Oh my companions in prison! (Regarding your dreams,) one of you will serve his master wine (as before), the other one will be hanged, and birds will eat from his head (his brain). The matter (dream) which you have asked for interpretation, has become definite.”
Tafsir
Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' addressed his friends who were with him in the dungeon and asked him about his dreams. O my dungeon friends! As for your dreams, the one who dreams of you squeezing wine in his dream will offer wine to his master and make him drink it as before. The person who dreams of birds eating the bread on his head will be hanged and birds will eat his head and brain. This is how the job you asked about your dreams has been finalized.
As we have explained in the previous Verses, Allah (swt) created these worlds according to a program. Therefore, Allah knows what will happen until the Day of Resurrection. That is why the knowledge of the unseen is with Allah. And dreams are the harbingers of the future and the events that will happen. In this respect, Allah, Who taught the interpretation of dreams to Prophet Yusuf (as), has given them the precise future states that they saw in their dreams.
When the young men asked Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' about their dreams, both of them were frightened and denied their dreams and said that they were only joking. But Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' did not take their denials into consideration. He did not take their denials to heart because Allah, Who reveals the interpretation of dreams through revelation to his heart, knew that when He interpreted their dreams, they would definitely be subjected to these events. He showed them a kind of miracle when he said, "This is how it is certain that the truth will be revealed.
Dreams are in three parts;
The first is the Rahmanic dreams.
The second is dreams that are demonic.
The third is dreams that originate from the human soul.
What is said in the video
We continue our lesson. O my prison companions, as for your dreams, he says; now he explains the dreams. One of you will serve wine to his master as before, and the other will be hanged, and the birds will eat his brain from his head. The matter whose interpretation you asked about has been decided in this way, he says. To his companions with him in the prison who asked about their dreams, Joseph (peace be upon him) says, addressing them: O my prison companions. As for your dreams: the one of you who saw wine coming out in his dream will, as before, offer wine to his master and serve it to him.
The dream of the birds eating from the bread on his head: the one who saw the dream of birds eating from the bread will be hanged, and the birds will eat from his head and his brain. The matter you asked about your dreams has been decided in this way, he says. As we also explained in the earlier verses, Allah Almighty created these worlds according to a program. Therefore Allah knows what will happen until the Day of Judgment.
That is why the knowledge of the unseen is with Allah. So dreams too are messengers of the future and of events to come. Therefore Allah, who taught the interpretation of dreams to Joseph (peace be upon him), gave them, of the futures they saw in their dreams, the outcome with certainty. He said, we said dreams are of three kinds. Satanic, from the nafs, and Rahmani.
There are Rahmani dreams. Rahmani, and the interpretation of these dreams Allah Almighty gives to some people too, as much as is their share, we say. They interpret dreams. Because scholars are the heirs of the prophets. Yes. When the young men who asked about their dreams received from Joseph (peace be upon him) the meaning of their dreams, both became afraid, denied the dreams they had seen, and said: we were only joking. But Joseph (peace be upon him) did not take their denial into account. Because Allah, who made the interpretation of dreams known to his heart by revelation: since he knew, when he interpreted their dreams, that they would certainly meet these events, he did not take their denial into account.
By saying that it will truly come about so, that it has been decided in this way, he showed them a kind of miracle. Here at the end we also said dreams are of three kinds. The first are Rahmani dreams, the second are satanic dreams, the third are dreams that arise from a person's nafs. Yes.
