Hud 17: (Can be the same as the deniers), who depend on a clear sign which came from your Lord and followed by a witness from your Lord, and who are guided by the Book, sent as the frontier and Mercy, the Book of Moses? No, because they believe in this (the Qur’an). Among their different sects, the destination of the deniers is hellfire. Do not be in doubt about it, this is the Truth, revealed by your Lord. (Can be the same as the deniers), who depend on a clear sign which came from your Lord and followed by a witness from your Lord, and who are guided by the Book, sent as the frontier and Mercy, the Book of Moses? No, because they believe in this (the Qur’an). Among their different sects, the destination of the deniers is hellfire. Do not be in doubt about it, this is the Truth, revealed by your Lord. Yet most people do not believe it.
Tafsir
A clear proof from Allah is the Holy Qur'an. This is because Allah has proved that the Holy Qur'an is the Word of Allah in the previous verses. Another witness is the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who followed the Holy Qur'an and practiced the Qur'an by following its path. Also the Bible, the Psalms and the Torah that came before the Holy Qur'an and the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Would those who believe in these Books be like those who do not believe in the Prophets and Books of that time? Since they believe in the Prophets and Books of the time, they also believe in the Holy Qur'an.
Those who had the Bible, the Psalms and the Torah in their hands at the time of the Prophet (PBUH), who believed in these Books and in Allah, and when the true Prophet came, they believed in the Prophet and in the Qur'an. Whichever of the tribes denies that the Qur'an was sent by Allah, the meaning of the tribes here is the states that are divided into tribes on the earth. Whichever of the people in these states disbelieves in Allah and His Messenger, their destination is Hellfire.
By addressing the Prophet (PBUH), Allah (swt) is actually addressing all human beings. Because the Prophet (PBUH) came as a mercy to the worlds. This is a truth revealed by your Lord. Because Allah's promise is true. No creature can be as faithful to His word as Allah. So whoever strays from the path of Allah, disbelieves in Allah and the Last Day, disbelieves and disobeys, their destination will be Hellfire. What an evil place of return. He has turned an immortal life in the land of eternal bliss into a dungeon and a painful torment. These are cruel people who oppress their own souls.
And yet most of the people do not believe (HatamAllah 'u 'ala kulubihim wa 'ala semihim wa 'ala absarihim iqisawah wa lahum azabun azim) Their ears are plugged; they hear the truth but do not understand. Their eyes are blind; they cannot comprehend what they see. Their hearts are sealed; their senses are dulled; they do not understand the truth.
What is said in the video
We have come to Surah Hud, verse 17. A clear proof that has come from your Lord — the one who relies on the proof and whom a witness from his Lord follows, and who, besides, holds the book of Moses, which came before him as a guide and a mercy — is he like the deniers? Because these believe in it, that is, in the Quran. Whichever of the groups denies it, the fire of Hell is where it will end up. Let there be no doubt about this. For this, made known by your Lord, is the truth. But most people do not believe. Yes. Now, relying on a clear proof that came from your Lord — what is this clear proof?
It is this Quran we see here. Relying on a clear proof — if this were a human fabrication, in it you would find many words that contradict each other, says Allah Almighty. A clear proof, written by Allah and, as a mercy to people, sent before them as a proof to hear and hold on to — Allah's word.
Whom a witness from his Lord follows.
The prophets, the witnesses. And the one who also holds the book of Moses, which came before him as a guide and a mercy — is he like the deniers?
Because these believe in it, in the Quran. The one who holds the book of Moses. What does this mean? So here, regarding those who believe in the Torah, even if they do not believe in the Quran, because they hold the Torah, it might occur to us whether their religion is still valid here. Pay attention. What does it say? The one who holds the book of Moses as a mercy — is he like the deniers? The book of Moses. The book of Moses, also, of David, the prophet of the Israelites, (peace be upon him), the Psalms, and again, of the prophet of the Israelites, Jesus, the Gospel he brought — these books. By saying 'holds the book of Moses', since their origin is in the Quran, it means here those who believe in the Quran.
Pay attention here. If, with such people's literal understanding, this is perceived this way, they fall into kufr. Because Turkish has hardly an equivalent, the verses cannot be fully opened up. That is, their exact equivalent cannot be given. The meaning here — I read it again: The one who holds the book of Moses — is he like the deniers? In the book of Moses, the coming of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is there. If he holds that book of Moses — the one who believes in the book of Moses believed in the Quran too. He believed in the Quran too.
They turned their backs on their own books, too. They put fabrications into their own books, too. Yes. Because these, that is, in it — it continues. Because these believe in it, that is, in the Quran. See, now it has come. Do you see? Is the one who holds the book of Moses at all like the deniers? Because these — those who hold the book of Moses — believe in the Quran, it says. Do you see? Yes.
Whichever of the groups denies it, that is, denies the Quran, then the fire of Hell is where it will end up. If it denies the Quran. Let there be no doubt about this. None of the people of faith doubts this. But who are the doubters? People who do not believe. For this is the truth made known by your Lord. But most people do not believe. Now, in this verse we mentioned at the beginning, (?) and whom a witness from his Lord, from his Lord, follows. A witness from his Lord. The Prophet (peace be upon him), it said; it ties this up at the end anyway. What does it say? For this — now it continues, the witness, you see — is the truth made known by your Lord.
Is that so? Very well.
By what you say, not my Lord. It says 'your Lord'. Whose? The Lord of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Let's widen it a little. The Lord of his ummah. If I don't believe in the Prophet Muhammad,
Allah Almighty has already set me apart; by saying 'your Lord' He has set us apart. I don't believe anyway. Would he have a point in saying so? He would. The meaning here is very deep. Before creating the worlds from His light, Allah Almighty gave the Prophet His light. Then He gave him of His spirit. Of His spirit.
From his spirit He created the spirits of the prophets. From the spirits of the prophets He created the spirits of their peoples. Indirectly, all people were created from the spirit of the Prophet. By saying 'your Lord' He means the Lord of the worlds. Because since the worlds were created from his light and people from his spirit, by saying 'your Lord' He means the Lord who created the worlds. In this case, too, 've mâ erselnâke illâ rahmeten li'l-âlemîn' — mercy to the worlds — comes in. And also: had it not been for you, I would not have created the worlds. Since the worlds were created from him, they come into being from him.
Yes.
The verses. If people give them a literal meaning, they go very wrong. They fall into kufr, Allah protect us. Knowledge is essential. Here they will need knowledge.
The clear proof that came from Allah is the Quran. Because in the verses we have covered, Allah proved the Quran to be the word of Allah with evidence.
And the witness who follows it, that is, the Quran, walking its way and applying the Quran, is Muhammad (peace be upon him), our Prophet. Also, what came before the Quran itself and before the Prophet (peace be upon him) are the Gospel, the Psalms and the Torah. Are those who believe in these books like those who do not believe in the prophets and books of that time — can they be? Since they believe in the prophets and books of their time, in the Quran too they believe.
People chase after fabrications a lot. Fabrications.
We end this here.
We will of course continue with the verse.
They tell you that Gabriel is the spirit, don't they — the spirit. They say Gabriel is the spirit. Although I have told you many proofs, that is, although I have explained that the spirit is not Gabriel,
we will make one final emphasis that Gabriel is not the spirit.
Many Islamic sites and people put a spirit into the cat, the dog, the plant, don't they?
In living beings, in birds, in fish, in living beings there is a spirit, they say. Is that right? On the sites.
If Gabriel is the spirit too,
pay attention, if Gabriel is the spirit too, is Gabriel present in all living beings?
If Gabriel is the spirit, is he aware of all living beings, of the living beings? If Gabriel is the spirit, is he present and seeing everywhere with these living beings? Or, if Gabriel is the spirit, is there only one Gabriel? Or if, in these living beings given by Allah Almighty, who created seventeen thousand worlds, Gabriel is aware of them as the spirit, do you know what follows from this? Shirk follows, shirk. Shirk follows from this. What is this shirk? Only Allah is aware of what He created. If you bring Gabriel to all living beings and put him in as the spirit, if you call Gabriel the spirit, if you say 'spirit' and say there is a spirit in all living beings, then since Gabriel too is present and seeing in all living beings, in all created things, and would be informed of them all, you put Gabriel in Allah's place and fall into shirk.
Yes.
We close this point this way too. Never call Gabriel the spirit.
Gabriel is not the spirit. Those who ask you about the spirit — say: it is a command of my Lord. That is, (?) His own essence wherever He wishes sending it, sending it as an envoy, envoy — if a person like this can teach in several places, if from a particle, from a particle of the Prophet (peace be upon him), He created the spirits of all people who will come into the world, then since the universal spirit is Allah Almighty, you cannot call the spirit Gabriel. And you cannot drag people into shirk.
So this, too, has probably been understood. This has probably put the final point here too. For people. Yes.
So, in the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him), those who had the Gospel, the Psalms and the Torah in their homes, who believed in these books and in Allah, when the true prophets come, they believe in the Prophet and the Quran too. Yes.
Whichever of the groups, regarding the Quran being sent by Allah, denies it,
by 'groups' here is meant the states on earth, divided people by people. Whichever of the people within these states deny Allah and His Messenger, their destination is the fire of Hell.
Allah Almighty, by addressing the Prophet (peace be upon him), is in fact addressing all people. As I explained a moment ago.
Because the Prophet (peace be upon him), as a mercy to the worlds, has come. So this is a truth made known by your Lord. Because Allah's promise is true. No created being can be as faithful to its word as Allah. So whoever leaves Allah's path, in Allah and the Last Day does not believe, and is in denial and rebellion, their destination is the fire of Hell; what an evil place of return it is. They have turned the undying life of the eternal abode of bliss into a dungeon and a painful torment. These people are wrongdoers who wrong their own selves. Despite this, most people still do not believe. Their ears are blocked; they hear the truth but do not understand.
Their eyes are blind; they cannot grasp what they see. Their hearts are sealed; they are people whose feelings have gone numb. These do not understand the truth. Yes.
