Surah Yusuf, verse 54: we have come to this verse. The king said: Bring him to me, I will take him as my own special advisor. When he spoke with him, he said: Today you are, with us, a holder of high rank and a trustworthy person.
When the king heard from the women that Joseph (peace be upon him) was in the right, he wanted to hear his dream's interpretation from Joseph as well. Thereupon he said: Bring him to me, I will take him as my own special advisor. They brought Joseph (peace be upon him) to the king. To hear the dream from Joseph (peace be upon him) as well, the king tells him his dream. And Joseph (peace be upon him) interprets the king's dream. In the seven years of plenty, plenty of crops should be sown as usual, and apart from the seed grain the rest should be stored. When the time of famine came, they should both meet their own needs from these crops and, by selling the surplus crops, bring abundant income to the treasury — this he told the king.
Then the king said to Joseph (peace be upon him): Well then, who will do this work you describe? Joseph (peace be upon him): Over the treasuries of the land — and what does it say — over the treasuries of the land appoint me, for I know this work very well and I will guard the treasury, he said. Yes.
Since Joseph (peace be upon him) was raised by his Lord, of course his mathematics will be strong too. His arithmetic will be strong too. And since his Lord is behind him, He will make the work known to him. He will light his way, of course. Who could know these things better than him?
