Dreams are divided into three main kinds. These are merciful (rahmani), satanic and nafs-driven (nafsani) dreams. Of these, the merciful ones are interpreted. The other two kinds of dreams have no interpretation. Satanic dreams are dreams seen so that a person is frightened, falls into whispering doubts or into grief. Nafs-driven dreams, on the other hand, are jumbled. These are not interpreted.
