Translation

When the messenger of glad tidings came and placed the shirt to his face, he (Jacob) started seeing. He said; “Did I not say that I know things from Allah (by Allah’s revelations) that you cannot know about?”

Tafsir

When Hazrat Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm' became blind from longing for Yusuf, Hazrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' sent his shirt with his brothers to his father Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm' so that his father Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm''s eyes would be opened and he could see. When this shirt reached Yaqub 'alaihis-salâm', he put it on his face and eyes, and as a miracle of Allah, Yaqub 'alaihis-salâm''s eyes became visible. Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm said, "Did I not tell you that I know things that you cannot know (by revelation) from Allah? Allah (swt) vindicated the Prophet Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm, who had trusted in Allah from the beginning. Since the human mind cannot take in what Allah has revealed to His Prophets through revelation, many people do not believe in the Prophets when they act with their minds, when they act with their intellect.

It is necessary for people to believe in Allah, His angels, His Books, His Prophets, the resurrection after death and the resurrection of the dead, believing in good and evil in the destiny, and to believe in the words of Allah and His Messenger during their life in this world, which is the realm of the unseen. Indeed, the word of Ya'qub 'alaihis-salâm' was fulfilled. It turned out that Joseph was alive.

According to the narrations, this news was brought to Hadrat Ya'qub (peace be upon him) by Yehuda. Judas said to his brothers: "I took Joseph's bloody shirt to my father and caused him sorrow and pain, now let me take this shirt as good news and make my father rejoice. As soon as he received the shirt, he did not wait for caravans and caravans, he set out from Egypt barefoot and bareheaded, walked all the way to the province of Ken'an and delivered the shirt to his father.

What is said in the video

When the bearer of good news came and as soon as he laid the shirt on him, Jacob could see. Did I not tell you that through revelation from Allah I know things you cannot know, he said. Now that the miracle has appeared, the proofs, the outward events have come to light, people believe only in what their eyes see.

When, from longing for Joseph, a greyness came over the eyes of Jacob (peace be upon him) and he could no longer see, Joseph (peace be upon him), so that the eyes of his father Jacob (peace be upon him) would open and he could see again, sends his shirt with his brothers to his father Jacob (peace be upon him). When this shirt reaches Jacob (peace be upon him), he rubs the shirt over his face and eyes. As a miracle of Allah, the eyes of Jacob (peace be upon him) are able to see. Jacob (peace be upon him) said: Did I not tell you that through revelation from Allah I know things you cannot know? So Jacob (peace be upon him), who had trusted in Allah from the start, Allah Almighty proved right in his words. What Allah makes known to His prophets by revelation, the human mind cannot grasp; so when people weigh events by their reason, when they act by their reason, many people do not believe the prophets either.

During their life in this world, which is a (?) realm, people, with their faith, believing in Allah, His angels, His books, His prophets, in rising after death, and in good and evil within destiny, must pay heed in accordance with the words of Allah and His Messenger. Indeed, it came to light that the word of Jacob (peace be upon him) proved true, that Joseph was alive.

According to the narrations, this news was brought to Jacob (peace be upon him) by Judah. Judah says to his brothers: It was I who took Joseph's bloodied shirt to my father; I drowned him in grief and pain. Now let me take this shirt as good news and fill my father with joy, he says.

As soon as he takes the shirt, he waits for neither caravan nor convoy. Barefoot and bareheaded he sets out from Egypt and walks all the way to the land of Canaan and delivers the shirt to his father.
