(And they) said; “You are truly still in your old confusion.”
Tafsir
Then the members of his family still did not believe in Hadrat Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm'. They thought that he was in a state of confusion because he loved Yusuf so much and that was why he was delirious. However, Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm' was confessing to his family and children that Yusuf was not dead and that he was alive at every opportunity and he wanted to tell them something. But there are some secrets that even if people are told about them, they will neither understand them nor realize their importance.
In this respect, although Hadrat Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm' repeatedly told his family members what he knew, none of them believed him, and moreover, they began to see him as senile and confused. The brothers who had set a trap for Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' had already convinced themselves that Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' was dead. In this respect, Yaqub 'alaihis-salâm' was left alone among them. As a matter of fact, the caravan leaving Egypt and his brothers, who were to bring the shirt of Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm', had already learned the truth and were impatiently on their way to give the good news to their father as soon as possible.
What is said in the video
And what does the family say to Jacob (peace be upon him)? They said: By Allah, you are still in your old confusion. Yes. Upon this, the family still did not believe Jacob (peace be upon him). They thought that because he loved Joseph so much he was in a state of confusion, and so was raving about him. Yet Jacob (peace be upon him) declared to his family and children that Joseph had not died, and at every opportunity that he was alive, and wanted to explain something to them. But there are some secrets that, even if they are told to people, people neither understand these secrets nor can grasp their importance.
Such as what, Hodja? For example, although Jacob (peace be upon him) still says "Look for Joseph", and he knows, a secret made known to him by Allah Almighty, they neither understand nor believe him.
It is the same with Allah Almighty's saintly servants. The learned servants whom Allah Almighty raised (?), whom He shaped, when they tell the truth, those bound to falsehood neither believe them nor value them. Forget value. They even accuse them of going astray. They accuse them of lying. Because they have taken falsehood for truth, trying to scatter falsehood over what is right, over the truth, tiny-minded people. Of course, even if I told them, they could not understand. Such as what? For example, when the true meanings seen in the verses of the Holy Quran are explained, many people do not believe.
They do not believe. For example, we tell you about the covenant of Elestü bi Rabbiküm. A world that is seen. They are amazed: Allah, Allah! How can this be? Many events, the counterparts of the verses. And in this situation, even if it is knowledge, some secrets people neither understand nor want to understand. Yes.
For this reason, although Jacob (peace be upon him) told his family what he knew many times, none of them believed Jacob (peace be upon him); on top of that, they began to regard him as senile and confused. And his elder brothers, who had laid a trap for Joseph (peace be upon him), had long since convinced themselves that Joseph (peace be upon him) was dead. For this reason Jacob (peace be upon him) had been left alone among them. Indeed, the brothers who, with the caravan leaving Egypt, would bring the shirt of Joseph (peace be upon him) had long since learned the truth. To give their father the good news as soon as possible, they impatiently went on their way.
