When your Lord seizes the nations (and their people) that commit injustice, this is how Allah seizes. Verily, Allah’s seizing is very severe, very harsh.
Tafsir
When He seizes those who do not fulfill the commands of Allah and oppress others and themselves, when His command comes to them, it is the command of destruction. There is no one to save the people of that country.
Such is the severity of Allah's capture. For Allah is the Punisher of those who disobey Allah in this world and the Hereafter. In this world He will destroy the inhabitants of the land as a lesson for those who come after them. He turns them into a field of harvested crops.
Verily, the torment of Allah is severe. Allah's capture is painful and severe. There are great signs in these for a people who understand.
What is said in the video
When your Lord seizes the towns that do wrong, when He seizes their people, His seizing is severe like this. Surely His seizing is most painful. And very harsh. How beautifully Allah Almighty warns us in this verse. He tells us: O people, since We call no generation to account that We have not informed, if, because of the evils a town's people have done, their injustice and their pressing against Allah's limits, when We send them a warner, they do not listen to this warner, follow the desires of their selves and abandon the truth, then We seize that town's people, He says. We seize. Then it cannot catch us.
Destruction is gone. Destruction was back then.
In place of destructions there are calamities. He rains down whatever He wills wherever He wills. He destroys whatever place He wills at whatever moment He wills. Look how He rained calamities down on Germany. On China such a calamity (?) that for several days there tornadoes, floods and the like went on. Now we hear of tornadoes in America, all over the world. We hear of these. So if you say that, by the verses, destruction has been lifted and there is no more seizing, you are mistaken. Since Allah's verses hold until the Day of Judgment, you cannot know where, when and with what He will seize you.
People who do not carry out Allah's commands, who wrong those around them and themselves — when Allah Almighty seizes them, that is, when the command comes for them, a command of destruction or of calamity, this command, which in those old times was the command of destruction, then there is no one to save that town, that town's people. If a command has gone out from Allah, there is no turning it back. For example, a man — you passed a death sentence on him. Influential people stepped in. You saved him from execution. You took it back. We are human — do we do this? We do, (?). In court, by giving bribes, (?) and so on to judges, a 20-year, 30-year heavy prison sentence, 5-6 (?).
For example, (?). But because Allah is just and wise, if a command has gone out from Him, there is no turning it back. As long as it does not go out. Yes.
Indeed, for a people who believe in Allah and the Hereafter and have faith, surely in these events there are lessons. Because Allah is Hayy. Hayy means the Living, the One who gives life to the worlds.
All the worlds find life from Allah, but Allah is free of the worlds. That Allah Almighty is outside time and space, that His creations within time and space are in need of Allah, and that Allah Almighty is not in need of His creations — this lies within the attribute Hayy.
He gives life to His creations and remains forever, before and after. His creations are not left to roam free and without responsibility. None of His creations is left to roam free and without responsibility. People seem as if they roam free, as if without responsibility, but if they truly knew the truth — under such a responsibility, that on their necks there is a yoke — if only they knew, if only they knew — listen carefully. What am I saying? If only they knew, they would fall into the state that this hadith describes. If man knew the truth, it says, he would laugh little and weep much, it says. Yes, what does this mean?
You seem without responsibility, but at every moment, on your right and left, what the Kiraman Katibin write, every moment, everything you say, seen as under a camera, and on the Day of Judgment your whole life brought before you down to the finest detail — in the face of the blessings Allah Almighty offers you in such abundance, what kind of attitude your conduct took toward Allah Almighty, toward your Creator — yes. If people could have known these responsibilities, they would laugh little and weep much.
That is why Allah Almighty, so that people too could live a certain life, created them of the kind that forgets. If we did not forget our past states and lived immersed in them, life would be torment for us.
In this case, our Lord's mercy: His creating us of the kind that forgets, programming us that way,
giving us an incomplete mind, limiting our mind this way so that, before the loftiness of His being, we know our helplessness; and that, living a normal life, we recognize our Creator and, so as not to be ungrateful for the blessings He has given and for this life, have an awareness able to offer our thanks — our knowing our Lord's greatness and our own helplessness symbolizes our being human. That is, it symbolizes our being, as a part from our Lord, addressed by Him. In this case, so as not to be ungrateful toward our Creator either, giving thanks for the blessings He gave, going on the path He gave, and even if we commit errors — and we do, for He did not create us without error — the errors we have committed also fit Allah Almighty's purpose in creating, so right away, with a repentance, since we will also attain (?) from the Hereafter, in Allah's sight it raises our rank.
Yes. As human beings we are under a great responsibility. We are not left to roam free.
