Say; “Tell me, if Allah would make your ears deaf, your eyes blind and your hearts sealed, who is the deity other than Allah to return them to you? See how We repeat and proclaim Our verses. Then, they again turn away from Our verses.

Tafsir

Allah (swt) says that there is no deity other than His Essence, that He is the owner of all created beings, (the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them belongs to Allah), and according to His verse, Allah (swt) addresses human beings by constantly supporting each other with His verses and by making them recite His Essence; O People! (tell me, if Allah deafens your ears, blinds your eyes, and seals your hearts, who is there besides Allah who will bring them to you?) The meaning here is; (O people! You should have known Me with the intellect I gave you. But when man became more interested in the world and forgot his Lord, My mercy reached you and I sent you Prophets and messengers. Remind them of the days with your Lord.)

This Verse and the above Verse confirm each other and are identical in meaning. It emphasizes that there is no other God but Allah. If He had not revealed His Essence to mankind, they would have become deaf to the Word of Allah. If He had not sent miracles, Books and Prophets, they would have become blind and their hearts would have been sealed so that they could not know the truth. Because Allah is compassionate and merciful to His creatures, He is constantly introducing Himself to mankind with verses and declaring that there is no other God but Allah. Since the creation of the world and the first human being Adam (as), has any other Deity other than Allah, who has announced His existence to mankind, ever come out and introduced Himself as Lord? Some perverts have come out and said, "I am your Deity", but they are all mortal and have passed away. Since there is no other Deity other than Allah, who is the only one who remains, Allah is the only one who recognizes His Essence to human beings with ears, eyes and hearts, with the realm of the heart. No other Deity other than Him has been able to make His Essence known to people as Allah through these organs. Therefore, Allah, the Exalted, is one and eternal. All created beings are servants of Allah and His creations. There is no deity other than Him. No being is capable of restoring these organs to human beings, that is, of making them recognize Him as God.

O people! Do you not use your minds and turn away from Allah, the only Creator of the worlds and the One Who invites all His creatures to His Presence and bestows His honors upon them, and then associate partners with Him? In that case, would not people be deaf, dumb, blind and have their hearts sealed? May Allah protect us from such a fate.

See how these people turn away from the Verses of Allah, following their own desires, after Allah has confirmed His Verses by supporting them with each other, by declaring that there is no deficiency in the Verses that no human mind can reach, and that there is no deficiency in the Verses that can contradict each other, and by bringing parables to people in a way that every mind can understand. Then they will not be guided.

What is said in the video

We come to Surah Al-An'am, verse 46. Surah Al-An'am, 46.

Say: tell me. To whom? To the Prophet: say, it says, tell me. For whom? He says it to the polytheists, to them. Say to them, it says, tell me. Let me see: if Allah made your ears deaf, your eyes blind, and sealed your hearts, who is the god other than Allah who would bring them back to you?

Allah gave us eyes so that we may see. He gave ears so that we may hear and tell truth from falsehood. He gave hearts so that with that heart we may affirm Allah. Affirm. Well, who other than Allah, who created these this way, could give us these? It is impossible; no one other than Allah can give them. Well, Allah Almighty, who gave these to us like this, as He wills, our eyes completely blind, our ears deaf. Aren't there (?)? There are. Can He not also bind our hearts, can He not seal them? Can He not make them like stones? There are stones, it says; Allah Almighty gives those who deny as an example in the verse, such people. There are stones, it says, from which springs flow, water flows.

But theirs, it says, are even harder. In this way, how beautifully Allah Almighty tries to make Himself known to people. Well, tell me, let me see. If Allah made your ears deaf, your eyes blind, and sealed your hearts, who is the god other than Allah who would bring them back to you?

Why? He tells us of our eyes, our ears and our hearts, but not of our other limbs. Hearts, eyes, ears are (?) animals, though.

The only difference between humans and animals is that Allah Almighty gave of His spirit, gave a part of His spirit, and left partial free will in man. With this partial will, people will see with their eyes by their own wishes and desires,

hear with their ears, give their nafs its whims, and with their hearts keep their souls alive. Keep their souls alive in the places they desire. If one of these were missing, the taste in a person's life would be damaged. His zest for life would diminish. For example, for a blind man, are the one who sees and the one who does not the same here? For example, for one whose ear is deaf, are one who hears and one who does not the same? And is the state of one who submits to Allah with his heart and one who does not the same? One is at peace, one is restless. Their hearts are scattered. In this case, animals, although they have the same traits, carry out their duties because they are programmed.

Within the program, there is no pleasure for them. A program. Don't they learn too? Isn't that a pleasure? That too is within a program. Within their program. And for humans, that pleasure is within their own will. There is a very great difference between the two. In this case, those animals perform their duties. But not so that they enjoy pleasure while living on earth. So that they carry out the duties programmed for them. In this case, Allah Almighty here makes known the main points of people's enjoyment of life. If We deprive you of these points, who can give you back the pleasure you took from them, He says.

No one can give it. If my eye were blind, Allah forbid, what pleasure would I take from right and left? If my ear were blocked, if I did not hear people talking, what pleasure would I take from their talk? Like a vegetative life. I would only understand as much as my eyes see. And if my heart were sealed, my carnal whims would draw such a veil over the word of truth before my eyes that they would show me the world, Satan and the taghuts following in Satan's footsteps as rosy, and I would trail after them. I would turn my back on the truth. I would finish my life swimming in disasters, in afflictions.

Allah forbid. Yes. And Allah Almighty gives a fine example. Say: tell me, let me see, if Allah made your ears deaf, your eyes blind and sealed your hearts, who is the god other than Allah who would bring them back to you? Look how We repeat and explain Our verses, it says. How it repeats, one by one: there, the Wise Reminder, the Quran. How? So that they will understand in some way. It keeps repeating the same words. And what does it say in the verse? We never refrain from giving the example of a mosquito, or something greater, it says. That is, by mosquito it means the most helpless creature. Here too, the most ignorant person, who never uses his mind and is content only with what he sees, an ignorant person living in ignorance: We address him, it says, and the most learned too, We never refrain from addressing, it says.

The person in ignorance is His servant too. The learned one is His servant too. So He will explain both to the one in ignorance and bring them a parable in a way the learned one will enjoy.

In some verses there are such parables that

you know, this is truly a word said to the most ignorant. It seems very low to us, but He is saying it to him. Because your degree is higher, because your knowledge is greater, He is explaining it to him in the verse. The verse comes to light. It appears. Allah never refrains from giving the mosquito and such parables, such examples, He says. You read those too. And when you see that thing, you grasp how He speaks to those people through the parable. You understand. That too gives a person an art of speaking. Yes. Each verse is an ocean. Each verse. That there is no god besides Allah Almighty Himself, that He is the owner of created beings, according to the verse in which Allah says the inheritance of the heavens, the earth and what is between them is His, continually, with His verses supporting one another and having Himself remembered, Allah addresses people.

Continually He has Himself remembered, and also shows us a way. And He gives the finest comparisons. O people! Tell me, let me see. If Allah made your ears deaf, your eyes blind, and sealed your hearts, who is the god other than Allah who would bring them back to you? Who is it? No one. Why? Because there is no god but Allah. Let there not be. What would happen? He created this universe. If He created it, He is trying to make known to us that none of the beings He created is able to create anything, that all created things, from the atom to the globe, are in need of Allah, that they cannot do without that Allah; this He is trying to make known to us.

It cannot be done without Allah. These worlds would not run. these beings could not sustain their lives, could not live. Why? I would live. If afflictions came to you during life, one after another, one after another, and your Lord had forgotten you, if you had no Lord,

and death too were done away with,

the worms crawling on the ground would walk better, healthier than you. You would wish for death a thousand times, a hundred thousand times, but since there is no death, you would say, O my Creator, where are You, take my soul.

Would one say such a thing? You will say it, won't you. Where? In the hereafter, in hell. O destruction, where are you, they will say. What does it say? Destruction, where are you? But, it says, there is no more destruction. That is, no death. Why do these people ask for destruction like that? What is the reason? Because Allah's mercy has been lifted from them. Because Allah cut off His mercy from them and drove them out of His mercy, there they are left alone, with no one, so they say, destruction, where are you? There is no more destruction.

So this is the world. Without Allah it cannot be. Every living thing, every created thing, is in need of Allah. If a person uses his reason, if he uses his reason, if they said to me, in this state of mine, though, or Allah Almighty,

if He said, take these worlds and run them,

and you will see no mercy from Me, and said to you immortality, if He said immortality to you, to me, I am speaking for myself,

by Allah and again by Allah, I would not accept. If He left my will to me, and depending on the answer that comes from me, Allah Almighty had (?) me to decide about myself, I would say, My Allah, far be it, I will not do this job. Why? I gave you immortality. I gave you the running of these worlds. I gave you the running of the realm of dominion. Why do you not want it? As long as I do not have the power to create, I can neither take charge of these worlds nor govern myself. Only if there is Allah's mercy, my Lord's mercy upon me, then would I run these worlds. If someone's line died out in this world, how would I restore his line?

The balance would be upset. If anything happened in this world, immortality would be done away with. Since it is done away with, some diseases will appear, and in those diseases people or creatures will moan and groan. Then I would be the one who ran them. This is Allah's work alone, Allah's.

This is Allah's work. That is why, even if this much authority were given, with that authority, I say it for myself, I cannot do without my Lord. That is why I will never step outside what He says.

If we use our reason.

I don't know if I am getting something across? Yes.

O people! Tell me, let me see. If Allah made your ears deaf, your eyes blind, and sealed your hearts, who is the god other than Allah who would bring them back to you? The meaning here: O people! With the reason I gave you, you should have known Me. You should have known Me. When man increased his attachment to the world, he forgot his Lord. A measure of My mercy reached you. I sent you messengers and prophets. O My Beloved! Remind them of the days with their Lord, it says. Which? "Alastu bi Rabbikum." What happened there? That when He said I am your Lord, we each made a covenant with Him. Remind them of that, We say.

Yes. This verse and the verse above confirm each other and in meaning are the same. That is, (?) the verse. It emphasizes that there is no god other than Allah. Had He not made Himself known to people, people, not hearing the word of Allah, would have been as if deaf. Had He not sent miracles, books and prophets, they would have been as if blind. And so, with their hearts sealed, people could not have known the truth. Because Allah is compassionate and merciful to His creatures, continually, with verses, making Himself known to people, that there is no god other than Allah He declares.

All this time, since the world was created, and from the first man, Adam (peace be upon him), since the world was created, since then. The first man to come down to the world was Adam (peace be upon him). Since then, Allah Almighty has always been addressing people. To people.

What does He say? There is no god but Allah. Satan is your enemy. Beware of the two-legged taghuts; do not wrong your souls by going outside Allah's commands, He says. And although He continually signals that there is no god but Allah, some deviants rise up, like Pharaoh, like Nimrod, and say, I too am a god. But within their lifetimes, in the end, some are destroyed, and some croak and are gone. In this case, Allah Almighty, still self-subsisting, our Lord, calls out to us. To the people He created, ever since our father Adam; before him to the jinn; before that to the angels; before that, He who created the worlds from His light, and who first created His Beloved from His own light, is raising His Beloved.

Yes.

Has any god other than Allah, who announces His existence to people, ever come forth and until today made himself known as Lord? Has he made himself known as Lord until today? When they did, what happened? They all croaked and were gone. Hodja, what does "croak" mean? To croak. Let me explain croaking to you.

Animals croak. Of animals one says, it croaked. The reason is that they had no soul.

In this case,

the two-legged people, of whom the verse says they are like four-legged beasts, those who go to the hereafter as disbelievers outside the religion of Islam, croak and are gone. They do not die. Death belongs to Muslims. Muslims taste death in the body. Disbelievers, disbelievers croak. That is, they are four-legged people. You know, of whom it says they are like the four-legged walking the earth, even (?) more astray. For this reason you cannot say a non-Muslim died. I was a child, six or seven years old, I suppose. I had a mind to sell newspapers. I got permission from my father. My father laughed too.

Go on, son, let us sell them then, since that's how it is. In Samsun there was the Canik newspaper. Canik, back then. Now, Churchill had just died. They told us, shout "Churchill died, Churchill died," they said. I was six or seven years old.

I took them. Twenty, twenty-five newspapers. Now I am shouting, "Churchill died, Churchill died." In front of the municipality there is the Bafra Hotel. A coffeehouse underneath. A man wearing bellows boots like this, riding breeches. He has a thing like this in his hand. Something like a (?). Clearly an agha, I mean. Son, come here, he said, and called me. Thirty, thirty-five years old. Come, my child, he said, come, he said to me. I went. Give me a newspaper, he said. (?) I gave him the newspaper. I am happy that I sold a newspaper. Say, shout "Churchill croaked," he said. They, he said, do they die? They don't die, he said.

Muslims die, he said. You shout "Churchill croaked," he said. Would I hold back after that? (?) Then we are shouting, "Churchill croaked, (?)."

Yes.

So death is for Muslims, croaking for non-Muslims. Why? They are like the four-legged walking the earth, it says. They are like the four-legged. Yes.

So has any god other than Allah ever come forth and until today made himself known as Lord? No. What happened to those who did? They croaked and were gone.

If someone is made equal to Allah, if it is among the major sins, what does Allah Almighty say? We will make them eternal people of hell, He says. We will put them in hell forever. Even if some deviants came forth and said, I am your god, since all of them were mortal, they croaked and were gone. Here I wrote that they died and were gone. Because I wrote it for the general public, I wrote it that way. Yes, since there is no god other than Allah, the Everlasting and the One, Allah, who makes Himself known to people with ears, eyes and hearts, with the world of the heart, is everlasting and one. Yes, no god other than Him has been able to make himself known to people as Allah through these organs mentioned.

through these organs mentioned. Yes, they made shapes. But they neither gave them life nor made their organs able to hear. Yes.

So Allah, whose glory is exalted, is one and everlasting. All created beings are Allah's servants and His creatures. There is no god but Him. Nor is any being able to bring these mentioned organs to people, that is, to make itself known as Allah.

O people! Do you never use your reason? Is one to turn away from Allah, the One who created the worlds and who invites all His creatures to Himself and bestows favours on them; are partners ascribed to Him? With which reason do you make something with your hand from His creatures and worship it, saying, this is my god ? Those plants that Allah created, when you carve it from those trees and take it as a god, or carve and shape those stones, that earth, and worship it as a god, those stones and that earth or those trees are more intelligent than you. Why? If with your reason you worship a being that has no awareness of itself, then you, with the reason you have, fall lower than that which has no reason.

For it has no reason, yet you worship it; it has no life, yet you worship it; it is of no use to you, yet you worship it. Allah created it, and Allah created you. But He gave you reason. If with your reason you worship it in opposition to your Lord, you fall into a state even lower than it. Here is a verse for you. On the Day of Judgment, it says, when We say, where are those you worshipped, they left us and went, they will say. Yes. So with this reason of yours, you do not use your reason. You dodge Allah. If you step outside His verses, you fall lower even than that creature you worship, which you call lifeless.

Yes.

O people! Do you never use your reason? Is one to turn away from Allah, the One who created the worlds and who invites all His creatures to Himself and bestows favours on them; are partners ascribed to Him? In this case, are people not deaf, dumb, blind, and their hearts sealed? Deaf, and dumb, and blind, and their hearts sealed. Why? What difference is left between you and it? What difference is left between you and that creature, that created being, those lifeless objects? Your only difference: that you have a soul and a reason. If with this reason you cannot find them, while you were created as an honoured being above them, if, not knowing that honoured place you were created in, you worship that plant life, that stone, that earth, you fall into the state of a being even more base, even lower in rank than it.

Man is man by the deeds he does, it says. By some of his deeds he is baser than an animal.

In this case, are people not deaf, dumb, blind, and their hearts sealed? May Allah protect us from being like this and from such an end. So Allah Almighty, supporting His verses with one another, declaring that in the verses, which no human mind can reach, there is no flaw, no deficiency by which they would contradict one another, bringing people comparisons in a way every mind can understand, after making people affirm His existence; look how these people still follow their nafs and turn away from Allah's verses. These will no longer come to the right path. Yes.

Yes.
