Tafsir
As a result of this reunion, his brothers were ashamed of Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm'. In order to apologize to him and to be forgiven by Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm', they addressed Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' and said: By Allah, Allah has made you superior to us. With these words they confirmed the Prophethood of Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' and pledged allegiance to him. They firmly believed in the Prophethood of Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm'. They expressed their regret for the crimes they had committed and told their brother Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' that we had indeed erred.

Surah Yusuf, verse 91: his brothers said: By Allah, truly Allah has preferred you over us, and indeed we have been in error, they say; they confess their errors, the betrayal they committed, and they ask Allah for forgiveness and pardon. Voicing their remorse for the wrongs they had committed, his brothers said to Joseph (peace be upon him): Indeed, we have been in error. Yes.
