Translation

He turned away from them. He grieved “Oh my grief for Joseph” and whiteness (blindness) came upon his eyes because he was burying his sadness inside.

Tafsir

Hadrat Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm realized that there was nothing left for him to do and turned away from them and said, "Oh my Yusuf! He says and buries his grief inside. He gave up hope from people and surrendered to Allah wholeheartedly. He asks Allah for patience. In the meantime, grapes fall into his eyes due to excessive grief. A smokescreen comes, his vision is affected.

When the heart is saddened by grief and sorrow, tears may well up in the eyes. This is an emotion that Allah has given to human beings. If this emotion becomes very developed and the nafs becomes perfect, a person can also cry because of his longing for Allah (swt). True weeping is the weeping of longing for Allah. However, since human beings are created weak, they may be affected by the events, and even if they have a perfect soul, their emotions may be aroused due to the events, and they may cry in the event experienced in the sadness of the heart.

When Ibrahim, the innocent son of the Prophet (pbuh), passed away, he wept. After that, the Prophet (SAW) said that the tears flow because of the sorrow of the heart. But we cannot say anything that may incur the wrath of our Lord. O Abraham, we are surely saddened by your separation.

Such crying is permissible. However, it is not permissible to weep and shout in the face of calamities, and it is not permissible to cry in rebellion against the calamities that Allah has inflicted on people.

What is said in the video

(?)

Yes. In verse 84: He turned away from them and lamented, "Oh my Joseph, oh!", and because he buried his grief within, a greyness came over his eyes. Yes. Allah Almighty shows the state of Joseph (peace be upon him), the state of Jacob (peace be upon him) here so beautifully, how beautifully.

Yes. Jacob (peace be upon him) realizes (?) and turns away from them. That is, he now turns away from the family around him. And, lamenting with grief, he says, "Oh my Joseph, oh!" and buries his grief within himself.

He gives up hope in people and surrenders to Allah with his heart. He asks Allah for patience. Meanwhile, from too much grief, a greyness falls over his eyes. A veil of mist comes, his sight is affected.

Because the heart is saddened by grief and sorrow, tears may come from the eyes and one may weep. This is a feeling Allah has given to people. This feeling develops greatly; if the nafs becomes perfected, a person can also weep out of longing for Allah Almighty. True weeping is the weeping of a longing felt for Allah.

But since man was created weak, being affected by events, even with a perfected nafs, when because of events the feelings stir up, in the sadness of the heart, within the event being lived, there can be weeping. Indeed, when the Prophet's (peace be upon him) innocent son Ibrahim died, he wept. After this the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: With the heart's sadness, the eyes shed tears. But we cannot say anything that would draw our Lord's wrath. O Ibrahim, we are surely saddened by your parting, he says. Such weeping is permissible. But weeping at every turn, screaming and shouting in the face of calamities, and weeping with rebellion and wailing in the face of the calamities Allah sends upon people, is not permissible.
