands of the tyrant Pharaoh and also convey the truth, sent him to Pharaoh. After Moses reached an agreement with Pharaoh, on an appointed day Pharaoh gathers his magicians, and they perform magic against Moses (peace be upon him).
When Moses (peace be upon him), by Allah's command, undoes the magic, Pharaoh again does not believe Moses (peace be upon him) and does not keep his word. Thereupon Allah Almighty destroys Pharaoh's army. This verse, as we said, was explained in detail in the earlier verses. Yes.
