“I depend on Allah, who is my Lord and your Lord because there is no walking being whom Allah has not grasped by its forelock. Verily, the path of my Lord (which Allah shows) is the straight path.”
Tafsir
I have relied on Allah, the Lord of my world and your worlds, for there is no God but Him. He is the Owner, Creator and Ruler of all these worlds.
Because (there is no creature that walks that is not grabbed by the scruff of its neck) scruff means the nape of the neck, the neck. To grab it by the nape of the neck means to neutralize it. It means to dominate it. Allah, Who is aware of every particle of the universe, declares that the walking and moving creatures cannot, of their own volition, leave Allah's view, that is, they cannot go out of this universe created by Allah, and that these people are under Allah's dominion of their own volition, that they cannot disobey Allah and rule over Him, and that no creature can make Allah incapacitated.
Surely Allah, the only One, guides His creatures in a straight path. He is merciful and compassionate to His creatures. He is the One who accepts the repentance of His servants when they repent. Believing in animate or inanimate creatures as gods and following them is to deviate from the center of a straight path.
What is said in the video
Surah Hud, verse 56: I have put my trust in Allah, my Lord and your Lord. For there is no moving creature whose forelock He has not seized. Surely He is on a straight path.
These are wrongly interpreted verses. Surah Hud, verse 56 — let us look at the verse. There must be a mistake there.
It seems so to me.
Yes. Wrong. Surah Hud, verse 56.
How did we understand that it is wrong? Here, because (?), this has not been opened up. How did we understand? Look what it says at the very end. Surely He is on a straight path, it says. About whom? It says it about Allah. And the path from Allah is a straight path.
What does it say here? Surely my Lord is on a straight path, it says. Whereas: surely the path my Lord shows is a straight path.
Now look at the meaning here. Surely my Lord is on a straight path. That is, Hud (peace be upon him) says of Allah Almighty that He is on a straight path. That is how they understand it. Whereas the path my Lord shows is a straight path. He shows it to me. He is on the right path anyway. Who am I to say of Allah Almighty that He is on a straight path? And who am I to comprehend Him so as to know that He is on a straight path? And so as to be able to judge about someone. But if I know Him as the Creator, free of deficient attributes, perfect, then the path He shows me, the path He shows, becomes a straight path for me.
Isn't that so? One must pay attention to the words.
Right away with the verses, the translations — when Allah is given attributes, it sticks out anyway. So how will you still go on accusing Allah Almighty of deficiency? How will you still (?) the one who tells the truth? The question of this, the inquiry of this, the weight of this burden, how will you answer for it in Allah's presence?
Yes.
Surely the path He shows is a straight path. Yes. Hud (peace be upon him) says to his people: I, on Allah, the Lord of the worlds, mine and yours, have relied, he says.
We passed a word there, and I was going to remind you of something.
Whether you deny Him or not, surely one day in His presence you will be called to account, it says. Is that so? It is. There is a verse. These are all the equivalents of verses anyway. Every soul will taste death, and your return is to Me, it says. All the talks are the equivalents of verses. Whatever sentence I read here, it is the equivalent of a verse.
If you repent to Allah, you will attain salvation. Now, what I was going to say at this point was this. Earlier I told you that people will ask themselves: Who am I? Why did I come into the world? With my duty. If you cannot ask this, you are people who, within your own ideas, within your own world, live your own freedom and, without being questioned by anyone at all, by your own will carry on your life, say is there a hereafter or not, and, well, fill your lifetime in the world and pass on — carrying on your life that way, that is the state you are in.
Instead, I said, there is such a yoke on your neck — if only you could comprehend it. If only you could comprehend that yoke.
Since every person will receive reward and sin for what he does, since he will receive reward and sin for every word he speaks, although man seems left to himself, that yoke on his neck, that is, Allah being a watcher over him, a watcher over His creations, and calling them to account for what they did — the person comprehending this and knowing it in his own being, that is comprehending the yoke on his neck.
Hud (peace be upon him) to his people: I, on Allah, the Lord of the worlds, mine and yours, have relied. Because there is no god but Him. He is the Owner, Creator and Ruler of all these worlds. For there is no moving creature whose forelock He has not seized. So there are meanings here. Perhaps we explained it, perhaps not, I don't know. Let me explain it to you here. Whose forelock He has not seized. That is: We programmed these worlds with a program. No one can step outside this program by his resolve and wish.
There is not a single living being to come until the Day of Judgment of whom We do not know what it will not do.
Allah Almighty — that the living beings He created are not left to themselves; even though He Himself programmed them, surely those living beings He will one day gather in His presence and question them too, have their rights taken from one another and then annihilate them — that is what it means. Because when the animals are gathered, it says. Their rights will be taken from them too, and they will take their rights from one another and vanish. So there is no walking creature whose forelock He has not seized. That is, to leave it to itself and, (?), within its own will, let's say, within its own reason, let it steer itself.
All of it is within a program. Within Allah's command, and at the end all of them returning to Allah and taking their rights from one another — this symbolizes Allah Almighty's attribute of justice here. It symbolizes that our Lord is aware of all His creations, from the atom to the sphere. It symbolizes that there is no god but Allah. It symbolizes that all His creations are under His rule.
Yes. Yes. The verse.
For there is no moving creature whose forelock He has not seized. The forelock is between the nape and the neck. Holding it by the nape means (?) it. It means ruling over it. Allah, who is aware of every particle of the universe, surely declares that walking and moving creatures, within their own wills, cannot leave Allah's sight, that is, cannot step outside this universe Allah created, and that these people, with their own wills, are under Allah's rule, that they cannot oppose Allah and rule over Him, that no being can leave Allah (?). So the one Allah is surely upon a straight path.
Yes. That is, He is upon a straight path in that He shows people a straight path. He is merciful and compassionate toward His creations. When His servants repent, He is the one who accepts their repentance. Believing in created living or lifeless things as gods and following after them, however, is straying onto crooked paths in the middle of a straight path. Yes.
