Tafsir
When Benjamin's brothers saw that Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' was not in favor of giving him up, they gave up hope in Benjamin and went aside to discuss the matter among themselves and come to a decision.
His elder brothers said: "Do you not know that your father has taken a promise from you in the name of Allah, and that you have already committed a fault against Yusuf? I will never leave this place until my father gives me permission or Allah decides for me. However, his older brothers were ashamed of his father and fearful of his devotion to Allah, so he decided to stay in Egypt in grief. Because when he says until my father gives me permission, it means until his father realizes that they are right and accepts them into his presence. Otherwise, it means that no matter what our father tells us, our father is right because we have not kept our promise to our father.
When he said, "I will stay in Egypt until my father gives me permission and until Allah judges about me," he said, "I will stay in Egypt until Allah judges, that is, until He shows me a way out, because He is the best of judges. Allah judges a man for his own benefit, for his own interests. He shows him ways of salvation. Man's ruling over man is to protect his own interests and to receive service from the person he rules over. In this respect, since Allah is the one who is free from time and space, He is the one who does not need His creatures, but His creatures come to life with Allah. In this respect, Allah is the best of the judges. Allah's mercy is for everyone in the universe. Out of His mercy, Allah has sent His judgment to people through the Sharia. He has also placed their will in their own hands. Whoever comes under the rule of Allah is acting in his own interest. And whoever goes beyond the judgment of Allah, he has wronged his own soul.
Surely Allah does not leave His servants alone. Even people who disbelieve in Allah know that Allah is the only power they can turn to in their time of need and take refuge in Him. However, when Allah (swt) decides about people, they forget Allah (swt) when they are in abundance. If only people could realize that they will come to life with Allah's judgment on people, if only they could understand that Allah, who has gathered all His judgments in the Holy Qur'an with the last religion He sent and named it Islam, who addresses people with the verse (inneddine indallahil Islam), who does not accept the validity of any religion other than Islam, invites people to salvation with the religion of Islam, there would not be a single un-Islamic person on earth. So good news for those who accept Allah's judgment and submit to it.
What is said in the video
Once they had lost hope of him, they went apart to discuss the matter in secret and drew aside. Their eldest said: do you not know that your father took a pledge from you in Allah's name, and earlier the fault you committed concerning Joseph? Who is saying this? Their eldest. What does it say? Before that, they went apart to discuss the matter in secret and drew aside. Their eldest said — that is, that older brother of theirs, the eldest brother who caused Joseph to be thrown into the well and so prevented his being killed — do you know that your father took a pledge from you in Allah's name, and earlier, concerning Joseph, the fault you committed?
"You committed" — they themselves are pointing to it anyway. This is more merciful. Until my father permits me and until Allah judges for me, this place I will never leave. He is the best of judges, he says. And now the eldest of them is ashamed to come before his father, (?).
Because he holds the responsibility, he also fears Allah greatly. In this situation he says: I will not leave here anymore, until Allah shows me a way. Benjamin's older brothers, that Joseph (peace be upon him) was not willing to give Benjamin up — seeing this, they give up hope of Benjamin and, to discuss the matter among themselves, to consult and come to a decision, they draw aside. Yes.
Their eldest brother said: do you not know that your father took a pledge from you from Allah, in Allah's name, and earlier the fault you committed concerning Joseph? Until my father permits me or Allah judges for me, this place I will never leave. That is, until my father permits me — that is, "My son, you have no sin in this. You are innocent; what happened is a decree of Allah. I do not see you as guilty" — when he says this, realizing that he still enjoys his father's love, until a situation in which he will be reunited with his father is (?) to him by his father, or until Allah shows him a way out, I will leave here, he says.
Nevertheless, their eldest brother, both ashamed before his father and fearing out of his devotion to Allah, he too, fated and grieving, decides to stay in Egypt. Because his saying "until my father permits me" means: until his father understands that they were right and accepts him into his presence. Otherwise it means: whatever my father says to us, since we did not keep the promise we gave our father, our father is right. His saying both "until my father permits me" and "until Allah judges concerning me" — their eldest brother, affected by this event, because of the promise given in Allah's name is afraid — until Allah judges, that is, until He shows me a way out concerning me, I will stay in Egypt.
Because He is the best of judges. Allah judges this person, a person, for the person's own benefit, in terms of his interests. He shows him ways of salvation. But a person's judgment over another person is for his own interests.
It is to protect his own interests and to be served by the person he rules over. In this respect, since Allah is beyond time and place, He shows no need of His creatures; rather, it is His creatures who find life through Allah. In this respect, Allah is the best of judges. Allah's mercy in the universe is for everyone. Out of His mercy, Allah sent His judgment to people through the rulings of the Sharia. And He has placed their will in people's own hands. Whoever enters under Allah's judgment acts in his own interest. And whoever goes outside Allah's judgment wrongs his own self.
Surely Allah does not leave His servants alone. Even people who deny Allah, in their deepest troubles, the only power to take refuge in — Allah — they know, and they take refuge in Him. But with the decisions Allah Almighty makes about people, when they (?), they forget Allah.
If only people could grasp that through Allah's judging over people they will find life; if only they could grasp that the One who, with the last religion He sent, gathered all His rulings in the Holy Quran and named the religion Islam, who addresses people with the verse inne'd-dîne inda'llâhi'l-İslâm, who accepts the validity of no religion other than Islam — that Allah invites people to salvation through the religion of Islam, if only they could understand that.
Yes.
