(Shuayb - Jethro) said; “Oh my people! Is my tribe stronger than Allah according to you, that you put Allah aside and forgot about Allah? Verily, my Lord encompasses what you are doing.”
Tafsir
(Shu'ayb): (He said: "O my people, is my tribe more powerful and valuable to you than Allah that you have forgotten it (Allah's commands) behind your back?") This indicates that his people and his tribe were also created by Allah. In this case, you do not fear Allah, but you fear my tribe. You are disobeying Allah's commands by throwing Allah's commands on you behind your back. You are also disobeying Allah and associating partners with Him through fabricated religions that you attach to your gods that you have invented according to your own minds. Since Allah is the owner of justice, He will never let people get away with what they have done.
(Surely my Lord is all-encompassing of what you do.) Surely Allah sees and knows what every creature in the universe does and what it is engaged in. Therefore, He knows what you are doing and what is going on in your hearts. He surrounds you with what you do. The meaning of encircling here is. Allah is the owner of justice. He does not let any human being off the hook for what he has done. This people's associating partners with Allah, betraying trusts, and cheating in the weighing of the scales, and Allah's inflicting a calamity on them means that He will surround them with torment.
What is said in the video
We explain. However much of what I explain stays in your minds, that much stays with the gentleman too.
In that case, let's start over again. From the beginning. Maybe this time my Lord, from another angle, will grant some inspirations. We'll explain it that way.
Shuayb (peace be upon him), by our Lord's command, goes to his people as a prophet and his people know, perhaps in the verse: if it weren't for your tribe, we would have stoned you to death, they say. And Shuayb (peace be upon him) answers. What does he say? "O my people," he said. "Is my tribe, in your view, mightier and more valuable than Allah, that you have cast Him, Allah's commands, behind your backs and forgotten Him?" That is, you have forgotten our Lord. "Surely my Lord encompasses all that you do." That is, did you think you came into existence in the world by yourselves? Our Lord who created the worlds, our Lord who created the worlds, first in the barzakh created our souls. With our souls created in the realm of Lahut, at the address Elestü bi Rabbiküm He made a covenant.
And at a certain time He raised us to the barzakh. Each soul whose time had come, He sent to the world. Did you think the people coming into this world exist by themselves? Did you think you were strong through your tribes, through your lineage? he says. Shuayb (peace be upon him). That is, is my tribe mightier than Allah, that you did not fear Allah but feared my tribe? Allah, who brought these worlds into being from nothing, you never (?). he says. Shuayb (peace be upon him). Yes. Here again, let's not say what we talked about in the past, but since recordings were made of our earlier talks, let's relay it.
We said: why did Allah Almighty send man to the world and send him messengers? Messengers.
At the address Elestü bi Rabbiküm, where we made a covenant with Allah Almighty, He showed His essence openly to us. Openly. We were honored with His essence.
Let's prove that we were honored with His essence. We recite the word of testimony. We say: Eşhedü en la ilahe illallah ve eşhedü enne Muhammeden abdühü ve Resulühü.
Pay attention to the testimony we say. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah. And Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, we say. Now, does Allah make us bear witness to something we did not see? That would not befit Allah's majesty; He does not push us into false witness. So what is meant by the word of testimony is that at the address Elestü bi Rabbiküm each of our souls, each of us, saw our Lord and we said: yes, You are our Lord, and the one beside You, the Prophet Muhammad, is Your servant and messenger, and there we joined the Ashab al-Maymanah, the Ashab al-Maymanah group. There we joined them.
Another group, because they saw Allah Almighty as like their own selves, they, the people of the left, turned to denial. Because they saw Allah Almighty like themselves, as they saw themselves, out of their pride and arrogance they could not picture Allah Almighty as Lord, and denied that He is Allah, and waited for the Lord of their own imagination. In that case Allah Almighty says: they will not be able to see their Lord. Yes. That is why Allah Almighty, since He is free of any deficient attribute, sends us to the world. Our Lord. Why does He send us to the world? Because He is free of deficient attributes.
So that you would not say: had You warned us in the world with Your prophets, with Your messengers, had You made known Your essence, we would have worshipped You there and been among the believers — so that you would not say this, for that, We sent you to the world, which is a hidden realm, He says. Here, our Lord being seen and known with these eyes is not possible. Not possible. No eye can encompass and comprehend Him. No eye. That is, encompassing and comprehending: this is my Lord, and I saw Him. I comprehended. That should be the 102nd verse there. Probably Surah At-Tawbah. But He encompasses all the worlds and comprehends them.
There it says all the eyes; He encompasses and comprehends them. That is, He contains and sees. He knows.
In that case, as we said, since Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes, He sends people to the realm of mulk. Let them shut the doors gently. Tell them. Who is it?
Yes.
Now we continue with the verse. Shuayb said: O my people. Is my tribe, in your view, mightier and more valuable than Allah, that you cast Him, Allah's commands, behind your backs and forgot? By saying this he makes known that his people and his tribe were also created by Allah. That's what he declares. Yes. Here we wrote "it is declaring". Let's make that "is his declaring".
So: you do not fear Allah, but you are wary of my people, he said. Did you find it? There. The 102nd verse. Al-An'am 103, Hodja. Surah Al-An'am. They've written it wrong anyway. Look, let me show you that part now. They wrote it wrong. What did they write wrong? The 102nd verse. Yes. You'll see it here now. "Eyes cannot see Him, whereas He sees the eyes. He is the One who knows things very well, who is aware of everything." This is right in a way. Wrong, but right in a way. In a way. Now how it is right in a way and where it went wrong, we'll read.
What does it say?
No eye can comprehend Him and see Him, it says. Look. No eye can comprehend and see Him as "this is my Lord". From here he took it and said "eyes cannot see Him". That is, he took a shortcut. Eyes cannot see Him — but here: lâ tüdrikühü'l-ebsâr: the eyes see Him encompassingly and cannot comprehend Him. Comprehending, no. They see. They cannot comprehend.
ve hüve yüdrikü'l-ebsâr ve hüve yüdrikü 'l-ebsâr. Whereas, it says, He sees all the eyes and encompasses them, comprehends them. He is the One aware of everything. Now, a moment ago we said no human can see; this part we won't stir up, we said, we'll pass over it. Now it goes in there, goes in there, and now if I told you, if I asked: is Allah Almighty free of deficient attributes or not? What would you say? Yes, He is free of them. That's why "there is none" does not exist for Him, right? There is no "none". So will He also answer all the questions to be asked as well? That is, will a person be cut off from asking?
Say we said: my Allah, if only I had seen You once in the world too. If we said that. Yes. You cannot see, we cannot comprehend, but did You appear, I wonder? Of course, He will say. Of course. At such-and-such place, such-and-such place, such-and-such place, such-and-such place. Of course. But you cannot comprehend. Now when you say no eye can see Him, pay attention to this. The eyes see Him encompassingly — that is, if we say the eyes cannot see Him, if we say the eyes cannot see Him, now that this part is wrong, we will prove with a verse.
We'll prove it with a verse.
Look what
does it say now? In Surah As-Sajdah, verse 12: the time when those sinners, bowing their heads before their Lord, will say: Our Lord, we have seen, we have heard; now send us back to the world so we may do good deeds, now we firmly believe — if only you could see it, it says. Well, weren't the eyes unable to see Him? If Allah Almighty's word is both outward and inward, then the eyes do see Him. So they see but cannot comprehend in the world; they see but cannot comprehend. And that's why they say Allah cannot be seen anyway. Well, did I make a covenant with someone who cannot be seen? Who did you make a covenant with?
Here the verses have all been interpreted as contradicting one another. But the verses we interpret always open up confirming one another.
Now, the eyes seeing Allah Almighty but being unable to encompass and comprehend Him is something different. That is, me seeing Allah as "this is Allah" is one thing. And seeing but not understanding is another. Yes, you see but you cannot understand. Those are the places we don't press on, places people cannot grasp. That's why we don't want to go into these much. And then they say this man dived deep into religion, he's of the (?) class. Whereas, due to lack of knowledge, people attribute qualities to Allah; they are not aware. And so the Prophet (peace be upon him), to protect us, says this hadith.
Speak to them according to their intellect, he says. Here too he protects us. But when it gets forced and we go in here, when I try to explain the truth to you, two verses will confirm each other.
Those people who have a longing for knowledge, people who say "I am somebody", here, among their own supporters, start objecting. And with a bit of Arabic, a bit of memorization, according to their own minds, they start to circumscribe Allah and explain Him. And then they put you into the (?) class too. now the truth is being seen, probably, yes and what do our ancestors say, the ancestors' saying it is not for nothing that it points us: whoever comes to your door is Khidr, every day of yours is Qadr, that is, every day (?) your Lord may also appear. And whoever comes to your door, Khidr — don't turn him away empty, it says.
Give for Allah's sake. Yes. People have drifted very far from the truths. They are ruled by superstitions. Why? Because the nafs loves superstitions very much. Because they are in its favor. What will they say? Write this verse of the Quran and put it in your pocket. For a year, your sins (?) Whatever you do, your sins go away. Allah Allah. That's what they say. Naturally a person's nafs will like these. He'll steal, swindle, rob, lie. The verse is in (?), after all; for that one year his sins won't be written as sins. What are they trying to drive people to? How they are trying to degenerate the religion of Islam.
What things do the scoundrels who don't fear Allah say?
Yes.
So he said: not fearing Allah, are you wary of the people, of my people?
Allah's commands that are upon you, that are upon you, you cast behind your backs, opposing Allah's commands. Moreover, through the made-up religions you patched onto the gods you invented by your own minds, you oppose Allah. And you ascribe partners to Him. Since Allah is the Owner of justice, He certainly won't let people get away with what they've done. Of course.
This time what I explained is probably not like that one, right? More different? A bit more different. Once again, if you explain it, it goes another way. Every coming, every telling is different. Sometimes from above, sometimes from below; whatever He gives, there's ease in it. We're an empty reed flute; whatever is blown into it, we bring out as (?). Yes, surely my Lord will encompass all around what you are doing. Well, if Allah Almighty encompasses and comprehends all eyes, surely He has not created all the worlds outside His own rule. That's why Allah Almighty, in His verse, says of His essence: He is able to do all things.
He created everything within His own rule. Yes.
Surely Allah sees what every living being in the universe does and what work it is busy with, and knows it. He knows. Because He programmed them. According to that program, there is no living being to come until Doomsday of which We would not know what it will do, He says. So, as a result of that program, the times too are programmed; according to the times, causes come into being; according to those causes, those living beings, performing their acts, secure their provision. They maintain their lives. And humans and jinn prove what kind of beings they are.
Everything is within the program.
In this respect He also knows what you do and what you go through in your affairs. He encompasses you all around with what you do. What does this mean? Encompasses all around. Well, Hodja, we're not that ignorant. If we sit here and a soldier surrounds us, or people surround us, all around we've been encircled. he says. But here it's not like that. The meaning of encompassing all around here is a very different meaning. People don't come and surround you all around. Or soldiers don't come, surround you all around and destroy you. What you do is written as a deed. What you do is written as a deed.
Fe men ya'mel miskâle zerratin hayran yerah. Your good of an atom's weight is written. And your evil of an atom's weight is written too. Without proving what kind of person you are, did you think Paradise is ours just like that — according to that verse. What kind of person you are, by what you have done, through his actual deeds, a person causes himself to be encompassed all around. And Allah Almighty: Eleysallahu bi ahkemi'l-hâkimîn. Since He is the Judge of judges, on the Day of Judgment these, without any way to escape anywhere, are encompassed all around there. All around. Is there a verse? There is. That they are encompassed all around, there's a verse for that too.
They will call their kin, it says. And We will call the Zabaniyah, it says.
What does Zabaniyah mean? That is, no one can match their strength; they will surround them and, without any way of escape, lift them in through the (?) gate of Hell and throw them in.
There, they've been encompassed. In the world too, if they exceed the limit, they are destroyed. They are encompassed all around.
Since in our time they aren't destroyed, they are encompassed all around by calamities. By calamities. Yes.
Let's see what we said here as the meaning of encompassing. Allah is just. He lets no person get away with what they've done. This people ascribing partners to Allah, betraying trusts, and also cheating on the scales — it means Allah giving them calamity and encompassing them with punishment. Yes, the same meanings. We open it up a bit more. Yes.
