Translation

Finally, despite seeing clear proofs, it appeared appropriate to them (the lord and his friends) to imprison him for a determined time (to avoid the gossip of people).

Tafsir

In response to the prayer of Hazrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm', Allah (swt) creates events by giving him and his friends various emotions in order to have Hazrat Yusuf thrown into the dungeon. Even though Yusuf was right and they saw the clear evidence, Aziz and his friends still thought it would be useful to put Yusuf in the dungeon for a while in order to stop the gossip of the people. This idea seemed pleasant and appropriate to them, and they threw Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' into the dungeon.

What is said in the video

says our Lord. Surah Yusuf, verse 35: we have come to this verse.

Then, although the Aziz and his companions had seen the clear proofs, to stop the people's gossip, it still seemed fitting to them that they must, for a time, throw him into prison, it says. Now Allah Almighty relates to us their situation, that is, the situation of the Aziz and the woman's relatives, their talks among themselves. And it says: the Aziz and his companions, it says. Yes. The Aziz and his companions.

Although they saw the clear proofs, that is, although they saw that Joseph was in the right, to stop the people's gossip, it still seemed fitting to them that they must, for a time, throw him into prison. In answer to the prayer of Joseph (peace be upon him), Allah Almighty, to have Joseph thrown into prison, gives the Aziz and his companions various feelings and creates events. Although Joseph was in the right and they had seen the clear proofs, to put an end to the people's gossip the Aziz and his companions still find it useful to throw Joseph into prison for a time. This idea seems pleasant and fitting to them.

They throw Joseph (peace be upon him) into prison. And Joseph (peace be upon him) enters the prison. Along with them, two more companions enter the prison. Now it comes to that.
