Tafsir
Hadrat Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm' loved Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' very much. His love for him was his intuition that Allah would give him prophethood. In this respect, when the dream he had supported this, he said, 'My child, do not tell your dream to your brothers.
The reason for this was that Yûsuf 'alaihis-salâm' loved Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' very much, and because of this love, his brothers were jealous of Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm'. If he told the dream to his brothers, he said, "My child, do not tell your dream to your brothers, for fear that his brothers will set a trap for him.
(Because Satan is a clear enemy of man). Satan does not leave a single piece of mischief and temptation in the heart of man to tempt him to sin and to lead him away from Allah (swt). Since people's faith is weak and they are fond of their ego, they can easily sin by falling prey to these temptations. In this respect, Hadrat Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm' protected Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' like his own eyes against his brothers and his surroundings.
What is said in the video
Yes, in the 5th verse of Surah Yusuf, Jacob says to Joseph (peace be upon him) in the verse the following: My little son, he said. His aim in saying this: in the previous lesson too, Joseph (peace be upon him) sees 11 stars, the sun and the moon prostrating before him. So Jacob (peace be upon him), that Joseph (peace be upon him) will be a prophet, as corresponding to this understands. And so his father said: My little son, do not tell your dream to your brothers. They will set a trap for you. For Satan is a clear enemy to man. Yes.
Because, we say, Satan is a clear enemy to man. Jacob (peace be upon him): Benjamin and Joseph (peace be upon him) were from one mother, the other brothers must have been from Jacob's (peace be upon him) other wife. In this case, Joseph's (peace be upon him) beauty, the beauty of his character, and the dream he had showing that he would be a prophet: understanding this, Jacob (peace be upon him) loves Joseph (peace be upon him) very much. Who would not love such a child? His son will be a prophet. Yes. In this case the other brothers of course become jealous. So Jacob advises caution to Joseph (peace be upon him).
What does he say? His father said: My little son, do not tell your dream to your brothers. They will set a trap for you. For Satan is a clear enemy to man. Jacob (peace be upon him) loved Joseph (peace be upon him) very much. His love for him was loving that Allah would give him prophethood. So when the dream he saw supported this, he said: My little son, do not tell your dream to your brothers.
The reason is that because Jacob (peace be upon him) loved Joseph very much, because of this love his brothers were jealous of Joseph (peace be upon him). If a father loves one child more, the others will of course be jealous. Well, does a prophet discriminate between his children? Never. Then why does he love him so much? His love is because he will be a prophet. Joseph's brother Benjamin, although the two brothers are from the same mother, he does not love like Joseph. He loves him like the other brothers. But the love of Jacob (peace be upon him) for Joseph is because of the sign that he will be a prophet.
Who would not love a prophet, Allah's prophet? Yes.
Fearing that if he told the dream to his brothers, they would prepare a trap for him, he said: My little son, do not tell your dream to your brothers. For Satan is a clear enemy to man. To lead man into sin and away from Allah, there is no whisper Satan does not put in the human heart, no temptation he leaves out. And when people are weak in faith and attached to their nafs, carried away by (?), they can easily commit sins. So Jacob (peace be upon him) guarded Joseph (peace be upon him) from the brothers around him like the apple of his eye. A trust, Allah's trust, still a child of course; certainly he will protect him.
At the same time he senses in him the sign of prophethood, the dream confirms it too; in this case, although Allah protects His prophet, he too, so as not to fall short in caring for Joseph (peace be upon him), who was entrusted to him, protects him from every side and watches over him.
