Al-An'am 70: Give advice with it to those who make their religion a matter of game and joy and who have fooled themselves with the worldly life, so that no one will fall into punishment with what they have earned. For them, there is no friend and no intercessor other than Allah. Any ransom that they will pay to alleviate the punishment will not be accepted. Tafsir
Since Allah (swt) is compassionate and merciful to His creatures, He knows what human beings will do with His knowledge. He sends Prophets and Books as a mercy to the people whom He sends to the realm of the unseen, so that they will not be dragged to destruction. Because in the realm of property, people who have closed their destiny to themselves have forgotten the Hereafter. Allah (swt) says to His Prophet, "My Messenger, advise those people who have forgotten Allah and the Hereafter, and to whom the life of this world seems to them to be ornate and pleasurable, with the Qur'an, so that no one may be driven to destruction by the sins they have committed.
Since Allah (swt) is compassionate and merciful to His creatures, even though He knows what His people will do, would He say to His Messenger, "Advise them with the verses of the Holy Qur'an. Would He say that no one should fall into destruction because of the sins they have committed? Those who have been dragged into the swamps of disbelief with the sins they have committed and all people should know that on the Day of Judgment, on that Day of Reckoning, they will have neither a friend nor an intercessor other than Allah. If people pass on to the Hereafter in the mire of disbelief, no amount of ransom will be enough to remove the torment from them. Here the meaning goes very deep. Let us try to explain it in a way that we can understand. Property and wealth belong to Allah. However, man needs wealth and property, or Allah's creations, in order to make a living and live in the realm of property. While they are procuring these things, they earn rewards and sins in proportion to the covenant they have made with Allah (swt), through their trade and commerce, as they earn (halal or haram).
People pass on to the Hereafter with the things they have earned, i.e. their good deeds and sins, and they leave their wealth to Allah in this world, according to the verse that says: "The inheritance of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah". If Allah were to ransom all of their wealth in the world, including the wealth of those people who commit wrongdoing in the world, in return for their labor and the loss of the wealth they have earned in the world through labor and hardship, it would not be accepted. This is because wealth and property are things created for people to fulfill their covenants. Therefore, Allah does not need what He has created, so that He can take it from them as ransom. In the Hereafter, worldly wealth has no value in the sight of Allah in exchange for the good deeds and sins committed. This is because it is stated in another verse (the world will be rolled up like a rag and thrown into Hell). In this respect, the ransom of what one has earned in this world in exchange for labor is not accepted from people for the sins they have committed.
These are the people of the wrongdoers, those who disbelieved in Allah and His Verses and mocked at them, and fell into destruction because of the sins they committed. What a burden of torment they have borne in their eternal and immortal life.
They will be made to drink boiling water in Hell for their disbelief, which will make them thirstier and thirstier. And they will be punished with a painful torment. May Allah protect the Ummah of Muhammad from such a fate. May He guide those who do not believe with correction.
What is said in the video
Yes, those who have taken their religion as a toy and an amusement, and whom the life of this world has deceived, admonish them with it, so that no one falls into ruin because of what he has earned. Now, can you see our Lord's mercy here?
How merciful He is to people, how compassionate, how protecting of forgiveness, how forgiving. Let's read it again; look how beautifully He says it. Those who have taken their religion as a toy and an amusement, that is, when they mock the words I spoke and take them as a toy, the life of this world has deceived them. People who have been carried away by a passing world and bankrupted their hereafter, it has blinded their eyes. And in this blindness the world, to them, in a (?) image, into that swamp, to the people drawn into it, to those who are there, with it admonish, that is, admonish with the verses of Allah, so that no one, because of what he has earned, falls into ruin.
That is, so that they do not suffer harm, so that tomorrow, on the Day of Judgement, they do not end up in eternal torment. For them there is neither a friend nor an intercessor other than Allah. So, since besides Allah Almighty, who created these worlds, there is neither a god, nor a partner of His, nor, well, anyone close to Him, since He is the one who holds judgement in His judgement, since we will all give account in His presence, the world's alluring events that pull us, He says. So that they do not deceive people and make them ruin their own selves.
That is why, if such people plunge into the world, He says. Therefore there is neither a friend nor an intercessor other than Allah for them. However much ransom he gives to lift the torment, it will not be accepted. They have fallen into ruin because of the sins they earned. Because of the kufr they committed, they will be made to take boiling water and a painful torment. Boiling water and a painful torment.
Here Allah Almighty, you see, says ransom. (?) As in this world. Come on, brother, fine, you've taken me captive, or you're tormenting me like this, but let me give you so much property, so much money, and you let me go. Ransom. You get free of it.
Now, saying this, a man from the Companions came to my mind. I can't remember his name. An old man. One of the rich men of Mecca too. He stayed in Mecca. In the end he too decides to emigrate to Medina. Of course they don't let him go. When they don't, he says: I am an old man. I'm in no position to harm you. You know I have property here. Yes. Take it and let me go, he says. Yes. And when he reaches Medina, one of the Companions, the Prophet says: let me tell you about the trade you made. Will you tell it? he says. What a beautiful trade. Yes.
That is why, for people, in the world of the hereafter, that boiling water, He says. When he is hungry, He says, he will eat from the fruit of the zaqqum tree. It will boil, He says, in that person's belly. It neither fills that person nor relieves his hunger. Then a burning heat comes over him, He says: boiling water. And there is also another mixed water for it, He says. That too is (?). May Allah protect us.
And here, also, a (?) torment increases.
Since Allah Almighty is compassionate and merciful toward what He created, He also knows with His pre-eternal knowledge what people will do.
What the people He created are aware of, what they will do, with what we call His pre-eternal knowledge: Allah Almighty, when He created our (?) and made a covenant with us, who as a result of our covenant gave us those characters, who knows what, as a result of those characters, our wishes and desires will be, Allah Almighty creates (?) according to time. Within those (?), people, by their own wishes and desires, (?) the deed they want, and earn sin. Yes.
Out of mercy to the people He sent into the unseen world, He sends prophets and books so that they are not dragged into ruin; He has pity on people. Now, if We had not sent you a prophet and a book, with the reason I gave you, you should have known Me, He says. You should have known Me. But a little, He says, just a little. My mercy reached you; I sent books and prophets. This directly, again, a (?) ruling of the Lord reminds us; with the reason He gave us we should have known Allah; partial will, partial will: there we were created, in the realm of lahut, when He said I am your Lord, without interfering with us at all, without causing us torment or suffering, without pressure, leaving us completely free within our own will, by our own wish and desire we had ourselves programmed.
So, when we came into the world, He says, if We had not sent you prophets and books, you should have known Us with the reason We gave you. Because every mind knows that it was created by a (?) creator, and that is why. But, He says, since it is an unseen world, a world where My Self is not seen, My mercy reached you. I sent prophets and books, He says. But man is so ungrateful that although he knows everything, still, to Allah, they (?). I'm correcting my word. I said man is so ungrateful. We should say some people. We came across them as wrong in (?) places in the Quran. People are ungrateful, it says.
These are Allah's attributes. What kind of attributes? When it says people are ungrateful, it covers all people. All of them. Then Allah Almighty would have been unable to create a person who would know His (?) and not be ungrateful. Those attributes are Allah's. Many people, or some people, are ungrateful. So there are those who know Allah, and those who don't. Just as in those three groups there are those on the right and those on the left, those who know and those who don't, like that. Can you understand? What subtle points. Yes.
That's why the Quran is very subtle. Very subtle. Well, Hodja, you might say this: What person is created deficient, then? That's different. Being created deficient doesn't count as a person's ingratitude. Out of his helplessness he will make mistakes, out of his helplessness, and knowing he made a mistake, he will ask Allah Almighty for forgiveness. But when you're in a tight spot with Allah Almighty, you beg: my Allah, save me from this sea, my Allah, save me from this wrath, my Allah, save me from this debt. (?) Say: look how I will worship You then. And Allah Almighty saves you from those troubles.
Then you carry on along your old path again. Yes, these are very unjust, very ungrateful, He says. Now they have put there: people are very ungrateful. No: some people, or many people, are very ungrateful. Yes.
So a mistake made because of being created deficient is different. My Allah, I could not know this, or I followed my nafs. I made such a mistake, or I did such a thing. (?) forgive me: that is different. Begging Allah to be saved from torment and suffering and then turning your back and (?) is something else.
Since Allah Almighty is compassionate and merciful toward what He created, He also knows with His pre-eternal knowledge what people will do. Yes.
Out of mercy to the people He sent into the unseen world, He sends prophets and books so that they are not dragged into ruin. Because in the world of possession, people who have (?) their destinies to themselves have forgotten the hereafter. Allah Almighty to His Prophet: My Beloved, to the people who have forgotten Allah and the hereafter, to whom the life of this world seems adorned and pleasurable, admonish them with the Quran so that no one is dragged into ruin by the sins they earned, He commands. How beautifully He has the Prophet give advice. Since scholars are the heirs of the Prophet, scholars too follow the same way.
And we say the same. What do we say? O people, do not step outside what Allah says. Do not associate partners with Allah. Your (?), give your zakat. Perform your prayer. Keep your fast. If you have money, go on your hajj. Never busy yourselves with things Allah does not want. Do not set your eyes on the adornment of worldly life and turn into a (?) who has cancelled the hereafter. We give advice like that too. Are you the same with yourself, Hodja? I'm the same with myself. I am what I look like. I am as I appear. I am as I appear, and I appear as I am. Yes. Maybe my appearance looks harsher, I don't know.
I myself am gentler. Yes. Allah Almighty is compassionate and merciful toward what He created. Though He knows what people will do, to His Beloved, with the verses of the Holy Quran: admonish them. Let no one fall into ruin by the sins they earned.
If He is merciful, wasn't it 'let them not fall into ruin by the sins they earned'? That was His love for His servants. You know how sometimes they say... what do they say?
Allah does not love the disbelievers.
But Allah does not discriminate among His servants. (?)
Allah does not love those who persist in disbelief. So the words are always incomplete. The words are always incomplete. In this case people, with incomplete words, have taken on (?). The light of faith of the kalima shahada protected them. Their faith.
Would He say 'let no one fall into ruin by the sins they earned'? Those dragged into the swamps of kufr by the sins they committed, and all people, should have known that on the Day of Judgement, on that day of reckoning, there is neither a friend nor an intercessor other than Allah. All people need to know this, just so. Since He says every soul will taste death and finally your return is to Me,
since He says the inheritance of the heavens and the earth and what is between them will remain to Allah, according to this verse, that there is no god but Allah, that Allah Himself created the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and that finally those souls will taste death and give account in the presence of Allah, the absolute owner of these worlds: this He makes known to us. Yes.
So on the Day of Judgement, surely, in the world of the hereafter we have neither a friend nor an intercessor other than Allah. None. So in this world perform the prayer, the prayer. Let prayer be (?) for you. Yes. First you will be asked about prayer. If you pray, your reckoning will be easy. Easy. Allah Almighty already says in His verse: however much, He says, when rising for prayer, He says, however much laziness you feel, He says, keep up the prayer with patience, He says. With patience. But prayer is not heavy for the friends of Allah. Yes. That is why keep up the prayer, so that there at least, you know how in this world you know someone, and you're among the guilty, among the guilty. But, but the one who will call those guilty to account sees that he knows you, one of your relatives.
He winks at you without anyone noticing. You just stand there like this. That is, you have pull. What's that? From the bond of kinship.
Prayer is like that too.
Yes. But you might tell me this. You quoted a hadith, Hodja. If the acts of worship you perform do not keep you from evil, they are a burden on you. Yes, but prayer at least keeps a person from evil, even a little, it keeps him from it. And it is not like not praying either. The Prophet says it about praying and being worthy of prayer, that blessed person. What does he say? If the acts of worship you do do not keep you from evil, they are a burden on you. But at least, against the sin you will commit, you earn reward by praying. At least that kind of takes it away. But if you want to see its benefit, he says, (?) from those evils, he says.
Yes.
If people pass to the hereafter inside the swamp of kufr, however much ransom they give to lift the torment from themselves, it will not be accepted.
Allah has no need of ransom. He is the Creator; whatever He wills, He creates. He is giving us a reminder here. In the world you might get free with ransom, but Allah has no need of ransom, He says. When you see that torment, He says, even if there were another world along with this world and what's in it, and you gave it to Allah, you would want to be saved, He says. But unfortunately. Yes.
Here the meaning goes down very deep. Let's try to explain this a bit in a way we can understand. Possession belongs to Allah. But man, to provide his livelihood in the world of possession and to live, has need of goods and property, or of what Allah created, a need he has. And while obtaining these, in proportion to the covenants they gave Allah Almighty, through the trade and dealings they carried out, reward and sin they earn. Just as they earn halal or haram. People pass to the hereafter with the (?) they earned, that is, with the events of reward and sin. According to His verse saying the inheritance of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah, their goods they leave to Allah in the world and go.
So Allah, as the goods they earned in the world with effort and toil leave their hands, in return for their effort, all the goods in the world and (?) including in the world, even if those people who commit wrong had it and gave it to Allah as ransom, it would still not be accepted. Yes.
So for the toilsome times people spent in the world earning, spent on the goods they earned, Allah Almighty, to those people, in return for their toil: even if there were what is in this world once more, He says, and you gave it to Allah to be saved, He doesn't even take that into account. And on condition of not taking that toil of yours into account either, with the (?) they did, He says, like those mountains, He says, striking each other, He says, in a windy, windy air, like a threshing floor being scattered, He says, it is scattered and gone. So your sins are scattered and gone. So why does He not take that toil of yours into account?
Because He created you, gave you so much sustenance, gave you a life. And within this life you already took your pleasure and enjoyment. In return for your effort you tasted it with pleasure and enjoyment. You received your reward in the world. You left nothing for the hereafter.
Because goods and property, so that people can bring out the covenants they gave, are created (?). In this respect Allah has no need of what He Himself created, that He would take it from him as ransom. In return for good deeds and sins committed, worldly goods in the hereafter, in Allah's sight, have no value at all. Because again in a verse, the world will be seen like a rag and thrown into hell, it says. Yes. In this respect, against the sins people committed, the benefit of the goods earned in the world through effort is not accepted.
So those who are such a community of wrongdoers, that is, those who go to the hereafter as non-Muslims, we call the community of wrongdoers. On earth there can be a community of wrongdoers. Though that person by creation is within the Muslim (?), among a community of wrongdoers he may have been created. It can be.
In that case, when that person finds the truth, he turns right away. If the community of wrongdoers continues in that state and passes to the hereafter that way, then, since among them there are no longer any who will turn back to the truth, all of them are a community of wrongdoers. Those who are this community of wrongdoers, who deny Allah and Allah's verses, who set about mocking them, are those who fell into ruin because of the sins they earned. In their eternal and deathless life, what an evil load of torment they have taken on. It is an eternal life.
These are the people of hell. People of hell means those who can never get out of there again, who remain in eternal hell, trapped there by prison walls. Eternally.
Why do these stay there like this, as people of hell, eternally?
Man, because he cannot exert his rule over a single being, ends up in eternal torment. Over whom can man not exert his rule? He cannot rule the nafs given to him. Yet why did Allah give you that nafs? You will eat, drink, have intercourse, take, give, always be selfish, always want. Its being like that is to make your living pleasurable, to add life to your life, to bind you to the world, to let you enjoy the world. Well, in this case, alongside it, Allah lays down His laws. He says: look, eat, drink, travel, enjoy yourself. But within these measures, within the Sharia rulings; if you step outside them, I will brand your nose, He says.
And if you like that life, the life of the nafs, and become a captive of the nafs, then your (?) they brand like that. But if you rule your nafs, within the Sharia rulings Allah stated, you find both peace and mercy, and you enter among the saintly servants of Allah. What is that? Ruling a single thing: your nafs. Yes.
So those who are this community of wrongdoers, who deny Allah and Allah's verses, who set about mocking them, are those who because of the sins they earned fell into ruin. In their eternal and deathless life, what an evil load of torment they have taken on. Because of the kufr they committed, in hell, the more they thirst, boiling waters that will burn them even more will be given to them to drink. And they will be punished with a constant painful torment. May Allah protect the whole ummah of Muhammad from such an end, and grant those who do not believe reform and guidance too.
