Tafsir

Allah (swt) also narrates the story of Prophet Yusuf (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) from the events of the past, so that the people who are the ummah of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and all the people who will come until the Day of Judgment may take lessons from them and surrender to Allah (swt) in the religion of Islam, the religion of truth, and the wahdatness of Allah (swt).

Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' told his father Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm' about the dream he had one night. He said that eleven stars, the sun and the moon prostrated to him. Hazrat Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm understood from the interpretation of the dream that Hazrat Yusuf would be subject to great ranks in the sight of Allah and said, "Do not tell your dream to your brothers.

When Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' had this dream, he was twelve years old according to one narration and seventeen years old according to another. Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm had eleven brothers. Benjamin and Joseph were from the same mother and their other brothers were from different mothers.

The interpretation of the dream is that the eleven stars are the brothers of Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm'. The sun represents his father, Hadrat Ya'qub, and the moon represents his mother. It has been interpreted that Hazrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' will reach great heights and that these people will be in need of Hazrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm'.

What is said in the video

we have read, I think. We have come to the fourth verse of Surah Yusuf.

Once Joseph had said to his father, Jacob: My dear father, in my dream I saw eleven stars, and the sun and the moon. I saw them prostrating before me, he says. Yes. Eleven stars, the sun and the moon. a sign that he will be a prophet. Their prostrating before him. (?)

Here Allah Almighty also tells the story of Joseph (peace be upon him), one of the past events. It is so that the people of the community of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and all people to come until the Day of Judgment, taking lessons from these, with the true religion of Islam, submit to Allah in the face of His oneness. Also the Jewish people, the Children of Israel, the verses in the Torah books they have in their hands, we will say. By Allah Almighty sending it in the Quran, the Children of Israel, about the Prophet (peace be upon him), that his views are true, that is, that he is the Messenger of Allah, in order to prove it, this time (?) (?) or within the verses, he tells the story of Joseph (peace be upon him) here.

Joseph (peace be upon him) saw the dream one night and to his father Jacob (peace be upon him) he tells it. He says eleven stars, the sun and the moon prostrated before him. Jacob (peace be upon him), in interpreting the dream, understands that Joseph will reach great ranks in the sight of Allah, and says: do not tell the dream to your brothers.

The eleven stars he mentions are his brothers; the sun and the moon his father and mother, the situation as it was interpreted. Just as the sun gives life to the world, and the moon brings about the lunar calendar, giving people time, the lunar calendar set in the sky; (peace be upon him) this shows that he will be the head of people, that he will give them life and, over time, protect them, that is, tell them, tell them the truth. The verse and the dream. So Jacob (peace be upon him), since he interpreted the dream well, says: do not tell it to your brothers. They will become your enemies. Yes. Eleven stars: a position above his brothers.

They already envy you and will do you harm, he says.

He understands that Joseph will reach great ranks in the sight of Allah, and says: do not tell the dream to your brothers.

When Joseph (peace be upon him) had this dream, according to reports he was 12, according to one report 17 years old.

Joseph (peace be upon him) had 11 brothers. Of these, Benjamin and Joseph were from the same mother, the other brothers from a different mother. As for the interpretation of the dream, the 11 stars are the brothers of Joseph (peace be upon him). The sun represents his father Jacob (peace be upon him), the moon his mother. It was interpreted that Joseph (peace be upon him) would reach great ranks and these people would come to need Joseph (peace be upon him). Yes. Now, although it is said like this here, that is, the sun is his father, the moon his mother, when it is said they prostrate before him: a human does not prostrate before a human.

Yes, the reports say so too. Although it has been written this way among us, as I said earlier, the sun gives life to the world, and the moon, the lunar calendar, determines people's times. So Allah sending to the people of the time the one who will bring them out of darkness into light and give them life, Joseph, and the sun and the moon, that is, of the one who is vicegerent of the earth, the sun and moon created (?) above the worlds prostrating before him in this way: that he is the prophet of the time, it shows. Yes.
