Translation

For those who believe and who abstain, the reward of the hereafter is better.

Tafsir

Those who believe and avoid evil, who do good for the sake of Allah, who are not treacherous in their positions, who treat people honestly in order to earn Allah's pleasure with sincerity, Allah will raise them to high positions. Their rewards in this world are temporary. But the rewards in the Hereafter are better, as the rewards in the land of eternal bliss are greater and more lasting.

Because of the good behavior of Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm', all of Egypt was given to Yusuf's administration and disposal. The king even allowed him to exercise his own authority.

Hazrat Yusuf gave importance to agriculture. He cultivated all the land that could be cultivated and increased the crops and stockpiled the surplus. When the years of drought that were seen in the dream came, they began to eat the goods they had stockpiled in the previous years and sell the surplus to people coming from outside. When people heard that there was abundance in Egypt, they started to flock to Egypt from all over the world to buy what they needed. So Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm', the father of Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm', sent his brothers to Egypt to buy provisions, except for Benjamin, who was Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm''s own brother, that is to say, their parents were one and the same. Hadrat Yusuf's other brothers, except Benjamin, were also of one father and one mother. These are the twelve brothers, together with Joseph and Benjamin.

What is said in the video

Indeed, Surah Yusuf, verse 57 says: for those who believe and guard against evil, the reward of the hereafter is better. There is reward in this world, but although this world is a likeness and shadow of the hereafter, and because in this world we prove what kind of person we are, in spite of ourselves — even though in this world we eat and drink and benefit from this world, since this is a temporary guesthouse, the true abode of the hereafter is of course far superior to it. So, if a person in this world, to prepare for the hereafter, binds himself to Allah's commands and becomes an upright person, and does his work in this world hoping for his reward from Allah and for his place in the hereafter to be prepared, he will have built up both his world and his hereafter.

Yes.

For those who believe and guard against evil, the reward of the hereafter is better. So those who believe and guard against evil, those who turn to good for Allah's sake, those who do not betray where they are, those who, sincerely, to earn Allah's pleasure, deal honestly with people — Allah raises them to high positions. Their rewards in this world are temporary. But since the rewards in the abode of eternal bliss are greater and lasting, their rewards in the hereafter are better. So what did we say? While working in this world, keeping the world of the hereafter in mind, keeping in view that the reward of his place there and its value will be higher, as long as he acts in this world by Allah's commands, Allah Almighty gives him his reward in this world too; and since the world is temporary, He also honours those people from Himself and the abode of eternal bliss, the true abode, the abode of Paradise, He gives to these people as their inheritance.

Heirs of the abode of Paradise. Yes, Joseph (peace be upon him), through his good conduct — all of Egypt was placed under Joseph's administration and control. Indeed, the king even allowed him to use his own (?).

Joseph gave importance to agriculture. By having all arable land sown, he increased the harvest. Yes.

There are some words here. The whole has been written as it is. For these, to go through the whole book, our strength is not enough. Yes. There is one of these, he says. There is one, he says. And we tell him, sir, take care of it. Yes. Apparently there were two. Sir, my director has dealt with both of them too.

Yes, Joseph gave importance to agriculture; by having all arable land sown, he increased the harvest and had the surplus stored. When the years of drought seen in the dream came, of the goods they had stored in the earlier years they both ate and, what exceeded their needs, to people coming from outside they began to sell. Hearing that there was plenty in Egypt, people from all sides flocked to Egypt and began to buy what they needed.

The father of Joseph (peace be upon him), Jacob (peace be upon him), too, except for Joseph's full brother — that is, of the same mother, same mother and father — Benjamin, sent his other brothers to Egypt to get provisions. Joseph's brothers other than Benjamin share the father but have different mothers. They are ten. Together with Joseph and Benjamin they are twelve brothers. Yes. Two brothers, same mother, same father. Benjamin and Joseph (peace be upon him). The other ten brothers: same father, different mothers. That is, ten brothers from one mother, one father. And two brothers from another mother, the same father.

And however different the mothers, since children were called by the father's name, the father being in the foreground, they are full brothers. They are full brothers. But because Satan sowed jealousy among them, since their father loved Joseph very much — because he would be a prophet, because he loved him so much — they began to act treacherously.
