Al-An'am 81: “And while you don’t fear associating things as partners with Allah, about whom Allah has not sent down any proof to you, how can I fear the idols that you associate as partners? In this case, who is more worthy of being safe from fear? If you possess knowledge.”

Translation

“And while you don’t fear associating things as partners with Allah, about whom Allah has not sent down any proof to you, how can I fear the idols that you associate as partners? In this case, who is more worthy of being safe from fear? If you possess knowledge.”

Tafsir

Hazrat Ibrahim addressed his people, saying: O my people! While you do not fear Allah by associating with Allah what Allah has not revealed to you any evidence about the idols you worship, Hazrat Ibrahim, who was aware of the secret of this according to the verse (the whole universe, animate and inanimate, knows the remembrance of its Lord), said, "Would I be afraid of what Allah has given to people to serve Him?

So, O my people! Which side is more worthy to be safe from fear? On the one side is Allah, the Creator of the worlds and their Owner. On the other side are the inanimate objects that God has placed at the disposal of human beings, which they shape with their own hands and worship as gods.

O men of wisdom! Which side is safer to be feared? Of Allah? Or of Allah's creatures and those whom Allah has created and whom they worship as gods, who are ignorant of themselves and can do them neither good nor harm? He said if you know, tell me.

What is said in the video

Abraham continues to advise his people. And while you do not fear associating with Him things about which Allah has sent down to you no proof, how could I fear the idols you associate? Then which side is more deserving of safety from fear, if you know? he says. He says it very beautifully, (?). And while you do not fear associating with Him things about which Allah has sent down to you no proof, he says. Them. How could I fear them? Abraham to his people: while you, associating with Allah things about which Allah Almighty sent down to you no proof concerning the idols you worship, do not fear Allah.

Allah. The living and the lifeless. The whole universe has known its Lord's (?), according to the verse. Abraham, who grasped the secret of this, said: would I ever fear what Allah gave so that they serve people's command? Would I ever fear? Since you do not fear Allah who created you, would I fear Allah's creations, he says. Then is it the Creator — is there a being more worthy of being feared, or is it the created — is there a being more worthy of being feared? (?) the Creator is more worthy of being feared. The Creator. The created are not to be feared.

Then, O my people, which side is more deserving of safety from fear? On one side Allah, who created the worlds and owns them. On the other side, (?) — lifeless things which people shaped with their hands and worshipped as gods. Which side is more certain to be feared? Allah? Or Allah's creations, which they worshipped as gods, unaware of themselves and able to bring themselves neither benefit nor harm — Allah's creations? Tell me if you know, he had said. Tell me if you know. Yes.
