Translation

Other things that you worship (by turning away from Allah), are nothing but names that you and your forefathers have given. Allah has not sent down any proof regarding them. Judgment only belongs to Allah. Allah has ordered you not to worship anyone but Allah. This is the true religion, but most people don’t know.

Tafsir

As we have explained in the commentary of the above verse, Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' said to his fellow prisoners: "The worship of those who associate partners with Allah by shaping objects made with their hands, giving them names and calling them gods, is nothing but some names that you and your ancestors worshipped. Allah has not revealed any evidence about idols.

You throw your own souls into the fire, saying that you worship Allah. These are not gods, nor has Allah sent down any proof about them. That is to say, your idols, which you worship by shaping them with your hands, are not gods, nor is Allah the Exalted the Exalted the Exalted the Exalted the Exalted. Allah has not sent down any proof that you can worship them. Allah has never sent any of His Prophets without evidence. Their proofs are miracles. Their abilities. Their sound judgment. Allah has given many qualities to His Prophets. But those whom you worship do not have any proof, nor did the Prophets who came until this time say about these idols that you will worship them.

So the judgment belongs to Allah alone. You judge on your own. For idols have neither life, nor mind, nor speech. It is for people to worship these idols and declare them as gods, saying that this is the rule and law of these gods, this is the law of this god, this is the law of the other god, and inventing a god as it suits them, and saying that this is the law of this god, in order to carry out the business that suits their own interests. In time, people started to worship what such self-interested people invented. In other words, people made the judgment instead of Allah. In this case they entered shirk. However, the judgment over people belongs to Allah. Since Allah knows how people will prosper, He has made His laws known to people for their comfort and safety. In the face of all the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon mankind, Allah has willed that people should worship Him without being ungrateful, in the manner befitting a civilized person, in the same way that a person receiving a treat would thank a treat out of courtesy, and in the face of all the blessings of Allah, Allah has willed that He should be worshipped in addition to the knowledge of His Essence. In this respect, worship is only to Allah.

And this is the religion that is true. But most people do not know this. Because people like the crooked paths that suit them, they cannot adopt the straight path of Allah, which is the straight path.

What is said in the video

What you worship besides Allah is nothing but certain names that you and your forefathers worship and have given. Allah has not sent down any proof concerning them. Judgment belongs to Allah alone. He has commanded you to worship none but Him. That is the right religion, but most people do not know, says Allah Almighty.

So what people worship, those idols they worship instead of Allah, were invented by people's forefathers, made with their own hands, given names, and for their own interests they called them god, called them deity; this comes from their forefathers' ignorance, from their turning their backs on Allah, and also from their denying Allah; at the address 'Elestü bi Rabbiküm' they denied Allah, and because they expected a Lord of their imagination, they drew the form of that imagined Lord and worshipped it. Yes. As we explained in the commentary on the verse above, Joseph (peace be upon him) told his prison companions that those who associate partners with Allah shape (?) with their hands, give them names and worship them as gods; that what you and your forefathers worship is nothing but certain names; Allah has not sent down any proof concerning the idols, he said.

Yes. So his saying He has not sent down any proof: what is the proof? It is a verse. In any verse, that, yes, idols too are each in the position of a deity, and that when something is asked of them, they too partly fulfil your wishes, is there such a proof at all? No. Then they too are servants created by Allah. So, from the atom to the globe, all that exists is created by Allah. There is no god but Allah. All this created universe is under His power, His strength, His might. So there is no created thing worthy of worship besides Him, or rather no being at all. Yes. Besides Allah, there is no created thing worthy of worship, to be a partner to Him as Lord, to be His equal.

Or rather no being at all. The only One is He, Allah. There is none other than Him worthy of worship. Yes, saying 'we worship Allah', you are throwing your own selves into the fire. These are neither gods, nor has Allah sent down any proof about them. That is, that the idols you made with your hands also have authority, that you may worship them too: no such proof has He sent down. Allah, however, sent none of His prophets without proof. Their proofs are miracles, their abilities, their well-founded judgments. Yes.

Allah gave His prophets many virtues. But these things you worship have neither any proof, nor did the prophets who have come until now ever say about these idols: you shall worship them. So judgment belongs to Allah alone. You are making judgments on your own. Because idols have neither life, nor reason, nor speech. So people worship these idols, declare them gods, and say: this is the rule, the law of this god; (?) god's law, the other god's law is this; those it suits invent a god as it suits them, and their saying the law of this god is this is so that the affairs serving their interests go on.

Now, here the polytheists of Mecca come to my mind; that is, these people come here, he says, they stop by for these gods, he says. Sir, now this is our income, he says, these, he says, (?), he says, the people who stop by here come for these, he says, here for these gods, he says, animals are slaughtered, markets are set up, trade happens. In that case, he says, if he now removes these gods, he says, we are finished, he says. These are people who tie everything to this world and (?) people.

And over time people began to worship what such benefit-giving people had invented. That is, people gave judgment in place of Allah. In this way they fell into shirk. Yet judgment over people belongs to Allah. Since Allah knows how people will find salvation, for people's comfort and safety He has made His laws known to them. Against all the blessings Allah has given people, without people being ungrateful, just as a person who receives hospitality politely gives thanks, as befits a civilized person, toward Allah Almighty who gives all these blessings, in return for Allah's many blessings Allah Almighty has willed that, besides His Essence being known, He be worshipped.

That is why worship belongs to Allah alone. yes this is the right religion, but most people do not know it, because people like the crooked paths that suit them, so Allah's straight path, the sirat al-mustaqim, they cannot discern. yes
