Translation

With him, two more young men entered prison. One of them said, “I saw myself squeezing wine.” The other said, “and I saw that I carried a bread on top of my head which the birds were eating. Give us its interpretation; verily, we see you among the muhsin.”

Tafsir

When Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' entered the dungeon, two young men entered the dungeon with him. They wanted to tell Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' about their dreams. They said: We consider you one of the good people, we have seen a dream. Can you interpret our dream for us? Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' asked them to tell their dreams. Then one of them narrates his dream. He says: "I was pressing wine in my dream. The other young man said: And tonight I dreamt that I was carrying bread on my head and the birds were eating it. Can you tell us the interpretation of this dream?

Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm', on the other hand, wanted to take advantage of this situation of the young men and invite them to the religion of Tawhid before giving them the interpretation of the dream. In this respect, he prepares them for the true religion of Tawhid by explaining to them that he himself is of the true religion and that he was taught by Allah, the only One, and that the Egyptians were on the wrong path. The next three verses are about the invitation of these young men to the true religion.

What is said in the video

Yes, two young men entered the prison along with him. One of them said: I saw in a dream that I was pressing wine. The other: and I saw that I was carrying bread on my head from which birds were eating. Tell us its interpretation. For we see you as one of those who do good, he said.

When Joseph (peace be upon him) entered the prison, two young men also entered the prison with him. They had had dreams, and they wanted to tell Joseph (peace be upon him) the dreams they had seen. They said: we see you as one of the good people. We had a dream. Will you interpret our dream for us? Joseph (peace be upon him) asks them to tell their dreams. Thereupon one of them tells his dream. In my dream I was pressing wine, he says. The other young man: and tonight in my dream I was carrying bread on my head. I saw birds eating this bread. Will you tell us the interpretation of our dream? Joseph (peace be upon him), however, before giving them the dream's interpretation, wants to take advantage of the young men's situation and invite them to the religion of tawhid.

To tawhid. Therefore, that he is on the true religion, that his knowledge was taught to him by the one Allah, that the Egyptians are on the wrong path, by telling (?) he prepares them for the true religion, the religion of tawhid, and conveys it to them. The three verses that follow are connected with inviting these young men to tawhid; that is their subject. Yes, three verses.
