Translation

(They said among each other); “Let’s kill Joseph or take him away to a distant place so that the attention of your father remains only for you. After that, you can be salih people (by repenting).”

Tafsir

Hazrat Ya'qub's love for Yusuf and Benjamin caused jealousy and enmity among his other brothers. The brothers gathered together and said, "Let us either kill Yusuf or throw him away. Once Yusuf is gone, our father's love will return to us. Then we will repent and become righteous people. Here is the adoption of the devilish and ignorant idea of the devil. A person will deliberately commit a crime, especially the murder of a human being, and then repent and become a righteous servant. I wonder if after committing this crime, when he repents, will his heart be at peace? Will he be able to repent because of the horror of this crime? Here are people who are unaware of the normal thinking of people before committing crimes, and that after committing a crime, people will completely change and take on the mold of the crime they committed, and take the path of a person in that way. Among them, people who commit crimes and then repent, regret and return are very few.

What is said in the video

Joseph's brothers, the other ten brothers, apart from Benjamin, among themselves said: Kill Joseph or cast him out to some distant land, so that your father's favour is left to you alone, and after that you will repent and be righteous people. Yes. To people look at the trick the accursed one plays, there, (?) is a clear enemy to people; at the start of the verse Allah Almighty too informs us this way: do not follow Satan, he says, is a clear enemy to you. Jacob (peace be upon him) loving Joseph and Benjamin caused, among the other brothers, jealousy and hostility. The brothers gathered among themselves: let us (?) Joseph or cast him into a distant place.

Once Joseph is gone, our father's love (?). This way we too will later repent and become righteous people, they said. There it is: entirely satanic, embracing Satan's ignorant idea. You take a life, though those who take one life unjustly are as if they had taken all lives. According to that verse: go ahead, take a life, and then say: I have repented, I have become one of the righteous. Yes.

A person will knowingly commit a crime, a crime, and above all kill a human being, and then by repenting become a righteous servant. Will this person truly, after committing this (?), when he repents, find peace of heart? With the horror this crime brings, will a person even be able to repent? That is, before committing crimes, people with their normal thinking, when they commit a crime, yes, that after committing a crime people change completely, take on the mould of the crime they committed and follow that kind of path: people unaware of this. Like whom? Like Cain and Abel. Cain killed Abel and passed on without even repenting.

Yes. Among these, those who commit a crime and later repent, regret and turn back are very few.
