Tafsir

According to a narration, Hazrat Yusuf's aunt loved Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' very much. When Yusuf grew up a little, his father wanted to keep him with him because he loved Yusuf very much. His aunt wanted to take Joseph away from his father and raise him herself. For this reason, there was a sash that had been inherited from Hadrat Ibrahim 'alaihis-salâm' to his aunt. She tied it around the waist of Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm'. Then Yusuf's aunt said that this sash was missing. So they searched for the belt and it was found on Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm'. In accordance with the law, Yusuf's aunt takes him to live with her.

Joseph's brothers say about Benjamin that if he stole, then one of his brothers had stolen before. They refer to this incident of Joseph's girding.

When Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' was insulted by them, he again did not introduce himself to them and kept what his brothers said to himself and did not say anything to them. He only says to himself inwardly that you are worse off. In other words, Yusuf's brothers, in addition to their arrogance and arrogance, and in reference to the evil they had done to Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm', said to their brothers, "You are in a worse situation. Because Allah knows very well what you are telling. In other words, Allah is witness to these events that the brothers of Hazrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' said about Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' that he had also stolen. He says that Allah is the best knower of this generation event besides your bad opinion of me.

What is said in the video

To verse 77 we have now come, of Surah Yusuf.

His brothers said: If he has stolen, a brother of his stole before too. Look, look, look. Look.

Joseph kept this within himself. He did not reveal it to them. He said to himself: you are in a worse position. Allah knows very well what you describe, it says. Yes. Because Allah Almighty knows the secrets of hearts. According to one narration, Joseph's paternal aunt loved Joseph (peace be upon him) very much.

Yes.

When Joseph grew a little older, his father, because he loved Joseph very much, wanted to keep him with him. His aunt too wanted to take Joseph from his father and raise him herself. Yes.

For this reason, there was a belt that had come down from Abraham (peace be upon him) to his aunt as an inheritance. She tied this around Joseph (peace be upon him)'s waist. Then Joseph's aunt said that this belt had gone missing. Yes.

Thereupon they search for the belt. The belt turns up on Joseph (peace be upon him). As the laws require, they keep Joseph with his aunt. She keeps him. So, according to this situation, they say Joseph stole too, had stolen. Joseph had stolen too. Whereas his aunt, because she loved him very much, gives him that belt, and in the end, having searched and seen her belt on Joseph's waist, his aunt comes to have the authority to take him with her. Yes.

Joseph's brothers, about Benjamin: if he has stolen, a brother of his stole before too, they say. By Joseph (peace be upon him) they mean this belt incident. And Joseph (peace be upon him) says: when you say these words, Allah knows much better, he says. He keeps it inside himself. Upon this insult he received from them, Joseph (peace be upon him) again does not make himself known to them, and swallows what his brother said. He says nothing to them. Only, to himself, inwardly, he says: you are in a worse position. Yes. And that my aunt played this game to keep me with her, Allah knows and you know, but because of this evil you did to me, you are in a worse position than me, he says.

That is, what is meant is the self-regard and arrogance of Joseph's brothers, along with the evils they did to Joseph (peace be upon him). Of his brothers he says: you are in a worse position. Because Allah knows very well what you describe. That is, I am innocent, he says. However much you say, this was a game my aunt played on me, he says. To keep me with her, because she loved me very much. That is, the brothers of Joseph (peace be upon him) saying of Joseph (peace be upon him) that he too had stolen: Allah is witness to these events. This belt incident: besides your thinking ill of me, Allah knows this incident best, he says.
