Translation
(Coming to Joseph, he said) “oh Joseph, oh person of true words! Give us the interpretation for seven lean cows eating seven fat cows, seven green ears and the remaining ones dry (ears). I hope that I will return to people (with the true interpretation) and that they will learn the truth.”
Tafsir
This person, who was freed from the dungeon and continued to serve his master, immediately went to the dungeon. He came to Hazrat Yusuf Alayhis Salam. He narrates the king's dream to Hazrat Yusuf Alayhisselâm and says: O Yusuf, O truthful person! If you will give us a good and accurate interpretation about the seven pure cows seen in the dream, that is, seven weak cows eating seven fat cows, and seven green ears and others dry ears, hopefully they will learn the truth.
The meaning of "they learn the truth" here is not only that the interpretation of the dream is accurate and they learn the truth, but the real and essential meaning is that this person, who learned that the reason for the imprisonment of Hazrat Yusuf 'alaihissalâm' was because of the women, believed in Hazrat Yusuf 'alaihissalâm' and was convinced that he was telling the truth, and with your accurate decisions, they will surely agree with you and believe that you are telling the truth and will let you out of the dungeon.
What is said in the video
In the 46th verse: coming to Joseph he said, O Joseph, O truthful one, about the seven lean cows seen in the dream eating, seven, seven fat cows, and seven green ears and others that are dry, give us an interpretation. I hope that I return to the people with an accurate interpretation, so that perhaps they too learn the truth. This person, who was saved from prison and went on serving his master, at once goes to the prison and comes to Joseph (peace be upon him). Telling Joseph (peace be upon him) the king's dream, he says: O Joseph, O truthful one, about the seven lean cows seen in the dream, that is, the seven weak cows, eating seven fat cows, and seven green ears and others that are dry, if you give us a good and accurate interpretation, it is hoped that they too learn the truth. Here, 'learning the truth' means that the dream's interpretation proves accurate and they learn the truth, but the real and essential meaning is: this person, who had learned that the reason Joseph (peace be upon him) was thrown into prison was the women, believed in Joseph (peace be upon him) and was convinced he spoke the truth, so it means: with these accurate judgments of yours they will surely acknowledge you are right and, believing you speak the truth, release you from prison.
