The one among you who hides the word, and the one who reveals it openly, the one who hides in the night and the one who walks in the day, they are all equal (in Allah’s knowledge).
Tafsir
When Allah (swt) made a covenant with our souls in the realm of Lahut, He wrote each human soul's desire and will as its destiny. Since these people cannot go beyond their destiny, while they live their desires and wishes within their destiny, Allah knows where and what they will do. Accordingly, there is nothing hidden from Allah, the Creator of events. The manifest appearance of the creatures under the cover of daylight and those hidden in the darkness of night and their secret actions are equal in the sight of Allah. No one can hide his good or evil deeds from Allah's knowledge. Wherever they are, whether seven stories under the earth, in the farthest corners of the heavens, or in the farthest corners of the strongest fortresses, Allah is aware of the whereabouts and activities of every living and non-living creature.
So, O man! Use your intellect. Won't you realize that you are before your Lord? When you do evil or commit misdemeanors, you hide them from your loved ones. You hide your evil deeds and misdemeanors so as not to shame your loved ones. Will you not be ashamed of Allah, the creator of the worlds, the owner of every creation, who sees these evils and misdemeanors all the time? Allah brings parables and examples to human beings in order to make them perfect, to strengthen their emotions, to teach them to use their minds. He purifies man from sins. He wants to save from evil and lead to good.
What is said in the video
Surah Ar-Ra'd, the 10th noble verse.
So, of Surah Ar-Ra'd, we have come up to verse 10, alhamdulillah. Whether one of you conceals speech or declares it, or one who hides by night and one who walks by day, they are equal in His knowledge.
The verse "whether one of you conceals speech or declares it" supports the verse "We are nearer to you than your jugular vein." It supports that verse.
In the remotest corner of your heart, a thing that you will come to need, even though we do not know it, Allah Almighty knows. Like what? That what we will need, in the remotest corner of our heart, we do not know, and that our Lord knows it about us. That He knows it better than we do. How can this be?
Over time people come to have desires and wishes. Things that never crossed his mind: you see that over time, through unknown doors that Allah Almighty has opened for him, new desires and wishes appear in people.
For example, we made a covenant with Allah Almighty; He knows our destiny, all the characters within our destiny and what will happen in those times; since Allah Almighty knows them, while we are unaware of the future, since within our destiny we cannot know even one second later, those future things: aren't there our desires and wishes, characters, in us; haven't those characters been placed? Since those characters will appear in our desires and wishes, "in your heart," He says, "what you need but do not know, We know," He says. "What is in the remotest corner of your heart that you cannot know." What He calls that remote corner: within destiny, over time, though you do not know that you will need it, I know that you will need it, He says.
What does it say? For example, I am a worker. I work in a factory. I barely manage to support my household. For me a car is a dream. I don't even desire it. A house is a dream. I don't even desire it. I mean, I pay my rent, I try to support my child. It's impossible. But this is Allah, after all.
The boss gives you a bonus. Or because you worked well, he says to you: take the flat over there. Where you can't pay, I'll pay, he says. The man is happy. So something he never expected, over time, by Allah Almighty's "there is not a living being, not a cell, not a single living being to come until the Day of Judgment, of which We do not know what it will do": with the support of that verse, you see the man gets a house. Then salaries go up. You see the man now longs for a car. Right? He buys his car. Whereas before it was a dream for him. So what is in the remotest corner of his heart, since Allah Almighty knows it within his destiny: "what you need but do not know, We," He says, "know." So what does it say here?
Whether one of you conceals speech or declares it: because Allah, who knows what we will do within our destiny and knows what we will do within those characters, whether one declares it or conceals it. One who hides by night and one who walks by day are, in His knowledge, equal. In the darkness of the night, in its pitch darkness, on a pitch-black stone, the walk of a pitch-black ant, its footsteps, its state: Allah knows them. One who walks by day under the sun at the brightest time and one who, in the darkness of that night, in that pitch darkness, walks on the pitch-black stone are just the same, equal in His knowledge.
For Him nothing is hidden. And because He loves people very much, if evil passes through a person's heart, as long as he does not act on it, He writes no sin for him in any way; but if a good intention passes through a person's heart, even if he does not carry it out, Allah Almighty gives a reward. What is He encouraging us to here? To be servants of Allah, to be the ummah of His Beloved, not to belong to our nafs, not to give room in our hearts to the feeling of evil, and so to be compassionate toward people, to be merciful, He commands. He commands us to spread truth and justice on earth. Indeed, if an evil passes through my heart and I don't act on it, He writes no sin for me; if a good thing passes through my heart: a mosque is being built, and I have no money to give to the mosque. "If only I had money, I'd give a few cents to it, or have one of its minarets built", and so He gives you a reward.
What does this mean? Take out of your heart everything other than Allah. Throw out the evils there. Put your Lord's light in your heart in their place. That is, adorn yourself with good feelings, so that, in return for that small portion of spirit I gave you, I may see the human being whom I made sublime, whom I made the noblest of creatures, in the most beautiful way, He says. Yes.
Whether one of you conceals speech or declares it, one who hides by night and one who walks by day are equal in His knowledge.
Allah Almighty, when He made a covenant with our souls in the realm of Lahut, wrote each human soul's own wish and will for it as its destiny. Since these people cannot step outside their own destiny, while they live out their desires and wishes within their destiny, where and what they will do is known by Allah. Accordingly, with Allah, who creates events, nothing remains hidden or covered. The open appearance of creatures under the light of day and the states of those hidden in the darkness of night and the hidden events they will bring about are equal before Allah. No one can hide the good or evil he does from Allah's knowledge.
Wherever they may be, whether seven layers beneath the earth or in the remotest corner of the heavens, or even if they were in the remotest corners of the strongest fortresses and hid there, Allah is aware of every living or non-living thing He created, where it is and what they do.
So, O human, use your mind. Will you not realize that you are before your Lord? When you do something evil or commit a fault, you hide it from your loved ones. Out of shame, so that your loved ones won't hear, you hide the evils and faults you committed. The One who constantly sees these evils and faults, who created the worlds, the owner of everything He created: will you not be ashamed before Allah? So Allah, in order to make the human a perfected human, to strengthen his feelings, to teach him to use his mind, brings people comparisons and examples. He purifies the human of sins; He wants to save him from evil and direct him toward good.
Yes.
