Translation

(Lot) said; “If only I had a power against you or if I could seek refuge in a strong fort.”

Tafsir

Hadrat Lot realizes that there is no salvation from the hands of his people and in desperation he says, "If only I had the power to resist you! He says. The implication is that there were no believers among his people. If there had been believers in Hadrat Lot, this group of believers would have stood by Hadrat Lot and this unruly tribe would not have gone so far. This means that Hadrat Lot (peace be upon him) was also an outcast among his people. Even his wife was one of those who did not believe in him. In this respect, he was one of those who were left behind. Or if there was a strong castle, he said, I could take shelter there. In his helplessness, he expressed his devotion to his guests and his desire that no harm should come to them, but he did not have the strength to resist this unruly and perverse people.

What is said in the video

Lot said: If only I had the strength to stand against you, or could take refuge in a strong fortress.

If only I could take refuge in a strong fortress. He is so hard-pressed by now. He falls into such a bad state. Allah's... would Allah leave them all alone?

Everyone is being tested, tested. A prophet, but the prophet too is in a test; they do not say: We, what we are, do not grieve; in the end, at the end of the test they will say it.

Lot (peace be upon him) realises there is no escape from his people's hands, and in helplessness says: If only I had the strength to stand against you. From this the meaning emerges that among Lot's (peace be upon him) people too there was no believer; if there had been believers in Lot (peace be upon him), this believing group would have taken its place beside Lot (peace be upon him), and this rebellious people could not have gone so far. So Lot (peace be upon him) too was among those cast out and left alone among their people. Alone. Yes. Always it comes, it comes. To this commentary we have written it comes, to me it always comes, to this it comes.

People do not become disbelievers all at once. People do not worship idols all at once. So how does it happen? Slowly, as superstitions creep in, Allah and His Messenger (?), sir, and by ascribing attributes to Allah again and again, slowly, superstitions and falsehoods by believing them; for example, Umar says: Cut down that tree, he has the tree cut down; bid'ah was being done under it, bid'ah. Would Umar have a tree cut down? But he has the tree cut down. Because people came under it and tied wishes. Wishes. Are there not people tying wishes today? Those who seek help from saints. Those who (?) there.

Those who stick stones (?). Yes. That is how, slowly, slowly, they fall into falsehood, people. And since Allah Almighty will keep His religion, His religion's rule in force until the Day of Judgement, His religion, since He will keep its rule in force until the Day of Judgement, for that reason, scholars He raises. Scholars. Because Allah Almighty holds no one accountable for what He has not made known.

In that case, the scholars He raises try the superstitions that have entered the religion, to the extent of their strength, with Allah's help, to remove. And Allah helps them. How does He help? He raises them Himself. He gives knowledge, and with the knowledge of the Quran, the words that entered the Quran ascribing attributes to Allah these find and take out. In this case Allah Almighty proves it in this verse: We hold no one accountable for what We have not made known.

So here is a prophet left alone among a huge people. Among a huge people.

We have seventy-six million Muslims, so many Muslims, Except these verses, except these verses, yes, these verses you see, except these translations you see, the translations, the translations are no different from the Gospel. No different from the Gospel.

In this way, as falsehood creeps in, distancing and distancing from Allah, ascribing and ascribing attributes to the Prophet, falsehoods enter and people drift away from the religion. But since no prophet will come again, since with the Seal of the Prophets, our master Muhammad, Allah Almighty ends prophethood, this is how, by raising scholars, He has such falsehoods removed from the religion. He tries to make it heard. Did you hear? You heard. You heard. There is no 'you did not hear'. Allah makes it heard.

Did you come to faith? Did you see the truth? You saw. Did you not abide by it? You did not. The burden is on you. Did Lot also convey Allah's command to you? He did. Although he was left alone among so many people, according to the verse: Allah holds no one accountable for (?) He has not made known, Lot fulfilled his duty. Whether they believe or not. I too have fulfilled my duty. Whether they come to the truth or not.

Yes. And we do our duty. No one can change anyone's destiny. No one has the authority to change anyone's destiny. So everyone comes to this world to prove themselves. Comes to prove what kind of person they are. In the verse too it says: Did you think that you would die without proving what kind of person you are? So, since a person, to prove what kind of person he is, came into the world, and since Allah Almighty, like the prophets and messengers He sent to other peoples, will not send a prophet, and since He will not leave the people to come until the Day of Judgement uninformed, will not leave them uninformed of the religion, those people of whom it was said: My ummah's (?) is like (?) prophet, Allah Almighty raises. He raises.

He sends these scholars to people to make the truth heard.

People who hear the truth come if they wish, or do not come if they wish. Within their own destiny. Why did you not come here? Why did you not come to faith, why did you see the truth and not act on it, no one can force anyone. Because no one can change anyone's destiny. There is only the conveying, that is all, amr bil-ma'ruf.

If forcing were the way, so as to leave on earth not a single disbeliever, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), our master, would have forced them. My beloved, do not mind their denying you; in their time too they betrayed Me. If forcing were the way, Allah would have forced them. If We had willed, We would have created you as one single ummah, it says. One single ummah. And Allah left them free in their own will. He wrote each person's wish and desire for them as destiny. So our conveying, too, is to show the truth. The things slipped into the Quran, the wrong (?), the ascribing of attributes to Allah, to prevent these, I make it known to people as one who conveys, as a witness charged with a duty.

Whether you come or not. The matter depends on a person's understanding within his own destiny. On the covenant he gave to Allah. Yes. I compare myself, too, with Lot and with the other prophets. Just as few people believed in the prophets, here too people are a few select people. Those who listen to us, who listen continually, and who truly see the truth and are with the truth. Like a prophet's companions, like the noble Companions, select people. Yes. That is how I see it.

As for the rest, because of their own nafs and whims, what we tell them annoys them. Because it is true. The truth whips up a person's carnal feelings and drives a person into crises. As long as a person cannot reform his nafs, he lives these feelings. Yes.

Lot said: If only I had the strength to stand against you, or could in a strong fortress take refuge. Lot (peace be upon him) realises that from his people's hands there is no escape, and in helplessness says: If only I had the strength to stand against you. From this the meaning emerges that Lot (peace be upon him) too had no believers among his people; if there had been believers in Lot (peace be upon him), this believing group would have taken its place beside Lot (peace be upon him). This rebellious people could not have gone so far. So Lot (peace be upon him) too was among those cast out and left alone among their people.

Even his wife was among those who did not believe in him. Therefore she was among those who took their place among those left behind. Or, if there were a strong fortress, if only I could take refuge there, he said. In helplessness, his loyalty to his guests and his wish that no harm come to them, but that he did not have the strength to stand against this rebellious and perverted people, he thus expressed.
