He said; “We seek refuge in seizing anyone else but the one who has our item. Otherwise, we certainly will be among the oppressors.”

Tafsir

Whatever the brothers of Benjamin said to Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' in return for the promise they had given to their father, Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' refused to accept what they said and said to them in reply: "We seek refuge in Allah from catching anyone other than the person with whom we found our belongings, then we would indeed be among the wrongdoers. In other words, we do not inflict punishment on any soul that it does not deserve. If we do otherwise, we will be sinners. We fear Allah. Because the missing item came out of Benjamin's burden. Since everyone is responsible for his own burden, Benjamin should be punished. We would never keep anyone else with us but him. In this situation, the brothers of Hazrat Yusuf become victims of the game played on them.

What is said in the video

Our property with whom we found — other than that person, anyone else to seize — from that, in Allah we seek refuge. Otherwise we would truly be wrongdoers, says Joseph (peace be upon him). Benjamin's older brothers, in keeping with the promise they had given their father — whatever they said to Joseph (peace be upon him), Joseph (peace be upon him), what they said, does not accept, and answers them: from seizing anyone other than the one with whom we found our property we seek refuge in Allah. Otherwise we would truly be among the wrongdoers, he says. That is, we do not apply to any soul a punishment it does not deserve.

If we were to do the opposite, we would be sinners. We fear Allah. Because the lost item came out of Benjamin's load. Since everyone is responsible for his own load, Benjamin must receive this punishment. We will never keep anyone other than him with us, he says. In this situation, Joseph's older brothers become the victims of the game played on them. Yes. Now, there are very beautiful stories; truly, one lives, I mean, that time, one lives it.
