Tafsir
Allah (swt) continues to introduce in this verse the Prophets who did not fail to serve Him and who worshipped Allah (swt). He also guided Zakariyya, the son of Eden, and Yahya, his son, and Jesus, the son of Hadrat Maryam, and Elijah, a descendant of Harun 'alaihis-salâm'.
He sent them as Prophets to invite people to guidance and bestowed great ranks and degrees on these Prophets.
Elijah 'alaihis-salâm' was one of the Prophets of Beni Israel. He was born nine centuries before Jesus. The Children of Israel had fallen into idolatry, worshipping an idol called Beil built by the ruler of Ba'lebek, and they had forgotten the Shari'ah of Hazrat Moses. Allah sent Hazrat Elijah as a Prophet to the people of Israel. Although they refused to worship idols and turned to Allah, the One, and although he explained Allah's commands to this illiterate people, they did not listen to him and expelled him from their midst. So Hazrat Elijah lived in the fields and caves for a while. In the meantime, calamities began to fall on the Children of Israel. Droughts and famines began, and when they were starving to death, they sought Hazrat Elijah and found him. Hazrat Elijah again advises them for a while. After a little while, this people, who had attained salvation, fell into disbelief. Thereupon, Hazrat Ilyas left them with the permission of Allah (swt) and went into seclusion. One narration says that he was raised to the sky eight hundred and eighty years before Christ.
Since this verse also mentions Maryam, the mother of Jesus, the mother of Jesus, who was from the clan of Prophet Abraham, it means that even if a person's children are girls, because they are obedient to Allah and fulfill His commands and prohibitions, they are included among the men. They are considered from that lineage, that progeny. Accordingly, Hazrat Fatima, the daughter of the Holy Prophet, and her children Hasan and Hussein and their children and descendants are considered to be among the descendants of the Holy Prophet.
Abu Ja'far al-Baqir proved this truth to Hajjaj Zalim based on this verse and Hajjaj accepted it.
What is said in the video
That one too we have put among the wrongly interpreted verses.
Here, verse 85, what does it say? Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Ve Zekeriyyâ ve Yahyâ ve Îsâ ve İlyâs, küllün mine's-sâlihîn. That is: We had also led Zechariah, John, Jesus and Elias, Elias too, to what is right, it says. All of them were among the good. There is nothing here about being led to what is right.
If we translate the verse: Zechariah (peace be upon him) and John and Jesus and Elias, küllün mine's- salihîn. All of them were among the righteous, it says. Among the righteous. The other way, the word becomes Allah Almighty's leading. This way, they became righteous by their own will. Yes, Allah Almighty, the prophets who never fall short in serving Him and who are devoted to worshipping Allah, in this verse too He continues to introduce. He introduces the prophets, and He introduced Abraham too; He introduces many prophets. Their first creation, by the will of Allah Almighty, from the Prophet's soul, the first created, and Allah Almighty making a covenant with them.
And they, yes, that they would help the prophets who would come after us, that the verses of Allah Almighty they would tell to people, A verse, that they would try not to fall short in their duty of servanthood to Allah Almighty, that as our Lord's messengers they would be sent as prophets to their people, of this they are made to witness. And Allah Almighty says: I too am among the witnesses with you. Since these are the first prophets, before making the covenant with people in that address Elestü bi-Rabbiküm, when they were first created, He makes a covenant with all the prophets. Anyway, if people knew they were in their covenant, they would get it done.
These, these Zechariah, son of Ede, and his son John, and Jesus son of Mary, and from the lineage of Aaron (peace be upon him) Elias too were (?) guidance. Yes.
By sending these as prophets He had people invited to guidance; who did? Allah Almighty. Before that He made a covenant with them, and according to those covenants He sent the prophets whose time had come to their peoples and had them convey the truth to them. By sending these as prophets He had people invited to guidance, and to these prophets He also granted great stations and ranks. Because these are righteous servants. They are among the righteous, it says. All of them are among the good.
Elias (peace be upon him) is one of the prophets of the Children of Israel. He came into the world 9 centuries before Jesus, before Jesus. That is, he comes into the world 900 years earlier. The Children of Israel had fallen into idolatry and were worshipping idols. Even in the time of Moses they worshipped a calf. (?), well, the idol named Beyl that its ruler had had made, they were worshipping it. Yes. So they worshipped the idol named Beyl that the ruler of Baalbek had had made, and they had forgotten the sharia of Moses. Of course they would forget. Even while Moses was still among them, when he handed his people over to Aaron and went to speak with Allah Almighty, they forgot all that oppression at once, in an instant.
What was this oppression? Pharaoh worked them like servants. He gives them the heaviest work. And they paid them a wage too low to make a living. Like a life in captivity. Well, Allah Almighty saves them from this situation and has them cross the Red Sea. He buries Pharaoh in the waters. He feeds them with quail meat and manna. Despite all these events, still, when Moses went to speak with Allah Almighty at Sinai, at once they worship the calf that the Samiri had made.
So it is in their nature. Those who forgot Moses' sharia in Moses' own time will surely forget this sharia very quickly after him.
That they (?) idols, that they turn to the One Allah; although he explained Allah's commands to this people who would not listen, this people did not listen to Elias and drove him out from among them, Elias (peace be upon him). What does Elias (peace be upon him) say? Do not worship idols. That there is no god but Allah, well, you bear witness, just as our forefathers bore witness. But a person will live out whatever is in their nature, at the first beginning, if they (?) made a covenant without recognizing Allah, then perhaps they will live out that covenant in the world too and worship idols.
That they not worship idols, that they turn to the One Allah; although he explained Allah's commands to this people who would not listen, this people did not listen to Elias and drove him out from among them. Thereupon Elias lives for a while in the deserts and in caves. Meanwhile, calamities begin to rain down on the Children of Israel. Droughts appear. Famines begin. When they are about to die of hunger, they seek out and find Elias. Elias again gives them advice for a while. Then this people, having (?), falls into kufr after a short time. For the sedition of the earth. Something to do.
Thereupon Elias, with permission from Allah Almighty, leaves them and withdraws into seclusion. According to one report, it is said that 880 years before Christ he was raised to the sky. Elias (peace be upon him).
Like this, there is also a report about Elias.
Because he was so devoted in worship, the angels want to see him. And in a plea to Allah Almighty, a report, of course. Well, let us see this servant of Yours and invite him to our place. And Allah Almighty permits it. They come down to the earth, to Elias; he was cutting very fine clothes, clothes. (?) Elias (peace be upon him).
So the angels come to Elias and explain the matter.
And he says, of course, I will come with you, he says. His wife, of course, (?) although she tells him not to go, the angels promise: we will bring (?) back to you, they say. Thereupon Elias (peace be upon him) begins to tour Paradise; while touring Paradise his term expires; Azrael (peace be upon him) comes to take his soul. The angel says: I gave his wife my word; with us there is no (?); we will fulfil this, then take his soul, so our word is kept. Azrael (peace be upon him) says: I too am obliged to carry out the command. Not a moment earlier, not an hour later. That's why I am obliged to take his soul, he says.
Just as he takes his soul and Elias falls to the ground, the angels plead to Allah Almighty. Thereupon Allah Almighty tells him (peace be upon him) to return his soul. While falling to the ground again, Elias (peace be upon him) stands up. The angels say: come on, we're going. No, he says. If it's Paradise, I have come, he says. If it's tasting death, I have tasted death too, he says. I'm not going back anymore, he says.
Yes. If it's death, death. I died. I died. If it's Paradise, Paradise, he says. I have entered Paradise too. I'm not going back anymore, he says. In fact, in a Mevlid-i Nebi, the Prophet Elias (?), it says, in Paradise. Idris. Idris, Idris. Yes. Idris (peace be upon him). Idris (peace be upon him). They say he too is in Paradise. They say that Elias (peace be upon him) too, 880 years before Jesus, rose to Paradise. Yes. They say he went to Paradise. Idris (peace be upon him) likewise is in the highest Paradise; he too is alive there. They tasted death. Of course the one about Elias is a report, but the one about Idris (peace be upon him) is true.
That one is true. This one about Elias is told as a report anyway. Likewise, we don't look at single reports. We look at the events that happened. What are the events? Within the verses: with the permission of Allah Almighty, his withdrawing into seclusion and leaving his people. In the end, when he grows old, he leaves his people. What does it say anyway? Thereupon Elias, with permission from Allah Almighty, leaves them and withdraws into seclusion. According to one report, it is said he was raised to the sky 880 years before Christ, it says. So this too is just a report. Yes, a report. What I told a moment ago is the report about Idris (peace be upon him).
Idris (peace be upon him), truly those reports are sound, is in Paradise. He also tasted death. In this case
Allah Almighty's manifestations upon people, the majesty of His existence, Allah Almighty shows it through all kinds of events. Since in this verse, from the lineage of Abraham, Mary, the mother of Jesus, is also counted, a person's child, even if a girl, because they are obedient to Allah and fulfil His commands and prohibitions, enters among the men. They enter among the men. Not a man, but like a man. Yes. They are counted from that lineage, that is, from that offspring. Accordingly, the Prophet's daughter Fatima and her children Hasan and Husayn, and their children and descendants, are counted among the Prophet's offspring. In the offspring too.
For one, there is our being of his lineage spiritually. Spiritually. And then there is being of the Prophet's offspring. Yes. Abu Ja'far al-Baqir proved this truth, based on this verse, against Hajjaj the tyrant. And Hajjaj accepted it. Has done so. Yes.
