The ruler said; “(In my dream) I see that seven lean cows ate seven fat cows. Also, I saw seven green ears (of grain) and the remaining ones dry. Oh dignitaries! If you give interpretations to dreams, interpret my dream to me.

Tafsir

When the time for the release of Hazrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' from prison had expired in the sight of Allah, the king of Egypt, Riyan ibn al-Walid, had a strange and terrible dream. Being under the influence of his dream, he gathered the scholars to have it interpreted and addressed them: "I have had a dream tonight in which seven weak cows eat seven fat cows, and it is also said that these cows come out of a dried-up river. I also saw in a field of crops or in a bunch of ears of wheat all but seven green ears of wheat had dried up, and if any of you can interpret this dream of mine, let him tell me.

Allah also has wisdom in the king gathering his scholars together. This shows how much this king, Riyani ibn al-Walid, valued his scholars and trusted them by asking them for interpretation of his dream. That is to say, I value you highly and trust in your knowledge and wisdom. Since Allah is the Wise, He made King Riyan ibn al-Walid gather together the most trusted scholars and make them helpless in the face of this dream in order to prepare a place for Hazrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' above them.

What is said in the video

Surah Yusuf, verse 43: The king said: I saw in my dream seven lean cows eating seven fat cows. I saw seven lean cows eating seven fat cows. Also seven green ears of grain, and the others I saw dry. O chiefs, if you interpret dreams, interpret my dream for me, he says. The king says this. Of course the king's aides, astrologers, dream interpreters and so on are all around him and make their living from there. So when the king sees the dream: seven lean cows, seven fat cows I saw. That is, the seven fat cows, seven lean cows are eating them. This is something like nonsense. Sir, the astrologers say so too anyway, (?).

We understand nothing of such confused dreams, they say. Also seven ears of grain, and the others I saw dry. O chiefs, that is, those who interpret dreams, if you interpret dreams, interpret my dream for me, he says. As the time for Joseph (peace be upon him) to leave prison was fulfilled in Allah's sight, the King of Egypt, Riyani İbn-i Velid, sees a strange and frightening dream. The king of that time, Riyani İbn-i Velid, sees a strange and frightening dream. Under the impression of his dream, to have it interpreted, he gathers the scholars and calls out to them.

O chiefs! Tonight I saw a dream. Seven thin cows are eating seven fat cows. It is also said that these cows came out of a dried-up river. In the dream. Yes. People make things up and say them. It comes out of a dried-up river. Sir, maybe it is so, maybe not, but it is a narration. In fact, the original of the verse Allah Almighty spoke is this as well. Sir, seven thin cows are eating seven fat cows. It is also said that these cows came out of a dried-up river. Also, in a grain field or in sheaves of ears, apart from seven green ears, I saw all the others dried up. If any of you will interpret this dream of mine, let him tell me, he says.

In the king's gathering of his scholars there are also Allah's wisdoms. To show how much this king, that is, Riyani İbni Velid, valued his scholars, that by seeking an interpretation of his dream from them he trusted them, he said: O chiefs. That is, those I value greatly, whose knowledge and learning I trust: that is the meaning. Since Allah Almighty is the Possessor of wisdom, He has King Riyan-ı İbn-i Velid's most trusted scholars gathered together and, before this dream, leaves them (?), so as to prepare a place for Joseph (peace be upon him) above them; that is why. Allah Almighty shows this dream to King İbn-i Velid.

He will take Joseph out of prison and prepare high ranks for him. This is our Lord's divine manifestation. Allah Almighty has power over all things. Yes.
