Oh my sons! Go and inquire about Joseph and his brother. Do not lose hope about Allah’s mercy because no one other than a nation of infidels loses hope from Allah’s mercy.”

Tafsir

After a while, Hadrat Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm' said to his sons: O my sons, go and search for Yusuf and his brothers. By saying this, he shows that he forgives his sons and that he misses even his eldest son. Because he is a Prophet himself. He knows that there is a wisdom of Allah between Prophet Yukup, Prophet Yusuf and his sons. He forgave his sons. In the case of Benjamin, he was convinced that they were truthful, so he told his other sons to investigate Joseph and his brother.

Do not despair of Allah's mercy: Bring me news that they are alive and bring me news of them (for none despairs of Allah's mercy except the community of disbelievers). People who believe and have faith. They always trust in Allah and rely on Him. They ask only from Allah. Therefore, if people rely on Allah in all their affairs and seek Allah's help, Allah (swt) will grant them what they desire. They will never despair of Allah because of what they are waiting for. Even if the time is long, they wait patiently for that long time. But they know that since Allah has written the wishes of people as their destiny, Allah will make their will come to them within their destiny. Even if it is not within their destiny in this world, they will still be rewarded by Allah in the Hereafter for their patience, without despairing from Allah. Apart from this, in the case of the Prophets, when Allah (swt) reveals a sign to His Prophet or gives a sign to one of His righteous servants through inspiration, these people know that the sign given by Allah (swt) will surely be fulfilled, so they are patient and know what other people do not know. Because La gayb IllAllah. Only Allah knows the unseen. He reveals to His beloved servants as much as He wills. In addition to this, people who have faith do not despair and wait for what Allah wills. But because they lack patience, they rebel from time to time. People other than these, the disbelievers, do not have full faith in Allah, so they attribute everything that happens in front of their eyes to their egoistic feelings. They cannot think that Allah is the creator of the events in people's destiny.

What is said in the video

Surah Yusuf, verse 87: Jacob (peace be upon him) says to his sons: O my sons, go and search thoroughly for Joseph and his brother. Do not despair of Allah's mercy. For none despairs of Allah's mercy except the disbelieving people. Yes, only the disbelieving people despair of Allah's mercy.

In this case, since Jacob (peace be upon him) is also a prophet, Allah Almighty's informing him through revelation, and that Joseph, according to the dream he had seen, would become a prophet — Jacob (peace be upon him) knowing this indicates that Joseph would not die, would not be killed, that he remained alive; it is a sign. That is why Jacob (peace be upon him) still tells his sons, go, search for Joseph and his brother, he says. Only disbelievers despair of Allah's mercy, he says. Don't you give up hope. After a while, Joseph (peace be upon him) says to his sons: O my sons, go, search for Joseph and his brothers. By saying this, he shows his sons that he has forgiven them, that he even misses his eldest son.

Because what does his eldest son say to his brothers? I can no longer face my father. Whatever we say, he won't believe us. So I will stay in this city until Allah shows me a way, he says. I will stay in Egypt, he says. Because he himself is also a prophet. Jacob (peace be upon him) is also a prophet. Jacob is aware that between Joseph and his sons there is a wisdom of Allah; he knows this. He has forgiven his sons. Since he has become convinced that in the Benjamin incident too they were among the truthful ones, he tells his other sons to search thoroughly for Joseph and his brother. Yes.

Saying, do not despair of Allah's mercy, also means that they are alive and: bring me news of them. Yes, do not despair of Allah's mercy. Would a father keep remembering his son for so many years?

If he knew him to be dead, he would forget after a while. Because Allah Almighty created people among the forgetful. The forgetful kind. If people had truly not forgotten the events they went through, they would spend this lifespan called life with many (?), with torments to its end. But however great the pains may be, however much they leave a mark on our heart or inside us, over time that is veiled and finally those pains ease. Often we forget, but when we remember, it comes to mind. Yes, in this case, Jacob (peace be upon him), being a prophet, knowing through Allah Almighty's revelation and through the dream Joseph had seen that, as I said earlier, he would become a prophet, knows that he is under Allah Almighty's protection, and so he says this. Saying, do not despair of Allah's mercy, means that they are alive and: bring me news of them.

For none despairs of Allah's mercy except the disbelieving people. People who believe and have faith always trust in Allah and rely on Him. They ask only from Allah. In this respect, if people rely on Allah in all their affairs and expect help from Allah, Allah Almighty creates people's wishes for them. If it is within their destiny, of course. Outside one's destiny, the wish is still created. How is it created? In the hereafter, Allah Almighty, in return for his patience in the world, raises his ranks and rewards him. The person even says, My Allah, I have done no such deeds. What are these? And Allah Almighty: You had asked for such and such, you had prayed, remember, yes.

And I did not give it in the world because it was outside your destiny, would not benefit you, would put a veil over your path. The verse tells us too: Allah Almighty says, they say, we prayed but our prayer was not accepted, they say; they accuse Allah Almighty, He says, of stinginess. Yes, there is no person whose prayer is not accepted. But if it is within his destiny, Allah Almighty creates it for him in the world; if it is outside his destiny, He rewards him in the hereafter for his patience. If, instead, he objected, then in the world he has already shown his rank, what kind of person he is.

Yes, in this respect, if people rely on Allah in all their affairs and expect help from Allah, Allah Almighty creates people's wishes for them. They never despair of Allah over the wishes they wait for. Even if the time is long, that long time, that long time they wait out patiently. Who are they? Those who do not despair of Allah. Those who lay all their affairs before Allah Almighty. But they also surely know that since Allah has written people's wishes for them as destiny, within their destiny Allah will create their wishes for them. Yes.

Even if this wish is not within their destiny in the world, still, because people were patient without despairing of Allah, in the hereafter they will attain the rewards of Allah Almighty. Apart from this, among the prophets — by Allah Almighty informing His prophet through revelation, or giving a saintly servant of His a sign through inspiration — these people, knowing that this sign Allah has given will surely come true, are patient.

and they know what other people do not know. For example, some people say certain words. People whose minds cannot grasp it say, he's gone nuts and so on. They say he has lost his mind. Or they say, well, one more deviant has appeared in religion. But as miracles appear, they understand he is not like that.

These people, knowing that a sign Allah has given will surely come true, are patient, and they know what other people do not know. Because la gaybi illallah.

Only Allah knows the unseen, and to His beloved servants He makes known the destiny He wills. Apart from these, believing people also wait without giving up hope in Allah about their wishes. But

because their patience is lacking, from time to time they rebel. People other than these, that is, the disbelieving people, not fully believing in Allah, attribute every matter, the events that appear before their eyes, to the feelings of their nafs. That Allah is the creator of the events within people's destinies they cannot conceive.
