Al-An'am 68: When you see those who talk about Our verses mockingly, turn away from them and do not sit with them until they change (the subject) to a different word. If Shaytan makes you forget to turn away from them, once you remember, stand up and do not sit with these oppressing people.

When you see those who speak mockingly about the verses, turn away from them. All right, but the man is even a Muslim, and he still makes fun of it. But you know that he isn't making fun of it. You know this too. Against your explaining the truth, joining in with the feelings of the nafs, the truth (?) he is trying. He is trying to (?) the truth. And in this situation, what do you say to this person? How do you think about this?

A Muslim, carried away only by (?) feelings, is struggling to defeat you. According to that knowledge of his, (?), those comforts, he has come out against the truth. Yet if he knew that (?) falsehood is weak, he would never bother with it. He wouldn't come out against you that way. But he does. And this time he says words that don't befit a Muslim. Words that don't befit a Muslim. Like what? For example, in our last lesson: an unmarried person gets a hundred lashes, and for them there is a light (?) punishment, so why are these given the heavy punishment of stoning?

Now does this befit a Muslim?

Allah Almighty's (?), carry out stoning on them, or else the punishment of stoning that the Prophet (peace be upon him) applied — you, in this way, just to belittle the person in front of you, to supposedly humiliate him, if you speak like this against Allah's verses, what shall we say to you, how shall we turn our faces from you; we only tell you this: reform your nafs.

Some say it like this: know yourself, yourself; if you don't know yourself, (?), it says.

When you see those who speak mockingly about Our verses, turn away from them. Don't sit with them! Until they plunge into some other talk. These, of course, are for the polytheists, for the unbelievers. Yes. Now how are you going to do this to a Muslim? You will have to explain with patience, with patience. With patience. Yes.

If Satan makes you forget to turn away from them, once you remember, (?), and do not sit with those wrongdoing people.

Because when they start talking, they don't care whether it's Allah, the Book or the Prophet, they talk loosely; do not, it says, listen in on them. The following verses will also say it. If you have nowhere to go, plug your ears, it says, and sit. If you are a believer, answer them. If you are in a position to answer. If they don't understand, if you have nowhere to go, withdraw to one side and stay there. Yes. We'll come to it, God willing. Those who are enemies of Allah, when they see the Prophet and religious people or people who remember Allah, in order to mock them, they talk loosely about Allah's verses.

When people see a friend of Allah, Allah immediately comes to their minds. This shows that person's friendship with Allah. It shows that he is His friend. If a person sees someone and Allah immediately comes to his mind, that person's friendship with Allah becomes evident. So they too, when they see such people, because Allah immediately comes to their minds and because they are rebellious against Allah, just to hurt that person, they mock — they don't know that those people, from Allah, the Owner of the worlds, are awaiting the time of receiving such a (?). If only they had known these things.

They talk loosely about Allah's verses in order to mock. Since in this world Allah Almighty will put no pressure on people because of their speech — everyone will talk, everyone will say what he will say. It's not as if there were no Kiraman Katibin present beside people, he says, that is, on both sides. Let them not write what comes out of their mouths, it says. Yes, so everyone will prove what kind of person he is; so as to prove where his punishment or his reward lies, that person will speak by his own will, freely, without restraint, and prove what kind of person he is. Yes, since in this world Allah Almighty will put no pressure on people for their speech, since every person, living his own destiny within the covenant he gave, will make himself a witness before Allah, He commands: by listening to such people's loose talk about Allah's word, you too — do not become sinners.

Because consenting to evil is like committing it. Consent to evil. If it passes through your heart that they are right, that too is consent to evil in the heart.

So when you see such people, don't go near them, and while sitting with them, when they start mocking Allah's verses, move away from them. Perhaps these people will plunge into some other talk. Or else you had nowhere to go. Plug your ears, it says. Perhaps this person will plunge into some other talk. If, when they are together, Allah's verses, Allah's way — when they start talking about these, your being with them — being or not being with them — if Satan makes you forget (?), when you remember, at once from beside them one gets up. Of course — you got absorbed in their conversation. You forgot Allah Almighty's verse "do not sit with them".

And you were curious what they were talking about. You saw that about Allah, about the Prophet, about the Book they were talking loosely. Then you came to yourself at once. Ah, Satan made me forget this, you say. You immediately get up from there and move away from those people. Afterwards you say: repentance, astaghfirullah. You say, my Allah, forgive me. You repent. Since You created me with human nature, I became absent-minded. My Lord, who knows me better than I do, will forgive my sin, God willing, he says. Then he moves away. Because they will speak against the truth with bad words, words — so that the people of faith, unable to bear it, do not cause an accident with their own hands, since Allah protects the people of faith, He commands (?) being near them.

Yes. Such a situation may arise. He gets up; a person can find no words against him, but because there is faith, he resorts to the law of the jungle. What is the law of the jungle? The strong eat the weak. The strong eat the weak. Here perhaps they are a whole group. And you are alone. Their harshness toward you, so to speak, (?). Or else you (?) an accident. You end up taking a life that Allah Almighty did not want taken. Because every person will prove what kind of person he is. (?), you have no right to cause him harm. So Allah Almighty, events like this where turmoil and fighting would break out on earth, He prevents those too. In this situation.

These are the wrongdoing people. Such people, since they have no light of faith, their hearts are black and hard. They are both fierce and harsh toward one another and unjust toward their own nafs. These are the wrongdoers. If they die in the state they are in and do not repent, their place is eternal Hell. Their place is eternal Hell. As long as they persist in the state they are in.
