Translation
As if they never lived there. Know that the nation of Thamud truly denied their Lord. And know that the nation of Thamud has been expelled (from Allah’s mercy).
Tafsir
The people of Thamud, who were destroyed in their homeland in return for the calamities Allah (swt) had given them, were as if they had never dwelt in their homeland. Their land and buildings were flattened and they were no more.
Allah's power is not only for human beings. He is also capable of destroying the universe in an instant. In fact, on the Day of Resurrection, everything will be destroyed. Then Allah (swt) will create the worlds again. Allah has the power. At the same time, God is the All-knowing Creator with knowledge and He is all-powerful.
Prophet Salih left the town after the destruction of his people. According to one narration, he migrated to Mecca, and according to another narration, to the city of Jerusalem, where he is said to have passed away.
Allah (swt) describes these events to people so clearly and as if they happened in our time, as if they are happening now. His intention in saying that the people of Thamud really disbelieved in their Lord by addressing all future people is that Allah is not unjust to His servants. When this people asked Allah for a miracle, Allah fulfilled their wish. Then they took Allah lightly and did not believe in Him, as if mocking Him. Allah (swt) says: "Know that the people of Thamud disbelieved in their Lord, and that they were the ones who disbelieved in Allah when they made a covenant with Allah at Kalu Bela. Again, you should know that the people of Thamud were excluded from Allah's mercy. So We will keep them away from Our mercy in the Hereafter. They will have neither a helper nor an intercessor.
Here Allah (swt) draws people's attention to something by narrating these events and saying, "Know that". If these people, because of their rebellion against Allah, will be deprived of Allah's mercy, deprived of His mercy, and subjected to the torment and torment of the eternal abode, then Allah demands obedience to Him. O man! Won't you become wise by being told of these miracles and learn from them, and will you be treated differently from the way your ancestors were treated as long as you follow in the footsteps of your ancestors? Will you be deceived by the temporary pleasures of this world's life and turn your back on Allah? And will you not use your intellect? Allah (swt) warns us. He gives us life with His verses and sheds light in front of us. It is because Allah is so compassionate and merciful to His servants that He brings all sorts of parables to people so that they will turn to Him. Out of mercy for the people, to save them from a painful torment.
What is said in the video
Surah Hud, verse 68 — here we are. As if they had never lived there. Not even their names remained; in an instant they vanished with a single cry. Know that the people of Thamud truly denied their Lord.
I am deeply moved by these verses.
Allah Almighty — look — takes those who know Him as witnesses: witness — know that the people of Thamud truly denied their Lord. Us too He takes as witnesses: and know that the people of Thamud were kept far from Allah's mercy. Yes.
In return for the calamities Allah Almighty gave them, in their land the destroyed people of Thamud were as if they had never lived and settled in their homes. Their places and the buildings they made were flattened; from their homes not even their names remained.
So
Allah's power is not only over people. He is able to destroy the universe once more. He is able to destroy the universe too in an instant, in an instant. And at the Last Day everything will crash into everything else, kün fe yekün will happen. Then Allah Almighty will create the worlds again. Allah is the possessor of power. At the same time Allah is the All-Knowing who creates with His knowledge, and He is able to do all things. As for the Prophet Salih, he left the town with the destruction of his people. According to one report to Mecca, according to another to the city of Jerusalem he migrated and died there, it is said, the Prophet Salih.
Allah Almighty, these events, so clearly, as if lived in our time, tells people with His verses, as if they had happened just now.
Addressing all people to come, in saying "Know that the people of Thamud truly denied their Lord," what He means is that Allah is not unjust to His servants. This people asked Allah for a miracle, and Allah fulfilled their wishes. Then, taking Allah lightly, as if mocking Him, they did not believe in Allah. And Allah Almighty, with "Know that the people of Thamud truly denied their Lord," — when they made the covenant with Allah at Kalu Bela, these were the ones who denied Allah — is what He declares. And know that the people of Thamud were made far from Allah's mercy. That is, in the Hereafter too We will keep them far from Our mercy.
They will have neither a helper nor an intercessor. Yes. By saying it this way, Allah Almighty, to people, to all people, calling out: "O people, from the destructions I have carried out in the past, from My pardoning people, from My forgiving, from My greatness, from My existence, take lessons," He says. Lessons. Who? Whoever, against the command of Allah — who subsists by Himself, created the worlds and is our Owner — rebels, will not escape punishment in this world, nor in the Hereafter an eternal punishment — so He informs us. In that case, O human, use your reason. "I will call you to account for not using your reason," He says.
And by this passing world's rosy-looking worldly life, do not be deceived, and into the world's swamp do not let yourselves slide. Do not head toward the fire prepared for the disbelievers. Do not be deceived by the lies of the two-legged taghut. Against the temptations Satan gives your nafs — according to His verse saying, "To My servant who knows Me, Satan's temptation is (?)" — not being deceived by theirs, that is, by the temptation Satan gives a person, holding fast to Allah's verses, if we take our place beside our Lord, in this world both a victory and a peace we attain, and in the Hereafter heirs to both victory and the paradises Allah promised we become.
And that is the true victory. Yes.
And know that Thamud was made far from Allah's mercy. That is, in the Hereafter too We will distance them from Our mercy. They will have neither a helper nor an intercessor. Here Allah Almighty, by telling these events and saying "know that," draws people's attention to one point. Since these peoples, through their rebellion against Allah — Allah withdrawing His mercy from them — deprived of Allah's mercy, to the pain and punishment of the eternal abode are to be subjected, then He wants obedience to Allah. Yes.
O human, with these miracles told to you too, will you not, taking a lesson from them, come to your senses? As long as you follow in your forefathers' footsteps, will you, unlike what your forefathers received, be treated differently? Deceived by the passing pleasures of worldly life, will you turn your back on Allah? So will you not use your reason? Allah Almighty is warning us. Giving us life with His verses, He holds a light before us. Because Allah is so compassionate and merciful to His servants, so that His servants turn to Him, He brings people every kind of comparison. It is out of His mercy to people, so that He may save them from a painful punishment.
