Translation
To the men under his order (Joseph) said, “put inside their loads their payment. It might be that they will be aware of this when they reach their families and return.”
Tafsir
Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' said to the young men working under him: Put the capital of these people in their burdens, lest they return home and find that their capital has been returned to them. Thereupon, the youths returned their capital among the burdens of the brothers of Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' without their knowledge.
The reason why Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' returned the capital of his brothers to them was that he wanted to help them and their father Hadrat Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm', and he wanted them to buy their provisions with this money and meet their needs. It is said that this capital was very small and worth dirhams.
What is said in the video
Yusuf, verse 62, Surah Yunus, Yusuf, the 62nd verse. Joseph said to the young men in his service: put their capital into their loads. Perhaps when they return to their families they will notice it and perhaps come back. And the money they paid as their capital he puts back into the loads, into that wheat. When they go, perhaps they have no money. With that money let them come again to buy provisions. Joseph (peace be upon him) said to the young men working in his house: put these people's capital into their loads. Perhaps when they return home they will see that their capital was returned to them and come again.
Then the young men, among the loads of the brothers of Joseph (peace be upon him), without their knowledge, return their capital. The reason Joseph (peace be upon him) returned his brothers' capital to them is this: he had it put there so that it would be a help to them and to his father Jacob (peace be upon him), and so that with this money they could again buy their provisions and meet their needs. According to the reports, this capital was very small, worth only dirhams, it says. Very small, worth only dirhams, it says. Whatever it was worth. It is capital. Even if little, again those camel-loads: if he gives each person one camel-load, if he gave ten brothers ten camel- loads, apart from the one camel-load he gave for Benjamin, can a camel-load be worth only dirhams?
See, people judge this in this way by their own reasoning.
