Translation

Joseph said; “Do you know what you did to Joseph and his brother due to your ignorance?”

Tafsir

When Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' reached the result, he decided to introduce himself and said, "Do you know what they did to Yusuf and his brother because of your ignorance? By saying this, he was bringing them to themselves and introducing himself.

His brothers pondered over this word. They wondered how this saint would know what had happened to Joseph and wondered if this was Joseph. Because his brother Benjamin, who was with him, could not inform this saint about Joseph's condition, because no one but them knew that they had left Joseph in the well. Also, after they had left Joseph in the well, everyone knew that Joseph was dead. Except for one father. And their father did not come to this saint and tell him about it. So there is a strong possibility that they will wonder if this is Joseph.

What is said in the video

Joseph said: now the events connect; Joseph said: Do you know what you did to Joseph and his brother out of your ignorance? Yes.

When Joseph (peace be upon him) reached the outcome, he now decides to make himself known and says: Well, do you know what you did, out of your ignorance, to Joseph and his brother, that is, to Benjamin? They used to scold Benjamin too.

By saying this, he was bringing them to their senses and making himself known. His brothers fall into thought at these words. Wondering how this Aziz could know what happened to Joseph (peace be upon him), they say to themselves: Could this be Joseph? Yes, because his brother Benjamin, who is with him, cannot have told this Aziz about Joseph's situation. Because apart from themselves, no one knows that they left Joseph in the well. Moreover, after they left Joseph in the well, everyone believes Joseph to be dead. Apart from his father, neither has their father come to this Aziz and told him the situation.

So they are seized with excitement: as a strong possibility, could this person be Joseph? These are his brothers; they become excited.
