Translation

In the evening, they came to their father crying.

Tafsir

His brothers, who had thrown Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' into the well according to their plan, came home in the evening. They started crying in front of their father. Since their father, Hazrat Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm', was already aware of these events, he did not find their behavior strange, but he did not say anything to them either.

Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm', knowing why his sons were crying and not seeing Yusuf among them, asked his sons in anger: Where is Yusuf? Joseph's brothers started to tell their father the excuses they had made up earlier. Of course, Hazrat Ya'qub would not believe these excuses that Hazrat Yusuf's brothers would tell.

What is said in the video

In verse 16 of Surah Yusuf: In the evening, weeping, they came to their father — his brothers. To cover up the admission of the (?) they had made, they come weeping. The brothers who, according to their plan, had thrown Joseph (peace be upon him) into the well came home when evening fell. They began to weep beside their father. Since their father Jacob (peace be upon him) already knew about these events, he did not find their behaviour strange. But he did not say anything to them either. Since Jacob (peace be upon him) knew why his sons were weeping, and not seeing Joseph among them, he asks his sons angrily: Where is Joseph?

Joseph's brothers, for their part, begin to tell their father the excuses they had made up beforehand. Of course, the excuses Joseph's brothers would tell, Jacob (peace be upon him) was not going to believe anyway. He did not believe. Because if Allah is going to raise a person as a prophet, no one can do anything to him, can do nothing. And since he knew what this adventure would turn into, since Jacob (peace be upon him) knew he would be reunited with his son in the end — because eleven stars, his brothers, the sun and the moon, all people prostrating to him, obeying him, would come to pass — Jacob (peace be upon him) knows from this that he will be reunited with his son.

In this situation, too, he submits to the destiny Allah Almighty set for his son.
