Tafsir
Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm said: I did not betray him in Azizi's absence, that is to say, I did not approach his wife, because Allah has brought this incident upon me so that everyone may know that He will not make the plot of the betrayers succeed. My Lord has made me say that I am innocent, that I was unjustly imprisoned, in front of you today, from the mouths of those who set a trap for me, with you as witnesses. If I were a traitor, I would stand before you today as a criminal.
It is the innocent, those who fear Allah and do not commit evil deeds, that Allah makes them successful. Even though calamities touch these innocent people, Allah gives them calamities in the worldly realm because He does not value this realm. By their endurance of these calamities for the sake of Allah, Allah will prepare great positions for these beloved people in the Hereafter. The real home is the Hereafter. This worldly realm is only a small stopping place. Therefore, Allah (swt) does not want to make His beloved ones in this world, which is only a small stopping place for those who love Allah (swt), immersed in debauchery, to be among the lowly in the land of eternal bliss. Therefore, if we are patient and tolerant of the calamities that afflict people in this world, and if we do not rebel against Allah, Allah will grant people great honors in the Hereafter in return for our hardships in this world.
What is said in the video
Joseph said: This is so that everyone knows that in the Aziz's absence I did not betray him, and that Allah does not let the scheming of traitors succeed, he says. Yes, in verse 52 Joseph (peace be upon him) — how beautifully he describes to us the essence of Allah Almighty, how beautifully His attribute of justice. What does he say? He said: This is so that everyone knows that in the Aziz's absence I did not betray him and that Allah does not let the scheming of traitors succeed. No traitor's scheming goes unanswered. Allah Almighty, when the time comes, gives him a calamity in this world and his punishment in the hereafter.
Joseph (peace be upon him) said: In the Aziz's absence I did not betray him. Yes.
That is, I did not approach his wife. Because, so that everyone knows that Allah does not let the scheming of traitors succeed, He has made this event come about through me. That I am innocent, that I stayed in prison unjustly — today, before you, my Lord makes those who (?) me, with you as witnesses, say it with their own mouths. Had I committed treachery, today I would stand before you as a guilty man. So Allah grants success to the innocent, those who fear Allah and want no evil. Even though calamities touch these innocent people, Allah, since He does not value this world, gives people calamities in this worldly realm.
Because they endure these calamities for Allah's sake, Allah in the realm of the hereafter prepares great ranks for these people He loves. The true homeland is the hereafter. This world is only a brief stopping place. So Allah Almighty, in this world, which is only a brief stopover for those who love Allah, does not want to plunge those He loves into dissipation and, in the abode of eternal bliss, make them among those of low rank. So one is patient with the calamities that befall people in this worldly life and endures them. If we do not rebel against Allah, in the hereafter Allah, in return for our hardships in this worldly life, bestows great ranks on people.
Indeed, at the start of the lesson, at the start of the story of Joseph, Allah Almighty says: this is a story to take a lesson from. A lesson — what beautiful lessons we draw from the stories, from the verses.
