Translation

(His brothers) said; “Joseph and his brother (Benjamin) are dearer to our father than we are. However, we are many. No doubtly, our father is evidently in mistake.”

Tafsir

Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' and Benjamin were from the same mother, but their other brothers were from different mothers. His brothers said: Our father loves Benjamin and Yusuf more than us, whereas we are a large community, that is, there are more of us; surely our father is in a clear mistake. However, the brothers of Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' speak in this way because they cannot comprehend that Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm''s father, Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm', was not a person who could love people because they were a large congregation, that his sons could not recognize their father, and that their father loved whoever was close to Allah for Allah's sake.

If people do not have knowledge of the truth, they will realize how wrong the decisions they have made, which they have justified with their own minds on the path their minds have shown them, are in time, when people come to their senses. Then people will regret what they did or said. But what is done is done. Regret will not bring back these events. So when a person decides to do something, he should think very carefully. They should think about the benefits and harms of what they are going to do, and they should make a decision based on the truth without following their ego and Shaytan. Then people's path will be bright.

Because their father, who knew that it was beneficial to hide these truths from the brothers of Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm', saw the benefit of preventing the evils that they would do by not telling the truths to their sons, and hid the events, the brothers of Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' committed the crime that they would commit, knowing that what they were doing was evil, and the sons saying to a father that our father is on the wrong, means that people are being dragged into a great evil.

What is said in the video

In the 8th verse, his brothers said: Joseph and his brother Benjamin are dearer to our father than we are. Yet we are a large group; that is, they are 10 people.

Joseph and Benjamin are 2 people. So they, we are a large group, they say. That is, they trust in their strength. But because their father is in between, because of their obedience to their father, they cannot say anything, and instead they prepare a trap. So the lesson-filled story of this trap being prepared will come out, with the lessons.

What does it say? His brothers said: Joseph and his brother Benjamin are dearer to our father than we are. Yet we are a large group. Surely our father is in clear error. Now, whoever has knowledge: 'whoever We give knowledge, We give him wisdom', corresponding to this verse, Jacob (peace be upon him) was given knowledge, and he was also given wisdom. Jacob (peace be upon him), seeing with this wisdom, by protecting that other one who would be a prophet, Joseph; his brothers, unaware of this, think that their father is making a mistake, by the measure of their own minds. They set about objecting to their father Jacob, objecting that he had been unjust.

Yet Jacob (peace be upon him) is a prophet. In this case it is not possible that he should (?) among his children. That is not possible. So, when a person does not have knowledge, with this poor mind, with this small mind of his own, since the events they see as right are full of wisdom, they will (?) their errors. Yes.

What does it say? Our father loves Benjamin and Joseph more than us. Yet we are a large group. That is, we are more people. Surely our father is in clear error, they said. Yet that Joseph's (peace be upon him) father Jacob (peace be upon him), for people being a large group, is not a man who would love them for it, that the children did not know their father, while their father loves whoever is closest to Allah for Allah's sake: Joseph's (peace be upon him) brothers could not grasp this, and so they speak this way. Yes.

If people have no knowledge of the truth, how wrong they are about the truth they realize over time, when they come to their senses. Now, as we too have written, we give an example now, let us give one from ourselves so that the events are better understood. There are wrongly rendered verses in the Holy Quran. Respected persons who know Arabic, since they are unaware of Quranic knowledge, in Arabic, by the word as it comes in Arabic, have rendered the verses. In this way they have ascribed attributes to Allah Almighty. They say it comes like that in Arabic; when the grammar renders it so, according to grammar, it does come from the same root in Arabic, but since many meanings arise from that root, and since the wisdom in the Arabic, that is, at the root of the verse, they could not (?), of the words that carry many meanings in Arabic grammar they put one.

And in this way they ascribe attributes to Allah. For example, (?) an answer came to us, and this person puts the word la'alla as 'so that', he says. Whereas the word la'alla, he says, means 'hopefully', 'such that', 'thus' and the like. And the translator of sound taste, he says, according to his own situation, he says, puts one of these meanings. Then the matter changes; according to the context and flow of the verse, that is, according to its broad meaning, the verse changes. For example, since they know grammar very well they render it, they say the word la'alla, (?), among a people, of those who will strongly return, strongly, within (?), waiting, hoping, it says.

Now, up to here, 'waiting' is right; not 'hoping', we say. Why? Hoping is that something will happen, strongly waiting for it, that something will happen. That is, because one hopes it will be so, or because, as it is to be, it will be, one hopes. But if you put the meaning 'so that' there: among a people, that is, people He knows will strongly return, 'so that', as a demonstrative pronoun, pointing to them, this is correct. Whereas 'hopefully' ascribes attributes to Allah: that is, He does not know, but hopefully they return, or He hopes and by chance what He hoped happens, as if it were so. Now in this case some words, for example (?) in the verse wrongly rendered earlier, as it said 'He will choose you'. Whereas it is not 'choose', it is 'He will exalt him'.

Why will He exalt him? Why does He exalt him and not someone else? Now when it is choosing, choosing happens among people. When it says He will exalt, He will exalt. For one to be exalted, he must have certain qualities. Choosing is taking someone within one's own will, that is, within Allah's own will, but saying He will exalt him is because of certain qualities in him. What is this quality? Because they were the first created from the spirit of the Prophet (peace be upon him), because they are prophets, and because Allah Almighty made a covenant with them, saying: I too am a witness with you, sir, when the time comes, when He can send His prophet, of course He will raise him, exalt him.

Yes. Like this, when people have no knowledge of the realities, they can (?) wrong things. Like what? Like the sons of Jacob (peace be upon him) who, since they did not know the truth about their father, were mistaken. For example, when rendering the Holy Quran, deliberately, and that it is deliberate is plain to see, they consciously closed off verse 172 of Surah Al-A'raf. These, through the work of non-Muslims, sir, and by raising our teachers in such a way from the schools and so brainwashing people, and calling those who set out to explain verse 172 of Surah Al-A'raf Qadariyya followers, and when they call them Qadariyya, and they don't even know what Qadariyya means, when they call them Qadariyya, and going a bit further, (?), that is, making them out to be deviants in religion, that people made a covenant with their Lord and that their own (?) became their destiny, that Allah Almighty inscribed their wishes as characters for them and that everyone receives reward and sin by the decision they gave, by their partial will: they blocked this, closed it off.

So that these parts are not learned. Since the real root is here, with all subsequent events being pinned on Allah, people have misread the verses. So we are trying to explain these parts to people. We are trying to remove the mistakes. If they could just grasp this part, everything would open up. (?) Allah Almighty's making a covenant. With partial will, that is, between the partial will and the universal will, without any pressure or coercion either way, the partial will's desire and request from the universal will being written for it as destiny. When it is taken that way, Allah Almighty being unaware of the future comes out as a state, whereas Allah Almighty is far above such things. He is far above those deficient attributes.

So the sons of Jacob (peace be upon him), too, since what Jacob (peace be upon him) knew they did not know, this, thinking he normally discriminated between his children, their being jealous of them. Yes. Their being jealous of Joseph (peace be upon him).

If people have no knowledge of the truth, on the path their minds show them, the decisions they made, rightly by their own minds, how wrong they are, over time, when they come to their senses, they understand. That is when people regret what they did or said. But what is done is done; regret will not bring back these deeds.

Yes.

So when a person decides to do something, he should think very carefully. What the gains and harms of the work he will do are, without following his nafs and Satan, on the truth they should decide. That is when people's path becomes bright. Now, for example, people did not know us either, could not recognize us; from the beginning they opposed us. Some of those deep meanings, that is, those meanings in Surah Al-A'raf, the covenant with our Lord, people interpreted otherwise. By their own minds they went as far as calling us deviant, and they still have not grasped it. But, God willing, we will open these up, we will explain them to them too, the verses (?) (?). With Allah's verses in our hands as proof, we will try to tell people the right and the truth.

And we will try to save Allah Almighty from being ascribed attributes. For Allah Almighty does not call anyone (?) to account. So, over time, by raising a scholar, Allah makes the truth heard by people. Because no prophet will come again until the Day of Judgment, since after the Seal of the Prophets, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), no prophet will come again, Allah Almighty raises scholars, heirs of the prophets. Through them He has the truth told. Yes.

Since their father, knowing it was beneficial to hide these truths from Joseph's (peace be upon him) brothers, by not telling his children the truths, their this seeing benefit in preventing the evils his children would do, hid the events, Joseph's (peace be upon him) brothers, knowing full well that what they did was evil, committed the crime they would commit. Children saying to a father, our father is in error, means people being dragged into a great evil.
