Tafsir
This verse is a verse against those who say that Allah (swt) should have seen a Prophet from the angels. As we said in the above verse, the Arab polytheists believed that angels were the daughters of Allah. Because they believed so, they wanted Prophets to come from them.
Allah (swt) states that the people He sent to the tribes before the Prophet (s.a.w.) were always men. He has never sent a Prophet from women. It is not that Allah deems the women He has created as inferior or incapable. Allah is the One who values His creatures very much. He sent Prophets from men so that they would not contradict Allah's laws. Because Allah does not make deficiencies, Allah, who created women incomplete compared to men, has given women some emotions, with these emotions women cannot do some jobs. For example, women have the feeling of motherhood. With this emotion, women cannot be judges because they act. Women cannot be imams because they are created incomplete. Because they are under the protection of a man. Allah has given women the qualities to take refuge in a man or to trust a man. Therefore, one who relies on and is protected by a man cannot be a leader. Similarly, out of Allah's mercy on women, He has withheld certain duties from them, i.e. He has not given them to them.
That is why Allah has never sent a Prophet from a woman, in a lack of justice on His part. He has always sent Prophets from men. And now, as a man, He sent Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) as a Prophet.
Do not the disbelievers travel in the earth and see what was the end of the nations that came before them? For disobeying Allah and His Messengers, He surrounded them with an all-encompassing torment and wiped them off the face of the earth. And the punishment in the Hereafter will be a permanent misery and a painful torment.
Surely the abode of the Hereafter is better for those who beware. Because the life of this world is temporary and mortal. The realm of the Hereafter is the realm of the Hereafter. So even if a person is in trouble here, even if he is in a predicament, this place will end one day. But since the Hereafter will be eternal, there will be no end to the torment there, nor will there be an end to peace and bliss.
If intelligent people prepare for the Hereafter before they die, they are intelligent people who have used their intellect. Other people will also be held to account for not using their intellect, which is a blessing from Allah.
What is said in the video
Before you, too, from the people of the towns, to whom We revealed, We sent none but men as prophets, it says. See: men. The prophets, too, are men. The righteous people on the Prophet's path are men too. As I said a moment ago, he will struggle with his nafs.
A beautiful saying by Hazrat Mevlana. Wherever Ayza read it. Yes. Our child puts it nicely. Before you, too, from the people of the towns, to whom We revealed, We sent none but men as prophets. The disbelievers, on the earth — have they never travelled, so that they might see how the end of those before them was? That is, to those who overstepped the limits, before destroying them, We sent prophets. In one verse Allah Almighty says this: Unless We, to the town's leading people, make Our command heard, We will not destroy the people of that town. That is, that is: unless to the town's leading people and to the people in that town We make Our command heard, We will not destroy that town, it says. And here too: before you, too, from the people of the towns, to whom We revealed, We sent none but men as prophets.
The disbelievers — have they never travelled the earth, so that they might see how the end of those before them was? Of those to whom prophets were sent and who overstepped Allah's limits, how the end was — how did they end? Either by a single cry, or by an earthquake, or by a flood, that is a deluge, or by stones, that is, the stones He calls baked clay stones, stones with a frequency, striking them like lightning. And so, Allah Almighty — Pharaoh's people too, by drowning them in the sea — we see how terrible their end was.
The disbelievers — have they never travelled the earth, so that they might see how the end of those before them was? The abode of the Hereafter is surely better for those who are mindful. Will you still not use your reason? it says. See how beautiful. Will you never come to your senses? Do you never use your reason? it says. Allah Almighty has given people reason, (?). Now: the abode of the Hereafter is surely better for those who are mindful, it says. Will you still not use your reason? How so? Since Allah Almighty sent us into the world, a hidden realm, to prove what kind of person we are, we are in a guesthouse in this transient material realm.
Then, since our true home is the realm of the Hereafter, we — just as, as long as we have life in this world, for the future yachts, palaces, mansions for ourselves, sir, in our old age, if we get old, so that we need no one, take precautions, if we take precautions — that is precaution in the world. If the world is the likeness and shadow of the Hereafter, our true home, (?) it says anyway. See, what does Allah Almighty say? The abode of the Hereafter is surely better for those who are mindful, it says. In that case, since He says it is better: in the abode of the Hereafter we are eternal. When we are to move on to an abode where there is life and which is deathless, shouldn't we prepare for it?
How? By being a servant to Allah and of the ummah of His Beloved, in the realm of the Hereafter, to yachts, to palaces, to places beneath which, beneath whose grounds rivers flow — wouldn't you want to go there? In that case, if you believe, if you have faith that after death resurrection is true, in giving account before Allah Almighty at the Supreme Court, if you believe that Paradise and Hell are true — and you did believe, so you became a Muslim — then the abode of the Hereafter is surely better than the world — will you never use your reason and think like this? it says. The abode of the Hereafter is surely better for those who are mindful.
Will you still not use your reason? it says. That is, this transient, perishable world — deceived, with the desires of the nafs, with the hints Satan gives you, by having the world's various pleasures and delights attached to your nafs, turning your back on your Lord, the true abode of the Hereafter driving into bankruptcy — are you not wary of that? Don't you use your reason, that tomorrow you will be left to an eternal punishment? says Allah Almighty. How beautiful. He is warning us. This verse — if only Allah Almighty had sent prophets from the angels, if only He had sent — is a verse sent against those who say so.
As we said in the verse above, the Arab polytheists considered the angels Allah's daughters. Since they believed so, they wanted prophets to come from them. Allah Almighty informs that the people He sent to nations before the Prophet (peace be upon him) were all men. He is reminding them. I always sent them prophets. Those prophets told of Allah as the truth. They made known that Allah has no family and no children. But however much they objected, when they overstepped Allah's laws, We destroyed them. Beware, you are on the same path, He says. He shows them those of the past as an example. Yes.
Allah Almighty informs that the people He sent to nations before the Prophet (peace be upon him), too, were all men. He never sent a prophet from among women. It is not because Allah created women lowly or saw them as weak. Allah greatly values what He creates. His sending prophets from men is so as not to go against Allah's laws. Because Allah does nothing deficient. Allah, who created women (?), incomplete, has given women certain feelings. Because of these feelings, women cannot do certain tasks. For example, women have the maternal feeling. Since a woman will act on this feeling, women cannot be judges.
But nowadays they do become judges, that's different. But according to our religion, because of the woman's maternal feeling, they cannot be judges.
Since women were created incomplete, they cannot be imams. Because they are under the protection of the man. Allah gave women qualities to take refuge in a man or to trust in her man. In this respect, one who relies on someone and is protected cannot be a leader. Likewise, out of Allah's mercy toward women, because He protects them, certain duties He has lifted from women. That is, He did not give certain duties to women. That is precisely why Allah never, by falling short in His own justice, sent a prophet from among women. He always sent prophets from among men. And now, as a man, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) He has sent as prophet.
Do the disbelievers never pass through the earth and see how the end of the communities that came before them turned out? For opposing Allah and His prophets He encompassed them with an all-encompassing punishment and wiped them off the earth. And their penalty in the Hereafter is a lasting anguish and a painful punishment. May Allah protect us from such a state.
So, for those who are mindful, the abode of the Hereafter is surely better. Because this worldly life is temporary and perishable. The true, everlasting realm is the abode of the Hereafter. So however hard-pressed a person may be here, however stuck, this place will end one day. But since the abode of the Hereafter is everlasting, neither will the punishment there end, nor will the peace and bliss end, it says. If sensible people prepare for the abode of the Hereafter before they die, they are sensible people who have used their reason. Other people, since they did not use their reason, the blessing Allah gave, will also be called to account for that.
