Al-An'am 80: And his nation argued with him. He said; “Are you arguing with me about Allah, while Allah has guided me to the right path? I do not fear the things that you associate as partners to Allah. As long as my Lord does not desire, they cannot do anything to me. My Lord has encircled everything with Allah’s knowledge. Won’t you contemplate?”

Translation

And his nation argued with him.

Tafsir

When the people of Abraham fought with him because the idols worshipped by his people were being insulted because of his disbelief in idols, Abraham said: "Do you dare to quarrel with me about it when Allah has guided me to the right path? If people were to use a modicum of reason, they would know that what they make with their own hands are also the creations of Allah. Does it not show that they are unable to use their intellect that these creatures, unbeknownst to them, such as stones, earth, trees, vegetation, stars, moon, sun, etc., have been made available for the service of human beings, and that human beings believe in them as gods and want to worship them? God cannot be objects and creations that disappear or sink or are unaware of Him. God is always with His creatures, knowing their condition and providing for their needs. Ibrahim, the guided Prophet, told his people that Allah has guided me to the right path and you dare to dispute with me about Him? I have no fear of what you associate with Allah. He said that nothing can harm man unless Allah wills it. O my people! My Lord surrounds everything with His knowledge. There is no deity besides Him. He is the Creator and Owner of all creation. He said, "Will you not think properly?" He said, "Will you not give up those who still ascribe partners to Allah, according to the verse that says, 'If there were any other deity besides Him, He would take what He created and the other would take what He created, and there would be chaos?

What is said in the video

Surah Al-An'am, let us come to verse 80. His people also set out to struggle against him. He said: Now that Allah has guided me to the right path, are you trying to dispute with me about Him? Are you trying to dispute with me about Him? I never fear the things you associate with Him. Would a person fear the idols they cling to like this? He carves them with his own hand. Of course, unless Allah wills — Allah will in a moment lift it and have it strike you on the head too. Unless Allah wills, would a person draw back from them? I never fear the things you associate with Him. Unless my Lord wills. They can do nothing to me.

My Lord encompasses everything in His knowledge. Will you then not reflect and take heed, he says. Will you not reflect and take heed? Yes.

Because Abraham did not believe in the idols, among his people, when they entered into a struggle with Abraham because the idols they worshipped were being insulted, Abraham said: Now that Allah has guided me to the right path, are you trying to dispute with me about Him? If people used their minds even a little, they would know that what they make with their own hands is also what Allah created. That these have no power or strength over anything; that these creatures, unaware of themselves, beings like stone, soil, trees, plants, stars, the moon and the sun, are put at people's service; and that people want to believe in them as gods and worship them — this shows that they do not use their minds.

Yes, Allah Almighty says, 'Do you never use your minds?' — these people do not use their minds. Allah cannot be things that vanish or set or are unaware of themselves, created things. Allah, together with His creations, is the One who knows their states at every moment and meets their needs. Allah is this, the One who gives life to all His creations with His attribute al-Hayy. So Abraham, who was guided, said to his people: Now that Allah has guided me to the right path, are you trying to dispute with me about Him? I never fear what you associate with Allah, he says. He said: unless Allah wills, nothing can harm a person.

O my people! My Lord encompasses everything in His knowledge. There is no god but Him. He is the Creator and Owner of all created things. Will you not (?) reflect now? If there were another god besides Him, one would take what it created, the other would take what it created, and the world would drown in corruption — according to this verse, the state of those who still associate partners with Allah, will you not give it up? — so he was giving his people advice. Advice.

A human being is one who uses his mind. Again, a human being is one who compares himself with his past, reflects on his past. Again, a human being is one who between his good and his bad does not make a comparison. Again, a human being is one who grasps that he was created, how he was created. And when that person delves into such qualities, he can think about who created him, what good and bad are, his former state and his present life, and what the One who created him wants from him, and what kind of path he is on. That is what a human being is. If a person thinks about this, or is able to think, he sees which path he is on.

Yes.
